Is that true that MJ at the end of his life was suffering from anorexia and had a really low weight?

People claim, that during This is It rehearsal MJ was badly thin, and had a lot of problems with health... Some people claim he weighted lower than 50 kg and couldnt even dance well, because of his health problems. But others say that he was fully healthy and active and weighted more than 60 kg...

As for me, i dont really think, that its true. Because as far as i know MJ always been a little bit of thin. Its his normal shape of body, only during invincible era he gained a little bit of weight...

He was definitely thinner than usual during This Is It, 136lbs at 5ft 9in is frail. We all know that a woman that has those figures would be considered thin.. He had no muscle mass and clearly was not ok. To argue this because it is still in a 'healthy' range according to a chart is silly.. I am 5ft 9in 195lbs muscular/lean and I am considered 'obese' on a BMI chart.. These charts DR's are ancient and do not factor anything else in aside from height/weight.... We all can look at him and see he wasn't ok.. Now to say it was anorexia, that's a different topic, while he likely was not eating sufficient nutrients and calories - lack of sleep and rehearsals would most definitely drain a person. When you are not sleeping your body becomes desperate for nutrients and starts eating away at your body to feed the brain. Although, Michael has spoken about him not eating and the issues with it in the past!

According to his autopsy he was 5'9 and 136lbs. Which is considered a normal and healthy weight for someone of his height. And he apparently weighed less in the 80's at around 120lbs.

here you can see he is in a really good shape....

im 125 lbs and 5ft 8in. and even do sports. and i cant say that i have a shape of thin woman.... people are different. maybe these figures was ok for MJ...

He was weighting a concerningly low amount of weight after the trials, I heard he was weighting 85lbs but he managed to regain some of it throughout the years.

I wouldn't base his health around the This Is It rehearsals, he was drugged up most of the time and his health was collapsing, they edited the footage to make it look like he was fine but he was not, the parts where we even see him dancing he was high on Ephedrine.
The only time I ever saw Michael not thin was when he played the mayor in Ghosts
2002 MJ is the closest we'll ever get to fat MJ lmao.

and your muscle mass is likely higher than Michaels was. Those charts do not account for various variables.. Bone density, muscle mass etc. I'm 5ft 9in 195lbs lean - I'm considered 'obese' on a BMI chart.. Someone your height and weight can have 12% more body fat than you - that person would be under weight due to the lack of muscle mass needed to have proper strength for normal bodily functions.

It's like someone saying having cholesterol x# HDL is good without knowing the LDL. It doesn't work that way.

Michael Jackson struggled with anorexia nervosa not just at the end of his life but also when he was younger.

For example:

"I go through these serious food crises when I could go weeks without eating" (Michael Jackson, 'The Michael Jackson Tapes')

"When I get upset, I stop eating, sometimes until I'm unconscious" (Michael Jackson, 'Jesse Jackson Interview, 2005')

It has been also said that during the 'Dangerous' era they had to give him food intravenously (due to his refusal to eat).

In the 'This Is It' rehearsals, private e-mails that came to light suggest that anorexia nervosa continued to torment the singer.

Kenny Ortega was also forced to feed him on certain occasions during those rehearsals.

but here. you can see he is eating without ortega's forcing....

I don’t think Michael was any less thin at the end of his life than he was in the 80s.
He was apparently thinner in the 80's than he was in This Is It. So by that logic if he was unhealthy during This Is It because of his weight then he was unhealthy back in the 80's too.

I know things weren't all sunshine and roses during TII but I don't think Michael's weight was a problem

To the naked eye, Michael looked bigger in the 90s and early 00s than he did during the 80s. So when Michael was back to his 80s thinness during This Is It, people assume that he had weight issues. At least that is what I think.

His weight during TII was absolutely a problem when you consider he was losing weight rapidly due to his use of propofol and would have been losing even more by rehearsing and that's not even talking about the actual concerts.

Michael was eating around This Is It, we have enough to see that he was. I would believe that his frailness came more from the combination of sleep issues, and rehearsals. While Kai cooked some healthier meals, he must have not been getting proper nutrients and enough food to combat that tough rehearsals and the brain needing an absorbent amount nutrients to keep functioning. I'm not sure how often Michael was seeing Lou Ferrigno, but Michael could have gotten a lot more out of that relationship regarding health. Michael didn't have the healthiest diet considering what he was going through, even with Kai's cooking. example: many Red Bull's & Naked drinks

MJ was skinny his whole life, Although starting in the late 90's/early 00's. MJ had more weight on him (Dangerous 02 & Bashir 03) Although lost weight when the trial of 05 hit.

MJ during This Is It according to his autopsy was in normal BMI and if I remember correctly, weighted more than Thriller era MJ.

Problem is, being 50 years old with a skinnier weight range with poor sleep + drugs on the verge of 50 dates is when things don't go well. Michael "looked" frail but facts state that his BMI was in the normal range. Although I am sure 60 days of no REM sleep makes a person look like they are on the verge of collapsing.

EDIT: We have to also keep in mind when comparing MJ from early 00's to 2009, is that fashion changed. In 2002/2003, baggier clothes were in, by the time 2009 rolled around, skinny jeans were in. MJ was wearing baggier clothes in Dangerous 02 & 03 Bashir doc, but in multiple 09 This Is It rehearsals, MJ is wearing tight skinny jeans. Yes MJ was heavier in the early 00's, but also his clothing changed how his body looked also.

I think he looked a bit heavier than usual in 2002/3 but not much. American Bandstand and Apollo theater performances.
I also believe he was a tad bit “heavier” in 1989, while performing You Were There.

He was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa? I have never heard about this.
Not everyone who eats little/has unstable eating patterns and is too thin suffers from anorexia. There are clear criteria for diagnosing anorexia by a specialist.

Having read through this thread , the MJ fandom continues to disappoint me due to the denial around MJ's medical and mental problems by some.

He was so thin during those rehearsals that at times it looked like a skeleton wearing a wig. He had lost a significant amount of weight from the announcement at the O2 to the Staples Center.

He had always been thin as others have said apart from 2002 😂 but his clothes were literally hanging off him.

Did nobody see his legs when he was wearing those orange pants? His autopsy pics also show just how malnourished he was.

The strange thing is that facially, I thought it was the best he had looked in the 2000s , especially with the curls back too.

you are wrong. his weight was in normal area. 60 kg with 180 height is okay. my friend is 175 and his weight is 55 kg and he is also doing sports. that's why MJ's weight wasn't something to be scared of

BMI perhaps but BMI tells me that I'm obese for my weight, yet I've got a 6 pack 🤪

55kg? Man that is skinny as fck!! That's like what 8 and a half stone for an adult male? That's mental.

That type of weight would even be low for a small Asian man.

If you think that Michael's weight was fine , I need to ask what type of crack you are smoking? The man was ill!!!

Well if we're speaking of the This Is It Era (2009) then he appeared to be around the same weight range as he was during the Thriller era.

His weight would have been acceptable had he been in better health, but this was not the case.
Age 50 Michael: a hair burn, scalp reconstruction, addictions to painkillers and prescription drugs, child molestation accusations continuously contributed to poor health.

But Richard says you're wrong?

Exactly. He weighted even less during Thrillera era! That's why his weight during TII era was totally okay)
