It's been 15 years of inflation since This is It. Live concert ticket prices have shot up an a shocking rate. How much would you be prepared to spend if he toured next week?

For this, I'm ignoring the price of transport/parking/food/drinks/tshirt, which these days can easily add an extra $200 or so (and another few hundred for a hotel, lol).

Data: currently $1 = £0.79 = €0.93, and US inflation for the period was only 46%...

This is It was £75 in 2009. £115 today inflated.

I'd comfortably pay anything in the same scenario today. I couldn't really put a price on seeing someone like MJ live.

$641 or more
with other (as in flight, accomodation, food and drinks for you stay in a potentially foreign country) costs included over that sum, tho?
not to mention the possibilty of the performer rescheduling, cancelling or,in the best scenario, rushing through the show and delivering a substandard performance for whatever reason, eventually?
(do not get me wrong,I respect your opinion, although I still can't imagine buying such an expensive ticket to see pretty much anyone in concert, regardless of who they'd be or how great their show would be,all things considered..)

I forgot to say, assume he had the voice of a 66 year old, and that therefore the whole thing was 100% mimed.

I’d spend thousands, no doubt.
Why though? Just "because it's Michael Jackson"? Deep down you realize a 2-hour concert simply isn't worth that amount, right?

Wouldnt be very different from the history tour then lol

Seeing MJ in person is worth it imo.

It's been my dream since I was a kid, I'm 42 years old, yeah, it's worth it.

I wouldn't pay thousands to see anyone else though lmao, are you crazy?

I actually paid £613 to one of my TTI shows for front row on viagogo.. Yeah a that's a lot but well worth it and actually think that's a decent price for Michael and front row :p

£17.50 the price of a ticket I paid 27th August 1988 Wembley stadium London the best concerts performed during the Bad Tour

I’d spend thousands, no doubt.
When Michael was preparing to appear in London for his "This is It Concert" I willingly bought 3 tickets; I greatly looked forward to glorious nights in the company of this wonderfully great man, only to suffer the sadness of his untimely death which broke all our hearts. But his millions of fans have kept alive his fantastic legacy of music and dance, and this is the beacon we carry on into the future which keeps Michael's memory alive and strong in the journey ahead.

Exactly that. Because MJ is more than miming or not. Now bore off

Well considering my tickets for the 30th Anniversary concert in New York at Madison Square Gardens were $500 each, the question is kinda redundant.

I pity those who disparage Michaels concerts becuase they have only seen them on a phone screen. Those who talk out of their ass and sneer at the concerts really have no understanding of who Michael was.

Its tiresome for this troll and the type of tone to be on here on MJJC. Some people show again and again through their words just how little they know and understand Michael.

in fact, for those who, in accordance with the level of their development, are not able to understand some things, I explain that everyone’s financial capabilities are different and if a person (based on the needs of his family) cannot afford the very high cost of a ticket, then this is not means other people here should call him a troll or put him down in some other way. This is cheap behavior and the high cost of the purchased ticket does not justify this behavior

my maximum per show is 400-600 (depending on the program)
I would never go to concerts of other artists for this price on principle

I would spend 1000. A paycheck comes every month, a Michael Jackson concert rarely comes into your life...

To be fair, to me as a 14 year old who loves concerts, spending $644 on just the ticket is worth it because 1) it's Michael Jackson, 2) to me $644 is cheap for tickets. (for example, Sabrina Carpenter's Short 'N' Sweet Tour tickets were at least $700. And don't get me started on Taylor!) Also my dad is willing to pay for my ticket, merch, etc with our budget being $1,000 cuz he knows how much I enjoy the artist and concerts in general.
Obvi, this is my personal experience so it can be the complete opposite from yours and that's totally fine!

sorry :( I would have been super upset too

I voted $160 but, to be fair, I feel like if it was my only opportunity in life so see him perform I may pay over $600

I already paid 1.600 Pounds in 2009 for two tickets. We had the s. c. „Thriller Hospitality Package“.

So I‘d be spending big time to see MJ.
Or even to have him back & maybe just do a little more music and NO touring at all..
