Had to read this 5 times but I think I agree.History as mofi it should also already exist have seen
MoFi do a spectacular job with both the mastering and the manufacturing. If you love Dangerous and know it well, you're going to want this.Does anyone of you have the "normal" and the MoFi vinyl and compared both? Does it really make a big difference or is it more like a "when you listen very closely to the base drum at 1:46 then it's slightly different!" ?I'd love to buy it, but only if it's really a new listening experience...

Not having heard it yet, the sound quality is predicted to be:
SACD > MoFi CD > Sony CD > MoFi vinyl > Unplayed Sony vinyl > SE CD > Played Sony vinyl
If your main way of listening to the album is a vinyl from the 90s, anything will be an improvement.
For me, the vinyl is just way too overpriced considering how impractical and inconvenient and fragile and non-portable it is.
The 1999 SACD's right channel is delayed by 1.34198 samples, so it suffers from phasing issues.Honestly, Thriller was a bit of a letdown. It actually sounded worse than the original SACD, which still holds up as the best-sounding version of the album.
Possible you got a faulty rip? Mine doesn't have any issues. Repress? The 1999 SACD's right channel is delayed by 1.34198 samples, so it suffers from phasing issues.

Update:Turns out the first copies of the SACD have a few issues. Channel imbalance on Jam, a click on the left channel at the beginning of the first chorus of Give in to Me. These are the flaws I could spot so far. We'd have to know whether these are issues with the SACDs only or vinyl copies are also affected.

Even changed the edit. Look at 9:10 and 9:25. They don’t show the part where he goes with his hand to his crotch part where he pulled up his zipper. Insane.and another crap upscale
I'm thinking they may have worked with the censored master or something.Even changed the edit. Look at 9:10 and 9:25. They don’t show the part where he goes with his hand to his crotch part where he pulled up his zipper. Insane.
I noticed like 1-2 other as well afterEven changed the edit. Look at 9:10 and 9:25. They don’t show the part where he goes with his hand to his crotch part where he pulled up his zipper. Insane.
The censored version has all the missing shots, most likely just grabbed a random tape and ended up with a work in progress version befor ethe final edit and VFX was doneI'm thinking they may have worked with the censored master or something.
They had hinted at not wanting to recreate VFX for whatever reason back when the FAQ page was put online. Not surprising that we're not getting a proper restoration.
The short film was re uploaded because of this release, that's why.Why are we talking about BOW shortfilm in the MoFi Dangerous thread???

What the heck? Can someone share a rip of the SACD with me? Send a dm.. Thanks!
Calm down..What the heck?
Buy it. Or don’t buy it.
But don’t clamor for a rip, if most of the people who bought this thing with there own money, don’t even hold it in their hands yet!
The nerve of some „fans“…
checked all of them and mine was the 2006, all the other including Qobuz have the phasing issueNot a faulty rip.
There's two SACDs for Thriller, one from 1999 and one from 2000.
The one from 2000 is the one that is free of issues and was released into streaming platforms. (Specifically Qobuz, the hi-res version available is actually a PCM conversion of the SACD master from 2000)
Oh really? well, to be fair, I'm going off of memory here. (except for the 1.34198 samples part, that I just copy pasted lmao)checked all of them and mine was the 2006, all the other including Qobuz have the phasing issue
