Very interesting to see, I wish I had that kind of money to even contemplate buying them!

How do we know these were MJ involved? I always thought the lenticular tickets were a cash grab by AEG.

That's what I thought... I didn't think they were pre-planned. They took so long to get the tickets sent out to us.

When they suggested we pay face value to have these silly tickets it had cash grab written all over it.

I didn't hesitate in requesting a full refund.

Yeah me neither. Seemed such an obvious cash grab at the time I gladly took the refund and never regretted it.

Face value for a piece of card of a gig that never happened? Insane.

It's long ago, but I don't get tired to agree it really was a disgusting thing they did in selling the tickets for that value (instead of e.g. donating this money). I also chose a refund for my tickets.

They might have taken a long time to be sent out but the news report showing the prototypes that look exactly like the finished product was shown 5 days after his death so i think they were pre-planned

They were in overdrive straight after he died to get as much money back as possible.

For people into their MJ collecting you'll know that their are 8 different MJ This Is It style tickets. This guy on eBay seems to be selling some early never before seen designs, really cool to see with a crazy price tag: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Michael-...220590?hash=item3d8872a82e:g:cJgAAOSwOjxcs9xY

Im glad they were rejected, they're quite bad but still cool to see
Hi there, new to the forum.
I can confirm that these tickets are likely legit. I purchased a sheet through this seller on eBay, I’d been chatting to him for 6 months and attempting to come to a deal as I also though £500 was too steep. In the end, I got a sweet deal on them. As any MJ collector knows, it’s always a gamble. But I got the backstory from the seller, as follows. ‘I can tell you that I worked for the company that produced everything on the finishing side of things, the proof sheets were sent to us in January 2009, once they were rejected the only design we had was the lightning design which were 15-up to a sheet, these were to cover the first 10 dates of the 50 scheduled tour, the other 7 designs were bought in after his death to cover the demand of people who wanted to keep their ticket instead of a refund, that’s when things got out of hand as we were getting sheet after sheet of peoples individual seating numbers - it was chaos, my personal opinion was that the rest of the tour would not of gone ahead !’
The sheet itself has a print date of 3/11/2008, so it fits the timeline. I’d have been more nervous had there not been a date at all. The tickets have good lenticular movement and are in great shape for something that was printed 14 years ago. I also sourced all of my This Is It official tickets from the same seller, including one for opening night. If you are looking for This is it tickets, I recommend this seller.
