Invincible album was destined to be a failure?

I don't think it was destined to flop, there were just too many hands on the project. I love Darkchild's work but I think the production is loud and messy on some songs and the mixes are muffled. Michael should've condensed the amount of people working on the album. He also had better songs he could've used.
Isn't that like the average mainstream popular album today? 😄 So that has little if anything to do with it. Like 15 writers for 1 song (with no samples either) and most of the album is features by whatever rappers that are popular at the moment. Mariah Carey's entire career after she got rid of Tommy Mottola is pretty much that and also releasing Christmas albums. A lot of the songs that were hits for acts like Nicki Minaj & Drake are not from their own records, but features on other artists songs.

It's more likely that Mike was starting to age out of Top 40. When was the last time Madonna (or U2) had a hit? She never stopped releasing records. Madonna & others like Bruce Springsteen does not not have the negative press that Mike got. I don't think the recent albums by Rolling Stones or Paul McCartney got on the Top 40 radio either. Top 40 has always been primarily marketed to teens & young adults who are less likely want to listen to their parents music and/or artists. Mike first had a record in around 1968 on Steeltown. Who else from that same time was still getting airplay on Top 40 in 2001?

Okay. You won. I need to make a confession... He is my brother. My stepbrother. We lived together sometime ago. But now I do not talk with him anymore. I promise you, I'm different person.
You’ve gotta be kidding me. How stupid do you think you are. How pathetic can you be? This is actually getting kinda funny. Have to admit I chuckled to myself when I read this.

Another reason why Invincible didn't sell as well compared to his previous albums (Even though it was succesful) could be because during the time of it's release illegal music download softwares like Napster and Kazzaa were a thing.

You don't like Invincible album, because of me (and I don't care btw, hah!), I don't like Invincible album, because of sleepy Michael. We are not the same!

Did you get stuck in the washing machine lol

The problem was that at the time more was being discussed about his private life than about his music. If Sony had done more to promote the tour, the album would have sold more.

Whatever Happens as a second single would have worked wonders.
Also Butterflies feat. Eve with a shortfilm.
