"If you're thinkin' about my baby/brother, It don't matter if you're black or white"
This song is a view of people around the world. Be it racial, skin color, language
Released: 11.11.1991
Music Video: John Landis, who directed the music video for Thriller, directed the music video.
And Macaulay Culkin (from Home Alone) and The Simpsons to perform this music video.
Many critics About this MV is Panther Dance.
On the DVD of 'Video Greatest Hits - HIStory' put the graffiti on the Panther Dance section.

I just remember this song being so many weeks on N01 that I got used to watch it every Saturday on my fave music program. It has got a catchy tune with a strong message indeed and I absolutely love the Panther dance. It’s just art with all these emotions bubbling to the surface. :woohoo:

Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” – a Rock ‘N Roll Dance Song About Racial Harmony
November 11, 2024

Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” was released on this date in 1991 and was marketed as a “a rock ‘n’ roll dance song about racial harmony”. The message of the song is reflected in several ways including the featured dances from cultures across the world: African Zulu, Thai, Native American, Sri Lankan, and Ukrainian. Watch it now:

When it first came out at age 14 I loved the guitar part. These days I find it slightly boring.

As for the video, I can see why so many people would get bored/confused by the panther part. Not necessarily "offended", like they tried to make out on TV, but just... wanting to get on to the next song as soon as John Landis says "perfect".

Part of me wonders how much influence he took from Street Fighter II The World Warrior (released March 91).

This sort of thing really enforces just how magical MJ will always continue to be.
Sometimes, we take songs (& their short films) for granted. I fell for this trap several times, too.
Due to its popularity some tend to overlook the reason why it was this successful.
Black or White got it all, the music, the visuals, and the message.

Tribal people
I ended up watching the discussion about Earth Song and Man In The Mirror too. Would have been great if they'd titled the video with where the people were actually from.

I see it the same way
that's why I like this version:
That's quite cool. I guess there were so many tracks to choose from.

I don't think I've ever seen any discussion on this. Quite hard to believe everything is a coincidence.
