Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Wade is using the same backround on his new twitter account, he used for his victimfund!!!!

So we know what the main reson will be behind starting this twitteraccound.
We should observe in the next weeks if he promotes thre his victim fund, make screenshots from this and collect them secretly.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I desperately want Robson and Safechuck to sit down for an interview with Charles Thomson or Joseph Vogel.

Every single interview given has been sanitized of anything incriminating, and every interviewer seems reluctant to throw them any hardball questions. They offer the bare minimum and then proceed with further praise for their "bravery" and "credibility." Whenever the response from the Estate or the fan community is brought up, they dismiss it without going into specifics, likely because they know they're up against the wall and don't want to risk further ****ing up their stories.

But if Thomson or Vogel got to them? Blood in the water.

That'll never happen though. I imagine those two would jump at the opportunity, but Robson and Safechuck would probably bail under the auspices of being "threatened" and/or "bullied" by fans.

Side note: Robson starting a new Twitter account and writing that exhaustive blog post is painfully transparent. He's inviting fans to harass him so he can further position himself as a victim, while using textbook manipulation tactics to further rope in the critics: "All these people are sending me death threats and terrible messages, but all I want to offer the world is love and peace. I hold no ill will against them."

How the HELL can't the world see this???

The really sad part of this is beeing in this circus makes me more suspisious against real victims. I’m sorry but I just can’t help it. I mean the fact that they consider this as credible.

It is really important I think to support the family. I mean it is their brother, uncle, father and son who is not with us anymore.

It's like banging your head against a brick wall with many.
I have posted some of those rebuttal videos elsewhere and I am being told that without a name attached to them, they mean absolutely nothing.

I have stated facts and was told they are not such as I wasn't there.....what do they say about talking to morons.

You have to pick your battles. Some ppl are just trolls.

Going by comments by reed in new interviews hes obviously reading here and other boards. Be mindful of that

I haven’t been on here in years, so don’t know if anybody remembers me - but no matter.

This thing is bad news and not likely to go away. It hasn’t even aired on HBO yet, but it already has coverage in the mainstream media - New York Times, Washington Post. Oprah is supposedly interviewing Robson and Safechuck. Wait until it actually airs, the fallout will be overwhelming.

All I can say is that this will do damage and I don’t think any effort by the family or fandom is likely to move the needle. Simply because the preconception is that the fans and family will defend Michael no matter what. On the other hand, Robson and Safechuck sound credible and most people think Michael was weird anyway. It won’t take much to convince them - a carefully filmed, sympathetic account is more than enough.

I see no path to rehabilitation absent explicit evidence of a coordinated, intentional smear campaign by Robson and Safechuck. And I don’t see how anybody proves that. Alternatively, perhaps emphatic statements by other men who were boys around Michael might help. But even that is suspect, because the argument would be that just because he didn’t molest “Johnny”, that doesn’t mean he didn’t molest Wade.

Basically Michael Jackson’s legacy can’t win and the fandom has to prepare for a new normal - much like the environment around the trial. But this time with no hope of redemption.

Sorry for the dark sentiments.

What sort of things is he saying? I'd watch clips of him but think I would feel ill. In my lifetime I've had quite enough of a look at smug ugly white men who hate MJ and themselves

As I said before, the official MJ social media (Fb, Twitter, Insta) are are off that, one post every day and what a post (BS).

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

what can the estate really do beside filing that lawsuit? Every pervert in the industry is backing up this doc and there are many of them and are super powerful. All the attention is now shifted from them to MJ and this is what they want. They want a break from the metoo movement by deflection and they are working hard for it. ALL OF THEM.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

They should have hired a big time P.R firm from the begining to go after every lie that reed and co is pushing. Create statement/tweets etc that disect one by one every lie that is told in every interview. Continually push out the facts. Go after them on a personal level. Theres one way hes not got skeletons consodering all the perverted comments hes coming out with. And even if the mainstream media wont report on sich statements and tweets there is us to push out the info. Instead we are been left to do everything when they have millions at their disposal

You are assuming there is a big time PR firm willing to help them. We all know who owns the big PR firms so no they will not attack their own. Plus, as much as I would like to think otherwise, the estate executors are buddies with many of those after MJ. All the big names in Hollywood are perverts and want desperately to deflect from their own wrong doing. Before MJ's death it worked perfectly for them, even after his death Weinstein used his buddies to create a scandal for MJ to deflect from any attention brought to his crimes. Would Branca expose them? Would he do what Jeff Bezos did? No, he will not. If he does, they will go after him. He knows that very well.

Re: ElusiveMoonwalker

I can see not trying to go all out so that they don’t give the story more oxygen. But at this point it has already hit the fan and they have to do damage control. It’s a fine balance - they could be perceived for trying to silence the victims. That could backfire too. Maybe they are still waiting to see how the HBO thing will go. But it’s going to be bad no matter what - especially the way they are airing over two nights. It will be a frenzy.

That’s ok. I was here from before This Is It was announced and in the aftermath, so not a newbie at all. Just calling it like I see it - nothing curious about it.

Thoughts? Its a guy who believes a scene in LN is faked. I mean, I saw this in the trailer, now that I think of it, why would Michael film a birthday message for Wade when he was dressed up like that..clearly working or going on TV??? It's suggested that its a clip from an award with different audio pasted on top.

Money talks. Dont tell me even some tinpot firm wouldnt take on the job. Heck a P.R student could do it. Its not rocket science. You hire someone whos sole purpose is to go through every interview and disect. Heck they could use someone in house to do it.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Even the two articles in New York Times and Washington Post are far from factual. The writer for WP is an obvious hater who never liked MJ while alive and was angry he had to cover his news while alive and upset that MJ received the outpouring of love he received after death and find this documentary as a way to finally go back and be able to trash him without feeling he was in the minority. This seems the case with pretty much every critic who has written on this doc. It cannot be denied that they have chosen those who are known to hate him and would jump at any opportunity to trash him. What I found astonishing is that they are presenting MJ as someone who was above questioning until this doc came out. like seriously?! How can the media who always belittled him, claimed he was a has been, praised any of his peers while downplayed his achievements and was desperate to crown any new act as the new king of pop just to dethrone him, act like he was super powerful, untouchable, no one would have believed the victims...etc? How could they advocate this narrative when for decades they called him a freak with no chance of being accepted by the masses until his death and the public reaction which took them by surprise. Now they want to erase from our memory what they themselves claimed to be his undisputed reality? How come? that's when you know it is all planned.

which takes us to my second point: will they risk going after the real people behind this? No, they will never do that. Maybe at this stage they really believe that they will get paid a lot in damages so be it.

Well, in the first place, it fits the narrative - all recent, high profile sex abuse scandals have involved powerful men - Weinstein, R Kelly, Spacey. So it’s easier to present this as just another case.

On the other hand, in the late 80s, early 90s, up until the first allegation, Michael was all-powerful, untouchable and the most famous man in the world. That part is true. Even with the unflattering articles that started cropping up, he was universally revered. The “freak” part came much later.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Where do you see anyone saying these clowns sound credible? All over Twitter and youtube. etc. they're being called out bigtime. And Oprah is getting shredded for doing this to a dead icon that's not here to defend himself and her obvious hypocrisy.

Of course after this crap airs, some are going to trash MJ, but there are going to be even more that call out the one-sidedness and the bad acting etc.

And you have to ask yourself if they really had the goods on MJ, why are the mouthpieces selling this doc so hard and unchallenged before it airs? It's like they know many are going to call BS on this mess once the public sees it.

But since 1993 the media have said he was a has been and a pariah who no one wanted to touch and was the butt of the jokes and they continued with this narrative until his death (and many of them long after that till this very day) Now all of a sudden they want everyone to believe he was still very powerful when he died and his accusers were afraid to talk! This contradicts everything they claimed for 26 years. What is more astonishing is this new tendency to present him as the most talented entertainer to have ever lived. Like since when?! They have been trying to downplay everything he had done for decades, but since his death they have figured out that people do love his art so now the argument is yes we accept he was a great artist but please support us in erasing his legacy because he was a paedo. Even those who claimed they are fans but now they believe he is guilty after watching the doc are not really fans. No fans was invited to the Sundance screening nor to any private screening. HBO do not want any challenge to the accusers. Most of the blue ticks who are in support of this doc have a history of hating on him. Some of them did say that frankly in their tweets minutes before they watched it. I have seen minutes of their interviews. They are so insincere. James looking to wade all the time before he answers anything seeking validation, assurance that he is not saying anything wrong. It is so obvious they are acting. Trying so hard to look sad. and i mean who in his right mind would believe the rings story. like seriously. That's why the 'love story' is very important, they loved his so hard they still do, they have lied to protect him. but he told his mom he was evil in 2005 and he hang up on him in 2005 so what love story are they talking about? why did he keep the rings until now if he hand up on him on 2005?! one needs to be one hell of a hater to to ignore how ridiculous this story sounds. Many of the blue ticks cite this story as the most compelling evidence of his credibility. "He was shaking while holding the box with the rings!" **** off.

Not really true. Then I first I heard of him he was almost always called w**** j**** around 1985. I was 11. There were storys about plastic surgery, him sleeping in a gas shamber, Bubbles etc. I kind of missed Thriller. I liked Beat it and Billie Jean but did’t know it was him singing. You who are to young to remember the 80 will not understand what it was like with paper magazines coming out every other week, two tv channels and a few radio channels. When Janet had her break through in 86 I remember it like every article about her was positive and every article about Michael was negative. In 87 the question was would w**** j**** be able to make a comeback, 5 years since Thriller came out. Lots of negativity in the press but the bad album and tour was a huge success and that is about the time I really became a fan. As long as I can remember fans have been defending him but I think the negativity started after the Victory tour with the Jacksons in 84. This was what was written in the swedish press ofcourse but they often quoted the Sun and ”papers” like that.
