they could show Madison Square Garden including 9/11, which cancelled the Invincible Tour and the Invincible Era

But what happened the next morning was 9/11… and everything changed. Michael would have probably gone to Europe first, but Europe seemed like the most dangerous place to be since we didn’t know who was responsible yet. So, we still kept hoping, but if you look back to early 2002, everybody artist canceled their world tours. Just like with COVID. There was still some touring going on in America but Michael liked touring the world. I don’t know if he was more popular in Europe but he thought, “Well, if I had a choice of touring in America or Europe, I would always pick Europe.” In America, to us, every city is the same. That 2001 period is pretty irrelevant in terms of Michael's history looking at thr bigger picture.

9/11 happening the morning after the 2nd MSG show is obviously a wtf moment but there are far more important moments that should be covered before this.

Fans wanting them to show the falling bridge during earth song is another where I highly doubt they will cover.

I think it will defo show that the use of pain medication and that it started from the pepsi incident and it will slowly spiral out of control as the movie goes on.

In the short trailer there was talk about him popping pills whilst sat at a piano.

From what we’ve heard and seen so far I don‘t think we should have any doubts regarding the looks, outfits, dancing and set designs. Those things will be spot on. My “concern” is regarding the acting and writing. I hope it will be compelling enough so we can say it is more than just a no substance good looking big budget film. I mean it should make people think, it should be more than pretty pictures and cinematography imo.

It can't be a simple cradle to the grave Wikipedia by numbers movie. A lot of topics being covered but no emotional connection.

There will be an actual story , not just a biography. I think they will mainly focus on his relationship with his father, growing up and how he ended up the way he did.

It's important they don't cram too much in.

I share your concerns, as I personally deem the writing/script & direction the most important parts for a movie to be good.

But maybe we can be somewhat relieved if we look at the personell involved.
Writer: John Logan (multiple acedemy/oscar nominations, also his body of work)
Producer: Graham King (body of work, multiple Oscar nominations & a win for BEST PICTURE)
Directory: Antoine Fuqua (great body of work & directed Denzel Washington in his Oscar win)

Additionaly:
The best movie pundit on YouTube (John Campea / The John Campea Show) saw the presentation at Cinemacon.
He doesn’t praise movies / trailers lightly.
And he also cautions judging a movie by only a trailer.
But he was head over heels by what he saw at the presentation. He even mentioned (paraphrasing) „looks like Oscar worthy type film“ by what was shown to them.
The film will be very long also, so they‘re taking their time. 2 1/2 to 3 hours I imagine.

It's super good to me to see Larenz repping for Berry. Tate is one of the best actors in the entire world and has been in some of the most phenomenal movies ever made....
Absolutely cream of the crop this guy, and then some. So he will not disappoint. We're about to make history guys..

Phrases used by John Campea regarding the movie: „Fantastic“ - „Larger than live“ - „epic“ - „incredible“ …
It spans a lot of time & looks like an Oscar movie..

Regarding Jafaar: Looks like Michael, speaks like Michael, moves like Michael.

Mind you: John Campea is not an MJ hardcore fan as we are.
What brings me to my next point:
We all, as hardcores, should do all of ourselves, the movie itself & the people working on it a huge favor. Let the „hardcoring“ go for this one project.
It’s not important, that the hair is 100%, that each outfit is 100% and all that.
Much more important is, that it’s a good story & that the facts get out & the general public says afterwards „yep, this is believable, this is what happened“ and the truth about Michael comes out & people can fall in love with the guy once again without second guessing themselves over those horrendous FAKE allegations.
That’s a pretty big task in itself.
If it’s a mesmerizing, gripping & immersive story on top of that, I could (and we all should) care less, if some events or characters are melted together or a shirt has a different color or collar…

Kristen Stewart has got the attitude and the cool edge, for sure. But I'd go for Riley Keough. Although I don't know if she's already on a project atm. Plus I don't know if she'd want to do it - maybe playing your own mother would be too weird. But she would probably be my pick.

Did you mean the length of the shoot? 3 months is fairly standard. There will have been loads of scenes shot indoors that we haven't seen. It should be fine.

Post production usually goes on a lot longer.
 
I'm just a bit saddened that we haven't had any leaks of Bad era/TII era Jaafar honestly. God knows how long we're gonna have to wait until it's officially revealed for us to find out how he's gonna look. Hopefully it won't be too long until Lionsgate starts revealing more stills from the movie.

There's not really a massive need for location shooting, it's not a Bond film
