Bad 25 - The Lyrics

Al Capone's Verse

Why did you let him get away ?
After the staring, what you say ?
Hit in me, cold and caught his eyes.
Strength in my fist and put it back
She’s heard just fired down, he’s in
No one had job to get revenge
Why did you let him get away
Why did you let him get her

Free

(...)
Yesterday is when I fell down
And you came unmask in the things all around in you
All the things you look to me, all they say I do
(...)
Yesterday wouldn’t, I fell down as star
Try to make the things that I was around, you know
Life is just a thing you don’t pass, the way I do
Because I want to be
(...)
Yesterday was when I fell down as star
Try to make seize of, I wanna ride your star
Try to make a way to see what this thing I do
You, ah, you, ‘cause I want to be
(...)

So, What do you think 'bout it ?

You can not trust the Japanese release lyrics. I mean, just look at DMBA. Almost every line is WRONG.

I'm wondering what's the usage of an useless lyrics booklet

So true, those lyrics are just wrong. However, I love trying to cypher the Jacksonese. The best part is listening to the songs over and over.

It's very difficult to decrypt "Al Capone" lyrics. So, this is an other suggestion

Why did you let him get away?
After the staring, what you say?
Hit in me, bald and cold as ice.
Strength in my face then put it knife
She’s heard just fire down, he’s in
No one had job to get revenge
Why did you let him get away
Why did you let him get her
(...)

What do you think 'bout it ?

My take on Abortion Papers:

  1. Sister don't read so she'll never know
What about love, living a Christian soul
What do we get, She runs away
What about love, What about all I pray

    Don't know the words
    She knows the beat
What about God, Living is all I see
What do you get, Things she would say
What about love, That's all I pray

    Those Abortion papers
Signing your name against the word of god
    Those Abortion papers
Think about life, I'd like to have my child

    Sister confused, She went alone
What about love, What about all I saw
Biding her time, Reading the words
Singing a song, Reciting a bible verse

All those confused, a mothers despair
Brothers encourage, What about all I see
You know they die, You came along
What about heart, That's all I know

    Those Abortion papers
Signing your name against the word of God
    Those Abortion papers
Think about life, I'd like to have my child

    Those Abortion papers (Aow!)
Signing your name against the word of God
    Those Abortion papers
Think about life, I'd like to have my child

Look at my word, What do they say
Look at my heart burning is all I pray
What do you care, What do you say
What about love, To feel my sin

    Those Abortion papers
Signing your name against the word of god
    Those Abortion papers
Think about life, I'd like to have my child

    Those Abortion paper (Aow!)
Think about life, I'd like to have my child (Aow!)

    (Aow!}

Sister don't know, Where would she go
What about love, What about all I know

What will you get, end up confused
Love only say, It's just the things I do

    Those Abortion papers

I'm sitting here, and after reading all the new possible new lines of Al Capone, i dont know what to do. its more confusing.
cause when u slow down and listen to each possibility you can hear it, or parts of it. thats frustrating.

Price of fame
(1986, written by Michael Jackson)

I took my baby on a river boat cruise
And she was well aware
I was excited about the way the things could have been
As in if I don't care

I want a face no one can recognize, in disguise
Someone called out my name
They thought of taking pictures, autographs, then they grab
My joy had turned to pain

Father always told me
'You won't live a quiet life'
If you're reaching for fortune and fame
I feel the pressure setting in
I'm living just to win
I'm down in my pain
Don't you feelin' no pain?

It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't be feelin' no pain
It's the price of fame
It's the price of fame
So don't you ever complain?

I am a cover of a magazine, what a scene
They know my every do's
'Just sign your name on the dotted line, you'll be fine'
That always bothers me

Get in your car, you wanna take a ride, look behind
Someone is following you
You try to get away you turn with that, but too bad
They know your every move

Father always told me
'You won't live a quiet life'
If you're reaching for fortune and fame
And I feel the pressure setting in
I'm living just to win
I bleed in all this pain
Don't you ever complain?

It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't you ever complain
It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't be feelin' no pain?

It's the price of fame [Price of fame]
You pay the price of fame [Price of fame]
Father never lies
My father never lies [Price of fame]
My father never lies [Price of fame]
So don't be feelin' this way, boy

(Hee-Hee)
(Aow!)
(Do it)
(Hoo)

I like to take sometime and get away, then they'll say
Is that boy still alive?
The weak that really started taking pills, what a thrill
Only the strong survive

Father always told me
'You won't live a quiet life'
They start to wonderin' where have you been
I feel their envious looks at me
Their mistaken jealousy
And then stand here in my shoes
And get addict of my blues

It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't you ever complain
It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't be feelin' this way

It's the price of fame
You pay the price of fame
So don't you ever complain
In the price of fame [Price of fame]
You pay the price of fame [Price of fame]

My father never lies [Price of fame]
My father never lies, baby
My father never lies [Price of fame]
So don't be feelin' no pain, boy

^^Barry mentions Michael from 1.40. Love what Michael had to say about lyrics. The overall feeling the song gives you is the most important.

Not saying lyrics aren't, but I think the melody always (well, mostly..) came first with Michael and then the lyrics to accompany the music...just like Barry wrote his songs.

That's very interesting about Michael and lyrics. And it's true. When I first heard Michael and fell in love with his music I did not understand a word. I was a kid, not speaking English at all. And IMO a lot of people became fans all over the world not knowing what he sings about. Some of Michael's lyrics are really powerful and deep. But the music alone is captivating.

Me too :).

And of course his convincing way of singing. Even if you didn't quite understand the lyrics, because they were in a foreign language to you , you knew what it was about, only by listening to the emotions in his voice. Incredible.

Can't really transcribe proper lyrics for most of these songs because Michael hadn't written them yet and was just singing "dummy lyrics" to give across the feel of what he eventually do when he would sit down to write the finished lyrics. Actually, a lot of what he is saying aren't even words.

I would say the lyrics for Price of Fame, I'm So Blue and Al Capone sound pretty complete.

Abortion Papers sounds a bit improv'd in places, but no more than a song like Morphine.

Free is obviously just a rough guide vocal though.

Price of Fame, yes. I'm So Blue, I don't quite agree. It sounds like he had a good idea of what he wanted and some parts in place that would have remained. The first part of the first verse I don't think is complete at least. Al Capone for the most part sounds pretty close to complete, but I don't think it is fully complete.

This will be the thread with all the lyrics of the upcoming release "Bad 25".
It will look like the last thread with the lyrics of the album "Michael", Michael - The Lyrics .
Hopefully with the same involvement and enthusiasm of so much people, like we had on "Michael". But hey, i'm 100% sure it will. :)
For me, I'm very very hungry for new lyrics. :p Especially lyrics for my all-time favourite album.

Well English is not my first language so probably I'm wrong. But in Free I think Michael at the end of the song , after his cute laugh says "Riley you're so silly"... Probably speaking to Teddy Riley who is also a keyboardist...and infact we listen to a keyboard playing at the very end of the song.... just trying

^^ I hear "Ronny". Did MJ ever had a keyboardist by the name of Ron, Ronald or Ronny?

My take on Al Capone:

Why did you let him get away
After the staring what you see
Truth in me bold and cold as ice
She screamed in my face then called you a liar

She ??? down his ???
The woman tried to get revenge
Why did you let him get away
Why did you let him get her

Too bad, go get it
Cause it's Al Capone who's in it
So sad, regret it
Cause a mad man's out tonight

You should have told her
Nobody ever showed her about us
The girl was sleeping
Nobody should be grieving this way

Why did you let him get away
After the staring what you see
Truth in me bold and cold as ice
She screamed in my face then called you a liar

She ??? down his ???
The woman tried to get revenge
Why did you let him get away
Why did you let him get her

Too bad, go get it
Cause it's Al Capone who's in it
So sad, regret it
And I told her out tonight

Nobody ever showed her about us
The girl was sleeping
Nobody should be grieving this way

I'm so blue

There we are as cold as ice
Asking me to love you and often be your friend

There you are I walk alone
Telling me to love you and often be your end (friend?)

She told me she'd be giving me
A lifetime of love forever true
But she left me for another man
And I'm singing to keep from feeling blue

All I know is...

Here I am so all alone
And I'm so sad and lonely, tell me what will I do

I can't heal, I'm holding on
??? seem to love me, I feel I am your fool

They told me you should sing a song
Of happy when you're feeling blue
I've been singing for so very long
Still I'm crying, tell me what should I do

All I know is...

She told me she'd be giving me
A lifetime of love so guaranteed
But she left me for another man
And I'm singing and crying helplessly

But I'll keep singing...

thank you. Free was a demo Michael wrote solely. Maybe in later years Sayer helped him add some lyrics, but on this demo it is ALL Michael, and I love it just that way.
