"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

David has all the notes. Only thing that was left to do was for MJ to sign on a budget for the orchestra, then those pieces would've been created. Otherwise though they can still be done exactly the way MJ wanted them to be made. Using those songs as the film score is an excellent idea (and would save the estate some money, who would be a better composer for the movie than MJ himself lol). I truly hope they don't pass on that opportunity.
Wouldn't it be worth knowing what the quality of those compositions is before deciding?
Plus, the risk of going full force on unknown music... that doesn't include Michael's voice.

On the other hand, I think Seeing voices would definitely be worth including!!

over 30 songs.... I wonder which ones

I Want You Back
ABC
The Love You Save
I'll Be There
Ben
Dancing Machine
Blame It On the Boogie
Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)
Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough
Rock With You
Off the Wall
She’s Out of My Life
Can You Feel It
The Girl Is Mine
Billie Jean
Beat It
Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’
Human Nature
P.Y.T
Thriller
Say Say Say
We Are the World

The Way You Make Me Feel
Man In The Mirror
Dirty Diana
Another Part of Me
Smooth Criminal
Black or White
Heal The World

Will You Be There
You Are Not Alone
Earth Song
You Rock My World
And still some big ones are missing!!

I'm just a bit saddened that we haven't had any leaks of Bad era/TII era Jaafar honestly. God knows how long we're gonna have to wait until it's officially revealed for us to find out how he's gonna look. Hopefully it won't be too long until Lionsgate starts revealing more stills from the movie.
look, here's Michael himself on the Bad era

And This Is It era. Why the hell would you want someone else recreating this man's magic? It's absurd. And y'all acting like this is MJ coming back to life is TOP CRINGE.

Fan of Hulk Hogan, how does it feel for this topic and thread to live rent free in your head? When you wake, it’s the first thing you think about. Through your day it constantly occupies your mind. When you sleep at night you dream about it. How does it feel to have zero input on a subject that constantly gnaws away at you?? It must be tough not having any self control. It must be difficult to be constantly lurking in here reading our every word and thoughts. Whats it like being absolutely powerless and having nothing original to say?

There is no way this guy has comeback again just to yap about how he doesn’t like the Michael movie in a Michael movie thread

Just Remember set to unreleased 4k footage:
Lead Vocals - Michael Jackson, Paris Jackson
Background Vocals - The Jacksons (like “This Is It”)
Mixed by Serban Ghenea & John Haynes
Writers: Michael Jackson, Buz Kohan
  • Just Remember (feat. Paris Jackson) plays as pre-credit song
  • Using most complete version of “Just Remember” by Brad Buxer and Michael Prince (apparently MP has been polishing the tracks since MJ died), completed by using MJ’s notes, voice mails and whatever they have on the track
  • MJ sings chorus & ending (like Don’t Matter To Me)
  • Use MJ’s demo vocal melody for Paris’ verses
  • Use lyrics MJ wrote if they exist, if they are not complete, Buz Kohan finishes the lyrics
  • Demo runtime: approximately 1:30
  • Paris sings on the mumbling parts creating a duet between the two
  • At very end put MJ’s “I Iove you” from Speechless
Traditional credit song: Dream Away polished by Steve Porcaro.

Thoughts?

Shame on you..

Imagine being so selfish to the point where you refuse to accept how potentially wonderful this biopic might be for Michael's image and increased popularity.

Look at how popular Queen became again after the release of Bohemian Rhapsody - as a fan MJ, surely you want the best for him?

I guess you've never heard of tribute bands & singers. People pay money to see them in concert. There's one called The Musical Box who does Peter Gabriel era Genesis songs. Phil Collins & Steve Hackett have performed with them. There's even hybrid acts like Beatallica (Beatles + Metallica) & Dread Zeppelin, which is a band who does Led Zeppelin songs in a reggae style with an Elvis Presley impersonator as the lead singer.

Whats this??? a new somg called ''just remember''?

It's one of the last Michael's recordings. "Just Remember" AKA Remember What I Told You. It's a small 90 seconds Demo which is similar to "Speechless" in terms of structure. Recorded in 2008.
Yes it’s a demo which is People Of the World completion level. I thought given its description, making it a duet with Paris would be a great way to end the movie.

The abuse by Joseph, do you expect it to be pretty raw and show Michael on the receiving end of several beatings with belts , cords etc?

I know the Jackson family downplay the abuse but I hope they show it as brutal as possible, including verbal abuse.

Michael described very graphically how the abuse was, so they really would have no excuse not to portray it exactly the way Michael described it. If they downplay Joseph's abuse right at the beginning, nobody will take the rest of the biopic seriously when they get to the allegations, they'll just assume they are downplayed too, so accuracy in every aspect is very important.

90 seconds is better than nothing so will it be on the ''michael'' album or on youtube?

The problem with showing the abuse is the certificate rating, they may sensor it, to keep the certification low.

With the Jackson family involved I can't see them going too hard on Joseph's abuse.

Tragically the abuse is a vital part of Michael's story and needs to be included somehow

The trauma Michael suffered as a child cannot be sugar coated but yes, I fear it will be.

The narrative that he never had a childhood needs backed up, visually. We all know it was not just from constant performing, it was mental and physical trauma too.

Imagine being so incredibly talented and your daddy's meal ticket, yet constantly living in fear of him, beat up, named called, and not even allowed to call him daddy. That's just sick and especially to someone as sensitive as Michael.

Regarding Joseph, my wish is that complexity is not shied away from. His grandfather was born a slave and this understanding of family history could be depicted in some way. How american history made sure trauma was passed down through generations, each dealing with it in their own way, after their understanding.

There are certainly universal lessons from their relationship, how afraid Michael was of his own father for many years. How physical violence and loss of love through emotional distance internalizes destructive patterns.

Somehow through all this, Michael’s quest for and belief in LOVE made him one of the most celebrated human beings ever.
His triumphs are triumphs of black history and world history interwoven.

His deeply held family views eventually made him accept and understand his father, claiming he “mellowed out” as he had grandkids. Leading up to the trial Michael talked about him with ever growing respect.

This doesn’t mean anything should be sugar coated. The relationship took a lot of work, especially by Michael.
When he didn’t sing about Healing The World he worked on it in a myriad other ways.

Prince being involved likely means this will be handled respectfully.
