I hope no one beat me to it and made a similar thread like this one. Anyway, here are some outstanding clips of Michael dancing. For all those who want to post, please no music videos!! Only live concerts.

These two
these two videos were hands down the best clips ever made, and YT took them down  Why? It makes no sense!! And the uploader doesn't have anymore copies of it, she uploaded it to megaupload.com but not enough people downloaded it to stay online :( I wish more MJ fans would get into his earlier work (pre-Thriller) in general because they're missing out a lot. Instead of waiting for the new album which won't come out until 2014  Indulge yourself with listening and watching old footage I say!! Its almost scary how well he could dance at such a young age. Theres this Jackson 5 performance, I can't remember what it was (if someone can identify it please tell me!) where he does the James Brown move, just as good as he did it when he was an adult.:mello:

Ohh, ohhh. Here. WATCH Michael on the "Dangerous" tour, look at how amazing this is. I've never seen ANYONE move with that much speed and accuracy all at the same time, or anyone who was so able to get all of their energy in to the most minute movements. THAT'S coordination. He has so much strength and pronounciation in each movement that he looks like a coild spring, just wound up tight, which explodes out in a controled and measured way each time he goes in to a step, before recoiling back in.

Same thing with the Bad tour. He's just so incredibly fast and clean, it freakin' blows my mind.

The funny thing to is, as amazing as Michael's dancing is on tour, you aren't even getting to see him at his best because he's tired from singing and dancing for 2 plus hours every other night and travling to a new city or a new country every week. He's even better when he gets to do one off performances and on film because he's rested. Yet no one is as good as him on tour either.

I'll watch your videos later floacist. I'm a bit tired right now. But I agree with you, people should also take note of his earlier dancing. I think the clip you're thinking of with Michael doing the James Brown shuffle is from American Bandstand in 1970. Is he wearing a brown vest? Looking at Michael when he was 10, 11 years old is incredible, because seeing that much raw, natural talent for dance in a kid who's never had a dance lesson, never taken classes or had training, it just proves further that Michael's the most talented dancer, in terms of raw, natural ability, nobody touches him.

Yeah I think he had a brown vest on, with a lot of colorful clothing to add, lol. I'll have to do the same with your videos because its late and I want to enjoy them completely so, lol. :)

Yeah, I think he had on a pink shirt. Anyway, he did the same thing on The Hollywood Palace video, which I think was the Jackson Fives first TV appearance. He was busting out the shuffle almost as good as James Brown himself, at the age of 10. Just crazy. The thing was, once the J5 got to Motown, they sort of took away Michael's dancing from the act in the way it had been. His dancing had been a big draw for the group before they signed to Motown and Michael did a lot more of it before, and then he had to do what he was told and was relagated to the Jackson Five choreography, which really didn't display what kind of talent he had as a dancer. When he did Motown 25, people were like surprised at what an incredible dancer he was, lol. Because he'd been restricted for so long. Of course, he'd been doing stuff just as amazing before, with the Variety Shows and on the Destiny and Triumph tours, but he didn't get big exposure until he struck out on his own.

I watched your videos. They're fantastic. The first two wouldn't play though, sadly. But when Michael does the James Brown shuffle, or the mashed patatoes, it's incredible looking. On the one from 83, with the blue jacket, it's INSANE how fast he is. And then he does that Bob Fosse pose coming out of the shuffle, and it's just perfect, so clean and tight. Man, it's crazy how good he is, it really is.

I think Michael has the best robot I've ever seen too. I mean, the way he incorporates pantomime in to his dancing too is amazing. When he acts like he's stuck in a box, or when he pulls himself along a rope! He really looks like a robot!

I know!!! And its so cute because he was so skinny as a stick its like this little string bean moving around

lol, I know. Looking at how skinny Michael is, you wouldn't think he would be able to move the way he does, you wouldn't think he was strong enough, but he defies logic, because he moves like lightening and he has so much strength and umph in his movement.

I'm interested in his earlier stuff :). I *LOVE* it. I love seeing what MJ did to get where he did later. He obviously just didn't start dancing out of nowhere. He's been dancing his whole life! It's really remarkable! And I love the goldmine of MJ videos that are on YouTube. There are soooo many! And seeing clips of The Jacksons Variety Show or just a clip of them in concert are great, especially when you see Mike spin & tap and see all these things that are precursors to the amazing numbers he'd later be remembered for.

These are some of my favorites:

The lockin' - er, correct me if I'm wrong on that - is just SICK here

He must have loved being able to do numbers from the greats that inspired him (even if he didn't like doing the show, and even though it's a little funny that he was partnered romantically with his sisters sometimes, lol)

I looooooveeee this one! He is just sooooo smooth!

He taps as well as the guest tappers (er, I forget their names)

I just love seeing the whole family go at it at once!

As corny as this is, it's so much fun! The moves are simple, but it doesn't matter cuz MJ is so darn sharp & precise. You can easily see that he is very much that coiled spring ready for action but that he has a good deal of control & constraint too. It's incredible if you think about it :D.

I adore watching that clip! MJ's just lightning fast and he's so sweet & humble, just like James Brown says. That was such a nice, simple lil' tribute to James.

It makes watching this clip all the more special - just think! 20 years later, Mike would on stage again with his idol to once again blow minds! *Dreamy sigh*

No doubt it - Mike was a wonder kid and turned into the all-around you-can't-hold-a-candle-to-me wonder guy XD. That's why I loved seeing MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Thriller tribute episode. They had nothing but oodles of praise for MJ, and they incorporated his moves into their performances without straight-up ripping them. It was fun, and I think emphasizes MJ's indelible mark on the whole of the entertainment field ^_^.

I think I remember this one.. and you right its one of the best. I didn't even know they took it off Youtube. But great thing I saved the video when it was on youtube.
