Dangerous 2LP 33RPM & SACD announced

Does anyone of you have the "normal" and the MoFi vinyl and compared both? Does it really make a big difference or is it more like a "when you listen very closely to the base drum at 1:46 then it's slightly different!" ? 😅 I'd love to buy it, but only if it's really a new listening experience...
MoFi do a spectacular job with both the mastering and the manufacturing. If you love Dangerous and know it well, you're going to want this.

Not having heard it yet, the sound quality is predicted to be:

SACD > MoFi CD > Sony CD > MoFi vinyl > Unplayed Sony vinyl > SE CD > Played Sony vinyl

If your main way of listening to the album is a vinyl from the 90s, anything will be an improvement.

For me, the vinyl is just way too overpriced considering how impractical and inconvenient and fragile and non-portable it is.

Honestly, Thriller was a bit of a letdown. It actually sounded worse than the original SACD, which still holds up as the best-sounding version of the album. That said, it's still better than most of the reissues from the '80s, '90s, and today. Off the Wall is generally solid, though 2–3 tracks lack some high-end clarity. That seems to be due to the production choice of making every track sound tonally consistent, but songs like Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough really benefit from that extra sparkle, as heard on HIStory or the Off the Wall: Special Edition. As for Dangerous, mine arrives in a month… so we’ll see.

Edit: With other MoFi releases, it’s hit or miss. Their slower soul titles are usually great, but when it comes to artists like MJ or the Eagles, the results can be underwhelming, especially considering the price. The label "Original Master Recording" makes you expect a remaster that preserves the original sound as closely as possible, but in reality, it just means it’s sourced from the original master tape. Some of their releases sound noticeably different from the original versions.

The 1999 SACD's right channel is delayed by 1.34198 samples, so it suffers from phasing issues.

🤓

Turns out the first copies of the SACD have a few issues. Channel imbalance on Jam, a click on the left channel at the beginning of the first chorus of Give in to Me. These are the flaws I could spot so far. We'd have to know whether these are issues with the SACDs only or vinyl copies are also affected.

Update:

I've listened to the SACD top to bottom. It seems only Jam and Give in to Me are messed up. Besides the click, there are weird "artifacts" also on the left channel throughout the song.

Now, on a positive note: the low-end shines through like it does on the OG vinyl record. Who Is It is a highlight.

I'm hoping MoFi is gonna be willing to fix the flawed tracks and repress the SACD.

which don't?

Even changed the edit. Look at 9:10 and 9:25. They don’t show the part where he goes with his hand to his crotch part where he pulled up his zipper. Insane.
I'm thinking they may have worked with the censored master or something.

The censored version has all the missing shots, most likely just grabbed a random tape and ended up with a work in progress version befor ethe final edit and VFX was done

My take on the SACD: Worst sounding release of Dangerous so far. Not only does it have issues on three of the tracks but it's also a very dull master

Possible you got a faulty rip? Mine doesn't have any issues. Repress?
Not a faulty rip.
There's two SACDs for Thriller, one from 1999 and one from 2000.

The one from 2000 is the one that is free of issues and was released into streaming platforms. (Specifically Qobuz, the hi-res version available is actually a PCM conversion of the SACD master from 2000)

Can someone share a rip of the SACD with me? Send a dm.. Thanks!
What the heck?
Buy it. Or don’t buy it.

But don’t clamor for a rip, if most of the people who bought this thing with there own money, don’t even hold it in their hands yet!

The nerve of some „fans“…

checked all of them and mine was the 2006, all the other including Qobuz have the phasing issue

Oh really? well, to be fair, I'm going off of memory here. (except for the 1.34198 samples part, that I just copy pasted lmao)
