Since I live in the UK, I was watching Good Morning Britain I think and this 19 year old English teenager named Christopher Baker with Asperger syndrome was a headline. As the story goes, he found his amazing talent of pencil drawing a few years ago. His early inspiration was MJ by listening to his songs and he has drawn impeccable pictures of both Michael and other celebrities, tv shows, etc. I have linked a website where you can check out his gallery...

and
his own website: http://www.cjbart.com/

Here's one he did of Michael:

I really admire his talent, in fact I'm jealous being a fan of drawing myself! I hope that he becomes a well known artist in years to come! God bless you Christopher :)

BTW you can buy his art work online ;)

Thank you so much for sharing Chris' work. As Chris' mum I can confirm that you are indeed correct. My husband and I appeared in Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning with Chris watching from the sidelines. Being on the autistic spectrum Chris has a specialist subject and that is MJ. He simply adores his music, lyrics, dance moves and of course the fact that MJ was an amazing artist too. Thank you once again for sharing his work.

OMG! That is simply brilliant! I had expected a good maybe pretty good sketch - however, damn! One of the best sketches I've ever seen. It seems as if the pictures have life in them.

Can he do abstract sketches - he certainly seems to have the potential. I'd love to see them!

My pleasure, I had to share it - it's beyond amazing! Though, I never thought that I would get a reply from THE Baker family, this made my day! :D Now I can see that Chris and I share the same love for Michael's music. As a person who likes to draw with tonal pencil myself, I can see why Chris chose Michael as a person to draw - I have drawn a couple of him too in the past :) I'm sure Michael himself would have been completely amazed by Chris' talent as well. All I can say is good luck to Chris with his artwork as he he truly has a gift! All the best,

Jess

That doesn't even look like a drawing. It looks like a real photo. Amazing work

I'm gobsmacked! That is stunning. I looked on Deviant Art and his other works are the same. Just brilliant.

Fantastic!

As an aside, I've always loved that photograph of Michael. I'd like to buy a huge print of it for my wall. If anyone sees it anywhere let me know!

That is beyond good.. Coming from someone that draws, I can really appreciate the work.. I mean the detail when it comes to lighting, texture, depth, and the smoothness that comes with it.. That's more than a talent, that's a gift! It's almost as if the work transcends what a person is supposed to be able to do with pencil.

the detail that these drawings bring in (some more than the MJ one) show that the artist has an appreciation to the world and surroundings that most don't.. That's what is beautiful about art. You stop and see what light does (for example) how it operates around materiel - have that to be registered in a way you can emulate on paper... That shows appreciation for life, an appreciation to the word around that person..

Chris does not work with abstract just the real world and people that he truly admires and appreciates. Thank you for your kind words.

I have just sat down with Chris and read all of the comments that have been left. Chris is really touched by your comment and admiration for his work. Many thanks once again for sharing.

Chris sells prints of his artwork through his website www.cjbart.com they are available in A4 and A5. Thank you for your interest in Chris and his artwork.
