I agree. I hope AEG does not back down just because they lost the court motion for sanctions against the Jacksons. I don't like supporting AEG. But I will support them in spite of the nastiness in those e-mails because to me, the Jacksons are no better. And they are blaming AEG for something that was not their fault. AEG is not perfect. But they are not to blame for what happened to Michael, in my opinion.

Ivy, Do you really think AEG will give the Jackson's a settlement? I can't believe they want to give them a dime! As much as I dislike Randy Phillips and AEG I truly believe if the Jackson's want to find the folks responsible for Michael's death they need only look in the mirror. What MJ had to put up with because of his own family for all those years is heartbreaking.

If they do get money they should donate it to one of Michael's favorite charities because it is blood money in my opinion. But if I look into my crystal ball, shortly after the settlement all of the Jackson's will be driving Bentleys and building brand new homes. All for the JackSUN"s!!!:ranting:

This is effing crap. There should be some order to ensure that in the off chance they do get a settlement the money is divided among all beneficiaries and in the case of the kids put in a trust that cannot be touched by the rest of the family.

I'm loathing this family right now. From the beginning this was never about justice for Michael, their son - brother, it was about justice for their personal bank accounts. I really hope the judge makes the right decision when the time comes, but the recent denial makes me wonder...

Somehow I do not think this judge will allow the case to be thrown out. I think AEG is dead set against offering any money to the Jacksons, and this can be seen by their relentless questioning of the parties involved. All I can hope for is that AEG really do some good preparation and have better experts than the one they used for the e-mail leak issue. When the Jackson side comes up with a better expert than AEG, then something is very wrong. AEG has money to hire the best. I guess Michael's money hired the better expert for the Jacksons.

Many people already think that that Big Business likes to push the little guy around, and will do anything to increase their profit margin. Potential jurors most likely heard about the e-mails and will have ideas about the AEG personnel. If they hear the e-mails and then listen to the Jacksons' lies/evidence, then AEG will be in a sorry state and so will Michael, if AEG does not have good evidence to refute all this. Anyway, regardless of who wins, Michael will be trashed, because both sides will trash Michael in order to win this case.

I don't know what to think of the settlement possibility. AEG did say earlier that they have no intention to settle and knowing Jackson's, they are looking for, not just million's but hundreds of millions as there are many Jackson to be fed, clothed, buy cars, houses etc.I wonder would AEG have to money for all the Jackson's or would it be cheaper for them to go to court and fight. I think they pay less if they go to court than settle with Jackson's.

I was thinking that didn't Katherine's lawyers say that the emails leaked are not even the most damaging emails that they have? If that is the case, why they fought so hard to have these emails be allowed as evidence, if they have more damaging emails?
My opinion is that these leaked emails are pretty much what they have, and they tried by leaking them to push AEG for settlement. All the actions from Jackson side, recent granny napping and Randy letter screams desperation. I will keep my faith that Jackson's get what they deserve = $0

It's premature to say how the judge will act. First wait to see the arguments. Also let me remind you that this judge has already thrown out two claims (civil conspiracy and emotional distress) and ordered Jacksons to sit for their depositions twice. Anything is possible and it's all dependent on the strength of the arguments.

yes AEG doesn't look like they'll settle. I was just talking in general sense. In most instances people will either settle instantly to make the cases go away as soon as possible without much noise. Or they would try to get the case dismissed and if they fail they could think about settlement.

The thing is cases are always public and settlement is recommended if you want to avoid the public scrutiny and protection of reputation. I think this might come to the point of what evidence is out there. If it's just these emails as they are already leaked it would not be a motivation for any settlement. However if there is a lot more even more bad communications they might settle to keep that out of the public eye.

I'm not saying what will happen , I'm just saying that a settlement before trial start is a general possibility.

and lets not forget that the lawyer team Katherine got for this case is SPECIALISED for BIG settlements.
If I remember correctly, that firm managed to receive the biggest settlement in the history for their client at the time.
They know what they are doing and who is to say that leaking those emails wasn't part of the plan, because that was their plan, full stop. Make a big fuss about how badly AEG treated MJ, try to get public opinion behind Jackson's, but they made 1 mistake. Public is not behind Jackson, thanks to several siblings which includes artist currently known as Jacks:sun:

After the way aeg have been messed around by the jacksons with the depositions dragging on, the emails leaking and latoya babbling to anyone who will listen that randy phillips was running around carolwood on 25 june in cahoots with murray, i just can't imagine they will be well disposed towards settling with them. I do wonder if the sale of aeg will affect whether they go ahead with the case, maybe with the sale coming up the head honcho might want to clear the decks of legal cases irrespective of the merits, idk.

Fingers crossed for it to be thrown out, that is truly the only option that mj fans shd want. I'm glad the estate has publically acknowledged that fact.

If the judge refuses to throw the case out, it does not mean defeat by AEG at all. All it means is that it's up to the jury to decide whether there is a merit in the Jack$ons claims. nothing less. nothing more. AEG may be tempted to settle at that point ONLY if they believe the odds are stuck against them i.e that there is less chances for them to succeed at trial given the strength of all evidences and so settling could be a cheaper option. But we're not there yet. lets wait and see.

If AEG would settle with the Jackson's, some people might see that as an admission of guilt. I don't think AEG wants that to happen.

When AEG did the depositions on the Jackson sons, they asked financial and drug questions. I wonder if AEG will find a way to bring in the snatching of granny due to financial reasons. They may get an objection, but it will be in the jury's mind that Jacksons do anything for money. Better yet, I wonder if they asked Randy and Jermaine about it, since their depositions occurred after the snatching event? I notice that Randy is staying off X17 now and keeping quiet.

It's a little confusing than that. Mann has been deposed for 2 days and refusing to sit down for the 3rd day. Mann had said he got the stuff from 6 people but refused to name them citing privacy. AEG wants to learn who these 6 people are and stop the leak because they fear if they don't , it would mean more leaking of private documents about AEG.

However there's no hearing date available before the trial. That's why AEG filed an ex-parte motion asking the judge to put it on calendar quickly. However the judge denied the request. Saying that they can file a normal motion and if required they can ask for a delay of the trial. Judge also added that it doesn't mean that she'll grant any of these requests.

I am glad AEG is going after that Mann character. He placed himself in this case that had nothing to do with him. What a ninny, and now he gives a lie about 6 people giving it to him and citing privacy issues as a reason for not disclosing who. I want to see him crushed some more, because apparently the beating he got from the estate was not sufficient to keep him away.

Here is AEG’s 12 page legal response. Its their legal documents of the forensic work performed on the leaked emails and found evidence that the leaked emails came from Katherines attorney’s office.

Judge granted Katherine's lawyer's request and said that Tohme needs to sit down for his deposition by January 11.

Katherine is the one who filed the request that judge orders Tohme sit for a deposition. It was granted.

Well Katherine's lawyers are hoping what he will say is going to help their case against AEG.

Btw AEG has asked for 5 more pages in their summary judgement. they say they need more pages to answer and debunk Katherine's claims.

Taunya Zilkie deposition by AEG will continue on January 10, 2013. She agreed to answer questions she previously didn't answer including questions about her relationship with Randy Jackson as well as business dealings between Michael and Randy.
