Did MJ Find Love In The Dark (continued)

Thanks for that info, qbee! :) Mysterygirl7, I think I also remember reading at some point that MJ had initially written this song for another artist/band to record for some project, and I believe it was near to the year 2000 based on that information I had read. But this project and/or need for the song fell through, and so in 2004 for his Ultimate Collection CD, he pulled it off the shelf, sort of speak, and included it (the demo that he had done back then). Does anyone else remember coming across this as well? It certainly made me rethink in this way that perhaps he wasn't writing lyrics from a personal slant, but writing them to suit this project. I know that makes things less romantic...uh oh...I'm in trouble now!

Maybe I can redeem this by including a song that I would say is very romantic.

I was going through an old box of cassettes I had packed away and saw one that was labeled as a hodgepodge of songs, so I popped it in my only remaining cassette player (so obsolete) and a song started playing that took me back very far in time. I remember liking it very, very much at some point of time in the eighties. It just seemed to be a very special account of a man and his woman...

A medley/duet: Woman/You're the Man That I Love

Here's an article I came across, also, of a gentleman who had a special experience with this song some 23 years ago. :)

MP, it's your turn...another song please!!!! :D

EDIT: I'm having some trouble getting the video to appear, but the link below it should work.

I'm so sleepy. I should be in my bed asleep instead of here. I had a question (though maybe none would answer). How many who read in here have found love. We are all such a bunch of romantics, I would love to hear about someone's true story of love. Did you have it before being a DMJFLITDer or after? How has it shaped your view of this thread or this thread shaped your view on love?

That's what I'm wondering about tonight while I should be asleep.

Goodnight all!

On another topic; here's a movie I was blessed to be a part of. It's not a main character, just a little part, but I'm proud of this one. They are doing a great job I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-K9X3nEPrU

hey Ape :) I feel like its been a long time since I've been on here around the same time frame as you, I just came on to congratulate you. This looks like a very interesting movie! You are blessed to attract significant stories to be told and its wonderful that you share with us so we can see the 'anatomy of a film career' :D I trust you'll let us know when we can see it. It looks like a very good movie :photoflash: to own a copy of as well. It also seems like the type of movie where the premier party, cast party and any other parties are probably a blast to be at as there seem to be so many different people involved.

As for finding love before during or after becoming a DMFLITDer ( that was funny the way you put that) can't wait to find out what kinds of responses you get
Thanks again for sharing :flowers:

MP, I love that dance routine from..yes, I believe that is from Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, one of my most favorites! ('cause the song, You've Got to Eat your Spinach, Baby, cracks me up!). I also really liked the dance routine in "Military Man", that Shirley does with Alice Faye and Jack Haley (which was fun to see him in a role besides his famous one as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz). I remember as a little girl loving this one part of that routine and when I watched it now, I still love it, it's at 3:05 to about 3:40, for it takes them about that long to complete the cycle, I think:

Also, MP...strange, strange, strange, the song that I woke up to now for two days in a row...and I'm thinkin' what could this possibly have to do with MJ and his LITD girl? Here it is, and it actually begins at 12 seconds...it's an oldie all right...but I kept hearing in my mind the line "buffalo gal..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSujn5K2lS8

Maybe it is because, which I just discovered when I looked up the lyrics, that the end line is...

"won't you come out tonight and we'll dance to the light of the moon"

Now that sounds like Michael. :)

Then early this morning I woke up to an Elvis song, of all things...so I looked up that song to see the lyrics. The first line reminds me of Christmas in a way, lol, becuase of the (Three) Wise Men...but the song is not about Christmas:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqv5b0UjR4g

Now that's a romantic song!

(once again the videos are not showing up for me...can't figure out what's up...they are saying they do not exist...sorry! But the links below them do work.)

I like that routine also! I love Shirley Temple!

Cute! That does sound like him - anything that has to do with the moon. Btw, wasn't that song sung in "It's a Wonderful Life"? I'm glad I'm not the only one hearing silly songs like this in my head. It will give me more courage to post them sometimes when they come up!

Oh my goodness! This IS a romantic song! It has to be my absolutely favorite Elvis song! Swoon, swoon, swoon! (On a side note: this also happened to be my mother's wedding song). My second favorite is probably "Kentucky Rain." And recently I've been liking a rare song of Elvis' called "A Little Less Conversation."

(once again the videos are not showing up for me...can't figure out what's up...they are saying they do not exist...sorry! But the links below them do work.) lol! Kinda like the LITD -- they don't exist!

Here's "Kentucky Rain." Reminds me more of a song the LITD would sing to MJ though, on a never-ending search for him and trying to find answers to all the mysteries and wondering when her search should finally just end ... with the rain in her shoes ...

BTW, LITDers ...

I wonder if this happens to anyone else, where sometimes away from this board or a computer, thoughts come that would be good to share here or a question to ask the group, then comes time to settle down relax and pull up the thread and poof ... gone. That ever happen to anyone else  ? ... something I wanted to ask you guyz ...

I know it's a bit late :fear:  but I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas  and that 2013 is a wonderful year for all of us! :woohoo:

Happy New Year to all! I think maybe we can find some films which can fit our theme here. The film "The Lake House" (was it mentioned in this thread before?), I haven't watched it, but read the short contents, can it fit somehow to our theme here, can someone give the parallels? Would be great if someone remembers more films that might fit our fictional story. Would be great to watch.

here are some links for those who are gone much too soon, have been to a funeral recently, my cousin has gone with 39, his mother was at a funeral in a wheel-chair, heartbreaking to watch, she just have got out of a hospital after she was hit by a car and next day after she was at home her son died in a hospital.

Michael Jackson "Best of Joy":

Another link is a cute video with a song by Selena "Dreaming of you" but with MJ pictures in the video, she was gone with 24.

I just wanna hold you close but so far
All I have are dreams of you
So I wait for the day and the courage to say
How much I love you
Yes I do
I'll be dreaming of you tonight
'Til tomorrow I'll be holding you tight
And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me

:girl_sigh:

 *big sigh*

Lyrics:

(All the world's great lovers have been glorified
History placed them in a romantic set
In between book covers they are side by side
But the real thing hasn't been written yet)

Now it can be told
Told in all it's glory
Now that we have met
The world may know the sentimental story

The greatest romance they ever knew
Is waiting to
Unfold

Now it can be told
As an inspiration
Every other tale
Of boy meets girl is just an imitation

The great love story
Has never been told before
But now
Now it can be told

here's a song I came across, the lyrics is in the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLDw2BiMQ84&NR

MJ "Another Day".

Some of the text:

My life has taken me beyond the planets and the stars
And you're the only one that could take me this far
I'll be forever searching for your love

I walked away but I was wrong
I can't make it another day
You're the one that makes me strong
I can't make it another day

You're the fire that keeps me warm
I can't make it another day
How did I get through this storm?
I can't live another day without your love

At night I pray before I sleep in hope of finding you
I've opened up my heart I want you to come through
I've closed my eyes, I'm searching for your love

So maybe MJ wanted to meet her in his dreams or to hear her voice through the distance with closed eyes?

Off-topic: St. Valentines Day is never a Valentines Day for me but a birthday of my son who was born on February, 14 :)

To me that sounds so much like he's talking about God's love. I could be wrong though. I can also see it with the meaning you've said. Funny how very different interpretations can each look valid. :)

Yes as with all good art the interpretation is open to the listener or viewer, but the song is written by Lenny Kravits and is about a relationship with God. But expressions of love can be directed toward anyone, human or devine :) It was recorded with MJ during Invincible sessions and when it wasn't used on the Album Lenny reworked some of the lyrics and released the song in 2004 under the name Storm with JayZ
