AD: When you start thinking about 2002, what .. what kind of things come to mind for you?
MJ: Um, film. I love movies. To do more movies; to integrate the songs with the film. Dancing and more peace into the world. I pray for peace all the time and the most important thing I pray for is protection for children and babies. That’s the thing that concerns me the most, I want them to be protected and to have more children’s rights in the world, where children, you know, where there’s a day for children; a celebration for children. Give them a little more attention and love.
Michael cared about them, that's why there are a lot of children, kids, babies in his songs.
Let's find them!

I'll start with Can You Feel It:
all the children of the world should be
loving each other wholeheartedly

kids are murdering other kids for the fun of it
instead of using their mind or their fist, they put a gun in it
wanna be a part of a clique, don't know who's runnin' it
tragedy on top of tragedy you know it's killin' me

Shout (2001)

if you can't feed your baby
then don't have a baby
and don't think maybe
if you can't feed your baby

you'll be always tryin'
to stop that child from cryin'
hustlin', stealin', lyin'
now baby's slowly dyin'

Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, 1979

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

"We've Had Enough"

"Love was taken from a young life
And no one told her why
Her direction has a dimlight
From one more violent crime
She innocently questioned why
Why her father had to die
She asked the men in blue
How is it that you get to choose
Who will live and who will die
Did god say that you could decide?
You saw he didn't run
And that my daddy had no gun"

...

"In the middle of a village
Way in a distant land
Lies a poor boy with his broken toy
Too young to understand
He's awaken, ground is shakin
His father grabs his hand"

...

"He innocently questioned why
Why his mother had to die
What did these soldiers come here for?
If they're for peace, why is there war?
Did God say that they could decide
Who will live and who will die?
All my mama ever did
Was try to take care of her kids"

the light from the window
cuts through the air
and pins the child lying there
scared of the moon

the years go by swiftly
and soon childhood ends
but life is still fearful
when evening descends
the fear of the child
still intrude the night
returning on beams of light
scared of the moon

Scared of the Moon

I met her on the way to Chicago
Where she was all alone
And so was I so I asked her for her name
She smiled and looked at me
I was surprised to see
That a woman like that was really into me
She said she didn't have no man
Raised the kids the very best she can (she was lovin' me)
She told me she was all alone
Sad at home, she didn't have no phone (she was wantin' me)
She said just to give her a page
59 was the code she gave (She was lovin' me)
She lied to you, lied to me
'Cause she was lovin' me, lovin' me, yeah
I never would've thought she was living like that
Her words seemed so sincere
When I held her near she would tell me how she feels
It felt so real to me
This girl, she had to be
An angel sent from heaven just for me
She said she didn't have no man
Raised the kids the very best she can (She was lovin' me)
She told me she was all alone
Sad at home, she didn't have no phone (She was wantin' me)
She said just to give her a page
59 was the code she gave
She lied to you, lied to me
'Cause she was lovin' me, lovin' me, yeah
She tried to live a double life (she was lovin' me)
Lovin' me while she was still your wife (she was wantin' me)
She thought that lovin' me was cool
While you at work and the kids at school (she was lovin' me)
She said that it would never end
Tried to get me any way she can (she was wantin' me)
She lied to you, lied to me
'Cause she got a family, family, yeah
Why? No, alright
I didn't know she was already spoken for
'Cause I'm not that kind of man
I swear that I would have never looked her way
Now I feel so much shame
And know things have to change
You should know that I'm holding her to blame
She said she didn't have no man
Raised the kids the very best she can (holdin' her to blame)
She told me she was all alone
Sad at home, she didn't have no phone (holdin' her to blame)
She said just to give her a page
59 was the code she gave (holdin' her to blame)

FINALLY! IT'S TIME FOR MY FAVOURITE SONG:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Mama told me not to come
she said that ain't no way to gave fun, son

Mama told me not to come
she said that ain't no way to gave fun, son

Er, no offence but do you know this song? It really doesn't fit the theme of the thread. Great song and I love it to bits but it really doesn't fit in here. At least, not imo. :)

EDIT - I'm talking about the original version by Three Dog Night. In fact, I've never listened to this cover version. Maybe they changed some most of the lyrics. 🤷‍♀️
