How many of you knew This Is It (the song) was recorded in 1983?

The first time I heard the song, I knew straight away that it was recorded during the thriller era.
 
I recently saw a youtube video of Paul Anka singing the song in a concert in Spain and he paid tribute to Mike, telling the story of how Mike (as a 21 year old, which makes the year 1979) called him out of the blue and asked to collaborate on some songs. And that the tape was found by the Estate in a drawer and that he gave them permission to use the song for the movie.
