Not to take away from what happened, it is a terrible tragedy. But just to clarify, there was no mass shooting. He drove a truck killing 14 innocent party goers.

Avant-garde? That’s personally the last word I’d use to describe Michael Jackson.

Maybe Morphine is a bit out there, just for the sake of subject matter, but he never went full-on experimental did he

OK, being serious for one second, I agree with the other person that none of this is avant garde but I get where you're coming from, Mr JT. Everyone is allowed to go mad, lol. Yesterday online people had posted the JW door-to-door photos again even though they've been seen a million times already. Bc there's nothing happening and so long to wait for the film.

People who are into Off The Wall or Mike's music in general probably don't care much about avant-garde music. Those types of artists are generally uncommercial & non-mainstream by nature. Mike worked with Paul McCartney, not Sun Ra or Diamanda Galás.
 
My point is just that it's not gonna be just disco and dance music the whole time. They can expect multiple textures in the discography of Michael, the artist and also the film if it chooses to portray that. Because I think people tend to forget that.

A song like Human Nature though, as popular as it is, can't be forgotten for just how, ethereal it is. Add stuff like Stranger in Moscow, For All Time, Dream Away, you got a good little playlist of really potent, emotive pop music with a lot of depth. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

It's a biopic, not a Marvel/DC superhero movie where people constantly make videos about it on Youtube or write about it on blogs. 😆 There's little if any news about those 4 individual Beatles movies.

Just the other day I was reading an article about who the writer thinks should be cast in the film. Even though the casting has already been done - albeit not 100% confirmed.
 
I'm really intrigued how the biopic will end. Will it end with Michael's passing and then a live performance of Man In The Mirror?
Similar to what they did on This Is It and Bad 25

So am I... His passing would add to the drama. I thought the ending on "Elvis" where they mixed real Elvis and his actor while singing Unchained melody worked really well.

If they go all the way to TII... is Jafaar supposed to portray him all the way then? Won't that require a little to much make-up?

As a story, it wouldn't make sense to just end it with a random performance he did 20 years ago. It would be like, "Okay, the movie is over, now we show you a live performance, just because that's what other biopics did."

And unlike other performers, Michael's life just can't be summarized with just one great performance that embodies all others. I feel in his case a montage showcasing his whole life, both as an artist and as a person, is the only way to go, because there is so much to show. When that movie ends, I want to see some of this:

Yessss!!! If the DWT catapult scene is not included... there goes one goosebumbs scene waisted.

Seriously though... would that not be the pivotal performance scene... with him just standing there for... what was it... 2 minutes? I would give that scene alone 2 real time minutes on the movie too!! What the heck, I would make it three minutes!!

It's crazy to think about it! He just stood like that doing nothing and people were screaming and fainting LOL No one will ever achieve that. This is a great idea! It would be great for younger people to see what kind of impact he had!

Just do no close ups and maintain the sunglasses indoors MJ already did. And show the behind the scenes tensions. TII already exists, we don't need it recreated, just show from a different angle.

I am sure they will not include 2mins of a scene that can be seen (in real) on an official release like Live in Bucharest.
