“The Girl Is Mine” (MJ & Paul McCartney, 1982)

"Whatzupwitu" (Eddie Murphy featuring MJ, 1993)

“You Rock My World” (MJ & Chris Tucker, 2001)

If they shouldn't have happened then Michael wouldn't have released/recorded them...

The Girl Is Mine is not his best song but it wouldn't be better without Paul McCartney. And we probably wouldn't have Say Say Say if The Girl Is Mine would have never happened...

Whatzupwithu Is not even on an MJ record so why worry about the existance?

Chris Tucker's voice is only in the Intro. But there's allready a discussion about song intros ;) And i like that he's in the short Film

I dunno, I've always like The Girl Is Mine. It's not the best song on Thriller by far (Say Say Say is gold), and while it may be cheesy... I actually like the fact that it is. It's cheesy and in a good way. Maybe I'm a sucka simply because I loved Macca working with MJ :p

Agree on Whatzupwitu. For YRMW, are you talking about Chris Tucker being on the song or in the short film? I agree if it's the song, I usually skip the intro but I like him in the short film. He's great hehe.

I LOVE the Girl is Mine. Granted, I'm not as familiar with Say, Say, Say since I never bought Paul's album, (just watched the video a million times)but the Girl is Mine is beautiful.
I would put Hold my Hand on the list. Really don't like it.

That’s why I gave that title to my thread…

In my opinion, “Thriller” would have been better without that saccharine song.

I am referring to both of them ("You Rock My World" music video & song).

The Girl Is Mine was classic MJ ....I loved that song.......reached #1 on the R&B Charts and #2 on the Pop Chart........it wasn't a great r&b song or a great pop song, it was a great memorable song

The Girl is Mine was an extension of Paul McCartney's duet with Stevie Wonder in Ebony and Ivory in 1981

without The Girl Is Mine, we never get Liberian Girl, we never get Remember The Time, we never get You Are Not Alone, we never get Break of Dawn...

I prefer a gazillion times the songs Michael did with Paul, corny or not than the songs he did with Akon. I can't stand his effing annoying voice. Michael's vocals in Hold My Hand are gorgeous but Akon ruined the song.

I like Girl is Mine and Hold My Hand. I don't have problem with Chris Tucker in You Rock My World either. He was great in the music video.

Yeah, don't see the problem with TGIM.

It's a fun, melodic, light song, great to sing along to.

Harks back to a more carefree, fun time in MJ's life before he had to write about darker, victimised material.

He always wrote dark material, even before he wrote TGIM. as for the TS question no not really. I enjoy all of MJ's collaborations to be frank

^ that's pretty sick. We come on this part of the forum to discuss, enjoy and reminisce about his art and the light he brought into our lives.

I cannot see any connection among these totally different songs.

One of the most pointless collaborations of all time.

MJ was the perfect example of an artist that worked well both with sadness & happiness.

That is very difficult for any artist…

Without Whatzupwitu (as cheesy as the song is) there wouldn't be a video for that. And Michael is so darn sweet there!

I think I'm the only one in the world that embraces the cheese of Whazupwitu :p

I don't love Whatzupwitu but I don't hate it either. Michael is the best thing from the song and video.
