Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone.

I signed up at MichaelJackson.com but someone said this was the place to be for MJ forums. So, here I am! :D

I am an J fan from the Thriller years. Played the album till the groves were about gone! I am also an 80's freak. I drive a 1983 near mint Lincoln Continental Mark VI.

I love (as well as my kids do) listening to my 1985 Sears full size Boombox and MJ cassette tapes.
Also love wearing my leather replica "Beat It" jacket.
I just got "Beat It" shoes delivered today. The ones that were made by Osiris. They are amazing!

Recently I got my kids into MJ. My son is 10 and my daughter is 8. They were both digging Justin a lot and I told them if they like that then they should check this out and I put Thriller in the tape deck on the Boombox. They have been hooked since! Nice to hear MJ coming from their rooms! :chillin:

I am also a BIG Star Wars fan and an amputee. I lost my leg 4 years ago in a motorcycle accident.
Also broke my hip very badly and have 28 screws holding it together and they removed my entire left back lat muscle. I have always been a fan of the worlds largest Star Wars costuming group called the 501st Legion. So, with much help was able to get a Stormtrooper Commander costume put together. I used my prosthetic leg in the design of the costume. With this, I do a lot of hospital visits for kids and spend most of my free weekends working for (with the 501st) the Wake A Wish Foundation and other children charities and hospitals. This past weekend we were at a library to kick off a summer reading program. It has been a wonderful blessing to be able to do this and help kids see that they can overcome any adversity and do anything they put their minds too. They see my leg and added with my costume they commonly make a connection with me and tell me that I'm their favorite. It is a BIG honor and responsibility not to mention because of my disabilities it is a physical challenge. Here is a few pictures of what I look like as a Stormtrooper:

For work, i am a professional custom Lightsaber builder and run a forum with many other saber builders and Star Wars props builders. Should be able to click the thumbnails to make them bigger.

It is great to be here and thanks for making this forum available!!!

WOW, COOL :punk:

Welcome to MJJC

It's GREAT and REWARDING when you can 'overcome' your 'disability' and show the 'healthies' that you're still someone...
I know peeps GAWK at us but a lot of them RESPECT us as we're STRONGER then them cause we have to try harder...

Oh, I'm Daryll here and I have a Titanium friend in my neck spine and my right hand is 'reinforced' with a silicone brace as my 'tendons' are 'damaged beyond repair'

I HOPE you have fun here...
Yep, we're the BIGGEST... the BADDEST... the BEST... MJ forum around :tease:
and above all... it's "DISABLED FRIENDLY" ...

Well thanks for the welcome my titanium friend! I bet with the titanium between the two of use we could buy a nice car!
I love overcoming adversity. I have always been a rebel and never one to submit to much of anything. It can be a good thing and then again it can get me into trouble sometimes. Oh, i also donate time to work at a prosthetic and orthotic clinic. We make a lot of braces of all kinds. So, I understand fully what your going through. Also had to wear a brace when I still had my leg. We tried keeping it for a year. It was a waist of time, money and painful! Still is very painful but I can walk now so, give and take there a bit.

Not sure who can help but, I can't send PMs or see profiles (including mine) and the forum has stars on the sides and it makes the actual forum page too small so, I have to use a side scroll in order to see a whole post as it cuts the sides off. Please, someone HELP! Thanks ahead of time! ;)

Heehee :tease:
yep, it's 'funny' a lot of peeps don't know what a 'titanium friend' is
Oh and by the way, I named him 'Ortega' as I got him in May 2010...

Indeed, the sturdy brace is cause I won't DESTROY my hand any further but it gets on my nerves sometimes as it of course 'restricts' the stuff you wanna do...
Yep, I'm that kind of REBEL too... I guess that's WHY I got it in the first place...
I know my surgeon told me to rest and even the revalidation ward wants me to LIVE like a plant :beee:
But the Doc knows I'm a rebel so she 'gave' me that brace...

Anyway, If you have any PROBLEMS here with the site...
POP in 'Help and Information'
The other staff members are quite nice to 'solve' any prob you have...

Do you use the BAD 25 skin or the BLUE one?
I've changed from Blue to Bad 25 as the BAD25 skin is MORE 'centred' and you don't need to 'side scroll' any more...

Have a GREAT day, my fellow Titanium friend... :ciao:

Hi, AmpTrooper.

I had to post here on this thread, because this is the first time I see a fellow amputee on MJ boards. I lost my leg to a car accident while riding a bicycle last December, and currently getiing used to walking with prosthesis. I have a great admiration for you. Not only have you overcome your limb loss, but are even taking advantage of it and using it to inspire others!

Well, I want to mention that I like Star Wars also - first saw it in January during my boring stay in hospital, so I'm still quite a newbie SW fan though. (I know I'm really late!) Making lightsabers has to be the baddest work in this galaxy!!

Anyway, welcome to MJJC :)

Welcome to MJJC:ciao:
It´s great how you help children.

Well, nice to meet you fellow amputee. Hey, I forgot to mention I have a t-shirt company where all I make and sell t-shirts for amputees. They are all funny shirts. All the profit from it goes to the Hope Foundation. They help people get prosthetic limbs when they can't afford them. So, i don't use this to make money. I hope it is okay to post the link here. It is really something just for charity and to help people feel more comfortable with amputees.
There is about three pages of shirts so far. Check them out! They are funny!

Anywho, it is good to see another one legger! And great that your getting into Star Wars! There is a 501st Garrison in Japan too! Here is their link: http://www.501st.jp/
It is really big over there too. Probably about as big as it is here in the US. Japan also has the "dancing Stormtrooper"! Fun stuff! You could get some armor and join and do the same thing I am doing. It is a big blessing to others and yourself! Like I told am amputee in Florida who wants to join but wanted to make his costume like mine. I said the AmpTrooper is not just a name. It is what I am and what I am doing and any amputee can be an AmpTrooper.

Thanks for the reply :) Wow, you have a T-shirt company also! Inspiring!
That 501st Garrison seems to be a very special organization! Too bad I'm still under 18 so that I can't join.

Thanks! You can join! They have something called the Galactic Academy for people who are under 18. Let me know if your interested.

Welcome to the forum amptrooper. You are an inspiration.
I lost both kneecaps to a rare form of arthritis whilst in my 30's when my sons were only 7 and 8 years old. Walking has been a bit of a 'challenge' since then but we all do the best with the hand of cards we are dealt. My boys are grown men now and both Michael Jackson fans, I think I must have brainwashed them. lol
