"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Yessss!!! If the DWT catapult scene is not included... there goes one goosebumbs scene waisted.

Seriously though... would that not be the pivotal performance scene... with him just standing there for... what was it... 2 minutes? I would give that scene alone 2 real time minutes on the movie too!! What the heck, I would make it three minutes!!

This is an interesting idea! I could imagine them using this scene from the Super Bowl and then narrating what was going on while Michael stood there for minutes:

- The broadcasting executives getting nervous "TF is he doing?? We paid this man to perform!"

- Big companies who had ads during the Bowl calling the broadcasters and cussing them out because MJ was getting paid to do nothing (while
their own ad time costs a gazillion money) lol

- MJ Fans freaking out at home in front of the tv

- MJ haters freaking out at home in front of the tv

- The athletes leaving their locker rooms to watch MJ perform (I heard that happened)

etc. etc.

:)

I am sure they will not include 2mins of a scene that can be seen (in real) on an official release like Live in Bucharest.
But the film is most likely aimed primarily at the general audience. And many of them won't know about this moment not to mention people who were not born yet or were too young to pay attention. That said, I can imagine people thinking that they just made that bit up just for the film and then going online and discovering that it really did happen. That's kinda cool, imo! :ROFLMAO:

The way @bluemoon7 laid out the scene makes a lot of sense, imo. That's a really good dramatic scene right there.

There's a more detailed version of this 👇 somewhere but this'll do ...

“Michael said to me, ‘Don’t cue my musicians until my hands go up and remove my glasses,’” Don Mischer — who produced and directed the halftime show — told The Post. “So he pops up, the crowd’s going crazy, about 30 seconds goes by, and he doesn’t move. Now I’m in the [production] truck screaming, ‘Come on, Michael! Let us go, man, and give us the cue!’ Finally, his hands came up, he touched his glasses, and we were off and running.”

"... but at that point, when we finished the half-time show, that was the highest rated moment in the history of television, that one little stretch ..."
Don Mischer

The toaster is a great, iconic way to start the movie, and I am expecting it to be in the movie.

To me however, the 'Bad Tour' opening felt more exciting: would also be cool to follow Michael backstage, from the corridors of the stadium up until under stage, opening the hatch, the fainting fans, the LED moonwalk animation, bright lights, smoke... silence...and then is cue for 'WBSS'

That is a bad argument... Should they then not include any of the Thriller recreation either as that can be seen on an official release as well? Which clearly won´t be the case as they have been seen filming in a Thriller scene.

I prefer the Bucharest DWT kick-in-the-air scene though... it is by far superiour to the Superbowl scene.

I think every scene should have Branca in it, and when Branca isn't on screen, one of the characters should say, Where's Branca?

The film should open with Joe Jackson meeting Branca as a child. Extend to Michael being born, taking Michael out of the hospital and introducing him to Branca and establishing that as the beginning of their immaculate partnership.

Avoid all mentions of albums after Thriller also.

Every time you do one of these crazy posts I am SO up for it.

I love this! :ROFLMAO:

I find the toaster scene greater as it seems to be more dramatic... especially if they edit it prolongued.

In the end I agree, I would probably go for the toaster and 'standing still' too, since it is visually more interesting.
But then again, during the 'Bad Tour' he looked cooler, the outfit was cooler, there was genuine 'Michael Mania' in the stadiums (not just from fans) and the song WBSS itself just hits better and is way more recognizable than 'Jam' imho

Possibly... but the dance routine in Jam is cooler and the viscious look on his face when he tries to beat the air unconscious is plain awesome. Also, do not forget the sound effect when he kicks off.

Doesn't matter Uncle Ben; the Light Man intro from This Is It would've been cooler than them both

That's how'd I start the movie. A completed finalized conception of that.

Hmm I would skip to the next scene a few seconds after the music starts so any dance routine wouldn't count :)
The panther sound effects are very cool yes but the sounds of the steps, drums and closing of the hatch in the Bad tour opening are awesome too. Plus it always bothered me that the glass breaking is the exact same sample as on the record, just like his lyrics :)

Would it? It seemed even lamer than that rocket of the History Tour

I would love The Toaster to open the movie but if I'm honest I don't think anyone could pull off that fencing outfit other than Mike and I don't think they could replicate the hysteria it caused.

I wouldn't be shocked if the film opens on the actor playing young Michael, shows a bit of Motown years, the abuse from his father, then they use a creative way to have Michael wake up and it's Jaafar as adult Michael

Honestly....I feel like this will be the opening of the movie
Maybe in the movie it would be the first concert right after the 1993 allegations. When outside there is still festival, music and screaming crowds but inside Michael's head (using voice-over) it's an absolute nightmare.

One thing I hope for with this documentary is they show resilient Michael was during his life, not only with his physical health but his mental health.

Mike was strong and kept moving forwards no matter what, he was defiant in the face of adversity

"The third act of the Michael Jackson biopic has been scrapped & will have to be reshot due to a legal issue. The third act focused on 1993 investigation into Jordan Chandler’s claim that Michael Jackson sexually abused him at 13 years old. Jackson’s estate forgot they signed a deal with the Chandler family years ago to never include them in any sort of movie, rendering the third act pretty much unusable." So Chandlers brother can release a book based on info From Ray Chandler but the Jackson Estate cant be involved in a move about it 33 years later?

The source is not exactly extremely legit btw, right?

Matt Beloni is the scum bag who stopped Chris Brown & Ciara's Thriller tribute, and pretended he saw the script with the film starting during the FBI raid. Now, it's the third act?

Also, I'm pretty surprised if they were going that directly as to name the people involved in the investigation. To me, that seems like obvious legal issue.

"The film's third act, in particular, hinges specifically on the impact of the Chandler circus. In the script I read—which I’M TOLD was close to final, but OBVIOUSLY these things are OFTEN REVISED"

What a shmuck!
