Aphrodite Jones interview with Michael's former doctor Dr. Patrick Treacy!

Just wanted to briefly say that I didn't intent to mention this blurp to take away from the importance of Dr.Treacy's testimony. If his testimonial is that Michael himself did not complain about insomnia in his presence, than that's to be assumed to be to the best of his knowledge.

(I just mentioned it because I could swear to you that I had these images suddenly running through my head about these outtakes that I had watched months ago, totally unrelated to this and back than I sat up and sat, you mean, Michael was on camera at one point speaking about his sleep deprivation??? Hopefully stuff like that turns out to be helpful to disprove this freak-on-propofol- bias that's been heralded as gospel)

This is very important testimony.
Thanks ever so much for the videos and transcript. :flowers::flowers::flowers::flowers:

Thank you for the transcript Alma

I think it´s important to talk about that Michael had problems with insomnia for many years.
But he tried to solve it without medicin most of the time.

Thanks for the transcript Alma. I hope Aphrodite does a book on the trial. It is good that she interviewed the doctor because more people need to hear about this side of Michael.

Good interview but the might be a little off. I mean perhaps he hasn't experienced it but it looks like some people in Ireland experienced Michael's insomnia. Pace is right Michael was complaining in the E interview with William (it was the outtakes of Billy Bush interview that they aired after Michael's death) and I also believe that the owners of the place that he stayed mentioned seeing him dancing under the moon at 3-4 AM.

If you have had insomnia for a long time, you also learn to live with it. At times it's better, at other times worse and even when it's worse, it doesn't always bother you the same way, you can deal with it better at times. Or as a night person, if you don't have a lot going on and can sleep whenever you want, when you are tired (which is usually more during the day than at night for a night person), it might not be as bad. Also you don't always ask doctors for help, they will give you medication, and you don't always want that for several reasons.

If MJ has problems for years why in the world didn't he get real help? Michael could've had the luxury of having any specialist in any field help him with his problem. I'm pretty sure a professional sleep specialist would not have suggested propofol as a sleeping aid to help him

We don't know whether he did or not, he could have sought treatment for it, but insomnia is a scary thing to treat, very difficult and many treatments are bound to fail for those who have/have had it for a very long time like he had, so better reserve the criticism, especially now that he's gone. .. Michael had a very, very difficult life, also a very active mind, especially at night, when creativity is most fruitful, lots of things were occupying his mind, that I'm just not at all amazed that he couldn't sleep too much. ..

I agree with your post. Sadly, in a lot of cases, there is no real treatment that works, and there is no cure. The root of the problem isn't always clear, or it's more than one thing, the problem has a lot of layers. So there also is no "real help", just like it's not as simple as that - go get "real help" and the problem is solved in a few weeks. I've been suffering from it for about 20 years (yep, and it's 3 am now over here, good morning!), and I'm a nightperson. Most days I start feeling "awake" at night, after being tired all day. If you have never experienced it, you don't know how it feels and you can't judge someone with this problem. Or give them advice.

YES! Having sleep issues ain't easy to deal with....I would know! So best for some to keep ur criticism to yourself, if u don't know how it is! SMH

Keep that anger and the questions on Murray instead!

I hope Aphrodite does a book on the trial.
She said in an interview that she wouldn't rule that out...so we shall see?!

yes it isn't easy to deal with but with MJ being who he was you would think he would've been able to find an expert or professional with that disorder who could've helped him safely instead of hooking up with a rogue cardiologist who ended up killing him by putting him in a coma. Getting put into a coma at night is not 'sleep'.

Right.. I'm feeling more awake at night myself, and I've dealt with insomnia before, when I couldn't shut down my thoughts and feelings for the night and would fall asleep at 6:00 a.m. Sleep aids did more bad that good to me, the next day feeling like a legume, shuffling and struggling to keep alert unsuccessfully. Very annoying problem, lack of sleep is really problematic and it makes you very vulnerable and tired and sleepy. Murray must have most likely took advantage of this kind of vulnerability caused by sleep-deprivation in Michael, pumping him full with benzos and propofol, what an evil sickness love of money is.

Murray had to have seen MJ lethargic and he had to have known all of those benzos and propofol was doing more harm than good. He didn't care and that's the issue. Obviously no one cared about MJ or his health or well being. Karen Faye and company said they believed something was going with MJ, but none of them said or did anything. It's just awful

Here's the Ireland interview where Michael says to the cameraman to "make it look like I've slept".

Like others mentioned and from my personal experience with insomnia, it varies. At times one can achieve good sleeping paterns when you're mind is free of "things" but as soon as "things" come up, it starts again.

I've learned over many years that I can only have a regular sleep pattern if I have no bills to pay, nobody to worry about and no obligations to have to wake up early to.

I can sleep well for a long time but every now and again if I have to set an alarm clock to wake up early, it's over. I can't sleep the whole night prior and it takes me weeks to get my good sleep patern back. If I work on a creative project, I can't sleep because the inspiration comes at night.

Michael was a very busy man with an overactive genius mind. IMO, the only thing that could've help his particular case is, the Dave Elman hypnotherapy and possibly, medical marijuana to help establish a sleep patern. But Michael being raised in the JW surely made him fearful of these most helpful natural therapies. BTW, Noone of these therapies would've addicted him nor killed him. The worst that could've happened is, no change.

Welcome, all. ..

Dr. Treacy seems to genuinely care for Michael, he's genuine and you can tell he is. He's been offered lotsa money before by all sorts of tabs and other media tools to say some dirt about Michael, yet he's never accepted to.

As for Michael complaining/confessing he couldn't sleep... insomnia is, well, insomnia. But he didn't resort to medication or what not to get sleep, by all accounts, he went to sleep late and created a lot at night, was a night owl (his own words as well). Only when on tours and.. before, like it happened before the concerts that never happened in London, his insomnia worsened.., his mind also was filled with many creative ideas and the adrenaline (subsequent to the rehearsals) was high. Vulnerability, given such circumstances (to top the lawsuits flying around him all over on end), also tends to increase a lot and is very easy to be exploited, which Murrray did.. to death. Murray was bragging to one of his girlfriends, Sade, according to her, how Murray will go to London, how he's to make lots of money, how he feels this cool man for being Michael's 'doctor', that nothing mattered. Absolutely nothing, 'xcept his dough.

YES! Having sleep issues ain't easy to deal with..
i can imagine that its horrendous. i work late shifts a couple of times a week were i get to sleep at not far off 5am if im lucky and ive never felt so bad as i do the morning after those shifts and it takes me days to recover. i cant imagine going through that sort of thing all the time. i dont sleep well at the best of times so having the above ontop of that is horrible

look.you /we dont know what if anything mj tried to do about his insomnia, he may have got help from the best experts out there and it did not help him or he may have thought it was impossible for him to go to any clinic becasue it would have been leaked and the media would have had a field day saying he was in drug rehab or something and then having so called fans probably moaning at him for it

I think people sometimes think that "we" know everything about famous people. But even if you read a lot about them, there are usually still a lot more things that you don't know than things you know. It's not like it never happened just because you've never heard about it.

If you have the best experts and the best clinics in the world they still can´t cure everyone with insomnia. They don´t know all answers about what happens when you sleep or why you can´t sleep.
Lot´s of people suffer from insomnia and I think many with very bad insomnia would try almost anything to get some sleep.

well it probably would've been better for MJ to go to rehab since the media is calling him an addict anyway and his own family is calling him one. He probably would've been still alive if he would've went to a rehab clinic for insomniacs. If he would've told folks that he had such a severe problem in the beginning then him taking propofol for sleep would not have been as shocking. His own family claims they had no clue he had insomnia that bad. It's just awful that he had no one he could turn to

I wish some would just stop complaining already about what MJ should have done! We don't know if he tried to get help before and it didn't work!? And let's not take what Murray said happen as all facts!

kaymon is stuck in the old habit of blaming mj for everything.

I'm not blaming MJ. I blame Murray but I have a hard time understanding how MJ could be convinced that this was a good idea. MJ was not stupid so why in the world would he trust someone to put him in a coma at home without any expertise in doing so? It just doesn't make sense to me. If MJ had problems like that I'm quite sure there was someone who could help him find a safer and better solution. I am just upset that he's gone over something so stupid and reckless. Mike should still be here. Murray is guilty as sin but the whole thing is just plain dumb. No one should be healthy and die from an anesthesia overdose. Mike should not have been given any anesthesia because he wasn't sick, dying or having surgery.
