Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Yeah but many of those who watched are calling it trash. And some people reacted the day they saw it but now going back thinking about it and what is coming out about these guys (what we are doing is helping along with Taj and Brandy and others) many are seeing through it. I can care less about haters.

I agree. There was more outrage when it first aired but as you said thanks to the efforts of the fans as well as Taj and Brandi more people are seeing this for what it is.

Of course there are haters. They've always been around and will continue too.

The pushback against the documentary has been quite good I must say and hopefully when the estate goes to court, it will help even more.

This Joy Robson interview from 2011 should be send to YouTubers who make rebuttle videos to LN, that they can use it.

Joy Robson is absolutly unsympatic for me.
It is interesting when she said when the dance career went wrong "You always should have a Plan B".
Was her Plan B she would have then since the 90ies or in 2011 to accuse MJ and making Money out of it after Wades dancing career went wrong?

She also said arrogant that MJ only worked on two music videos with Wade like she had expect more.

The point is the estate said we were caught by surprise and our side should have been presented. Now, are they going to present their side or keep fooling us with it was a flop, let it die we don't want to bring attention to it. Those who are interested in the truth will turn to hear the other side but the other side must present their case. Especially the celebrities who would like to take MJ's side but are terrified of doing so. They are in desperate need of something 'official' to rely on when they side with him. Fans videos are not enough, period. Paul McCartney in an interview in Spanish has said people should not mute MJ for discovering aside to him that was not public before! We will hear more and more of similar comments as long as the estate has not addressed this documentary in a proper manner.

Edited: This is what Paul actually said

Paul McCartney has said in an interview with a Spanish radio station that he can ‘Understand why people will stop listening to michaels music because there’s a side to him which was never seen before .!

This from someone who is still salty that MJ brought his catalog.
I will still try to be fair to Paul because some comments can be misintepeted.

Paul is still mad that MJ bought the overrated Beatles catolog. Screw him and his boring bland music. MJ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The Beatles.

I always thought the Beatles were mega overrated and they only mad it so far in the industry because they were white. Had they been black like MJ, they would have struggled big time.

Yeah especially 10. years before the Jackson 5 started where racism was muuuch stonger and they couldn't impress the audiance with dancing like the J5.
J5 were in many ways better then the beatles and the grup harmonizing when they sung together sounded much better.
For me absolutly gold in the motown days with Jemaine on bord.
MJs best male duet partner for me.

Thought the Bunny Ears podcast with Wierd Al and Mac was especially sweet. Love their deadpan sense of humor and liked that Mac said Michael played Wierd Al's videos all the time.
All the better that Paris was watching from backstage.
Nice to see loyal people.

Yeah that's great stuff. Mac very clearly makes fun of this because it IS ridiculous and isn't about real victims at all. Yet sites like Hotnewhiphop wonders if Mac's stance has changed.... looool. Dumb ****s.

They wonders that kind of stuff because that is the evil inside of them to desire such a thing to happen. Glad Mac and Al did this. Very good.

I’ve always felt that they were great songwriters but that other people (in my opinion most have been black) did their songs better.
For example, I like Paul in “yesterday”, but Donny Hathaway to me did a better job with that song.

I know it must make him mad to know that 1) Michael will always be on their level and no amount of pretentiousness from their “we listen to real music” fans and the media will change that and 2) Michael outsmarted them all.
I will always love Michael for the simple fact that he pissed all of them off and didn’t “stay in his place” like they thought he should.

Here's an interview with Chris Tucker where he says Michael would let him to Neverland, even if Michael wasn't there. Now, if Michael was the serial child molester like some people claim he was, then why would he let people go to Neverland without him there, and risk evidence being discovered?
It's mentioned at 6:53

New stuff? Because that would mean his first public talk about it since this filth aired.

Oprah does not care what black people think of her. Her latest actions show that she is still hell bent on destroying his legacy. She has called out everyone to mute him and is taking steps herself to do so by erasing her interview with him from the Internet. God knows what she is doing behind closed doors. Speaking with other celebs and her politician friends to do the same speak publicly against him to mute him. She does not want this frenzy to die down.

Losing her black support is probably the worst thing for her. If a large amount of black people especially if they are big enough names (for example I don’t see it happening, but Will Smith or Beyoncé) decide to be done with her the rest will follow.Black people in many ways have a huge influence on pop culture and set trends on what’s in and what’s not amongst the masses. Also she has their support, but if it gets too close to exposure for them they are throwing her under the bus to protect themselves.

I'll add En Vogue's rendition of "Yesterday." Awesome!
That's the thing, they're pissed that Michael had surpassed them, a black man mind you. They're way of trying to get revenge now is to destroy Michael completely, but it'll never work. They will reap what they sow.

Oprah will not erase Michael, and she never will. We should be muting her. Look how she do... She’s not really for black people, she never was. She sold her soul to the devil, her and Gayle King. I think they’re both lesbians, and Stedman was the beard. Yep, I said it! I muted her ass a long time ago. She never really supported Janet after Les Moonves was removed from CBS. Matter of fact, I don’t remember any celebrities showing their support for Janet after that matter. These people are total flakes, just like politicians.

I got that interview saved on my computer, so I’m good. #MuteOprah
Thank you!
They are all fake and people should’ve realized by now how they all operate.
They do not like that family at all.
The Jacksons, especially Michael and to an extent Janet, have had these people mad for decades.
They keep trying to take them down (especially Michael) and yet it never prospers, it just gets stronger.
You’re a feminist and defend all women... unless it’s a Jackson
You support all victims of abuse... unless it’s a Jackson
Verbal and cyber bully should not be allowed...
Unless it’s a Jackson
They lack common sense and critical thinking with that family and I don’t know how they deal with the bs.

I don't want to give TMZ any hits but they're reporting this about Michael and "The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame"

Michael Jackson might be getting muted on various platforms in the wake of "Leaving Neverland" ... but the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ain't gonna be one of them.

MJ's two slots in the HOF will stay put and won't be removed or altered in any way ... despite the allegations made in HBO's doc about the singer. The reason is simple ... according to an HOF official -- music is music is music.

HOF honchos say Jackson, as with all of its inductees, was recognized for musical excellence and talent, along with having a lasting impact on rock 'n' roll. In other words, MJ changed music, like, forever.

What's more ... Michael was voted into the Hall (twice) by a voting body of historians, fellow musicians, and music industry professionals. He got in with the Jackson 5 in 1997, and again as a solo artist in 2001, when 'NSYNC inducted him.

As for whether his HOF exhibit might be changed at all -- possibly even removing memorabilia -- our HOF sources say it all stays the same.

It's interesting ... a children's museum in Indianapolis recently removed three pieces of MJ memorabilia items in the wake of Wade Robson and James Safechuck's claims.

Not in Cleveland, though. Once a HOFer, always a HOFer ... or so it seems.

In fact, Michael could come up again at this year's HOF induction. Janet Jackson's going into the Hall and there's a lot of speculation about whether she'll mention her brother and the 'Neverland' allegations. It's going down March 29 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center

Of course he's staying! The media is so over the top when it comes to Michael. They're trying to get Michael banned/removed from everywhere. That's all this is about.

Yes I love their version and also I agree with your quote.
They’re mad that this black man was able to be successful in spite of them and literally become the epitome of pop culture.
He didn’t ask them to sit at the table, he forced his way there and took the head seat and they don’t know how to act.
It looks bad now, but I have a feeling that one day everything will come into place for Michael and he will be vindicated.

The media is so full of it. I don't see any backlash anywhere on my part. Some people I spoke to brought up that mockumentary, and all of them said that it wasn't credible. That's good enough for me right there! They didn't buy it. Michael will never be banned! NEVER!

It's not new, but I thought it was worth mentioning

That's very unfortunate. I definitely thought he'd be one of the people that would openly support him, but i guess every ****ing soul in Hollywood nowadays is scared as hell of being accused of victim blaming or something, sigh.

Had I been a celeb and no matter if I had known MJ personally or not... I would have defended him all the way!

I truely believe that now more than ever. You do not see them bothering Elvis.

Washington Post need to shut up and deal with their own drama with someone in there camp exposing himself to someone and for LYING on those students who are suing the paper.
