Was about to answer this⬇️ (spoiler territory, i don’t know how to add the spoiler tag, please help😅)

“Here’s the tracklist for the official companion album which includes 13 of those

These obviously aren’t all the songs that are in the movie. (Stating maybe spoilers below, but thought this was the best place to put it

That said, the tracklist below was ‘leaked’ a few weeks ago by an insider. Every song in the companion album was also listed (even WDAN all the way to the bottom instead of the usual off the wall period) so I think it’s fair to say that they were right ⬇️

this one is actually funny because there wasn't an insider, just a random dude on reddit spreading this and everyone took it as real, as a lot of people do sending links of AI recreations in the unreleased thread. those are just random guesses but it's totally expected and estimated since those songs were either shown already or can be expected

Right, i stand corrected then. I misremembered about the insider thing, too much happening around this movie. Still, they hit the nail right on the head as of now

Until Sony and the estate actuqally announce something official regarding the soundtrack, anything posted elsewhere (including reddit) needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

This is so infuriating. An absolute pisstake. Putting this out two months after Number Ones got reissued is mental.

It's now more obvious than ever their whole focus is on catering to new fans and that only.

Damn, even the Boh Rhap OST album had unreleased material (a few unheard live performances).

It also had one or two "movie" mixes. It was a very decent release to be fair.

Sony Music today announced the upcoming release of Michael: Songs from the Motion Picture, the official companion album to the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic Michael. The album is available for pre-order beginning today and will be released on April 24, the same day the film arrives in theaters from Lionsgate and Universal Pictures.
Michael: Songs From the Motion Picture highlights 13 songs showcased in the film, spanning from The Jackson 5 to The Jacksons to Michael’s chart-topping solo success with “Off The Wall” and “Thriller.” The collection includes smash hits like “Billie Jean,” “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough,” “Human Nature” and more.
The soundtrack will be released on all formats on April 24th. The 2-LP will include several color variants, including various exclusive options. Click here for more details.
In theaters April 24, Michael is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of The Jackson 5, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
Michael stars Jaafar Jackson in his feature film debut as his uncle, Michael Jackson. The film also stars Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, with Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by three-time Oscar® nominee John Logan, the film is produced by Graham King, p.g.a., John Branca, and John McClain.
Michael will be distributed domestically by Lionsgate, and by Universal in international markets outside of Japan, where it will be distributed by Kino Films in association with Lionsgate.

What an absolute let down. Thought we'd at least get HOT STREET. I for one will not be buying it. Completed waste of time offering nothing different.

Maybe there'll be a new album or a standalone single release.

Michael’s discography is iconic but because they’re splitting it up in two parts I feel it makes it look a little weak.

I wanted the audience to hear hit after hit and come away from the cinema feeling blown away at how spectacular it is.
This is GENUINELY what I was expecting as the hits are what would print money for this movie. Even as someone who was not really looking forward to this, I don't know what to make of it all. There have been so many moving parts.

No unreleased tracks, demo?
No. It's not the place. THIS IS A BIOPIC.

Typical useless estate. They can shove it. I hope the movie isn't as lazy as this soundtrack.
What did you expect them to do for a soundtrack?!

I wanted them to be lazy. That's the whole point. It's great. It means we get to ignore the whole thing. Nothing worse than having to buy a whole album just to hear one song. Nothing worse than having to skip ABC and Billie Jean just to get to the song you haven't heard before.

If that's the final tracklist, it's what I expected. They did a great job.

Agreed. There's already a stupid amount of greatest hits compilations.

It's now more obvious than ever their whole focus is on catering to new fans and that only.
Again, ITS A BIOPIC..

Damn, even the Boh Rhap OST album had unreleased material (a few unheard live performances).
And it's a terrible album to listen to. All over the place.

What Queen fans want is full unedited live shows, not short clips.

This is a companion album for the film. There is a 99% chance that there will be a separate OST album. This companion album is for the people who are non-fans who hear a song they liked in the movie and can easily find it via this album. It just has songs that were used in the movie.
