I don't care enough to be positive or negative about the movie. It is what it is. It's not my job to be enthusiastic. I have no control over his good it is, and take no benefit from its success. It's like some of you are desperate to be negative about this movie.
Fandom obsession is the answer. Their self worth is explicitly connected with the products the estate release and how MJ is perceived.I don't care enough to be positive or negative about the movie. All I can do is wait for the movie to come out, and then decide whether to watch it or not, and then form an opinion about whether it's good or bad.
I'm not gonna talk it up or talk it down, or start jumping around just because there's a couple of seconds of a "teaser trailer" it whatever it is people are getting excited about.
My happiness does not depend on the film breaking box office records or whatever. I couldn't give a shit how much money Sony's lawyers stand to make. My sense of self-worth is not linked to whether critics or other fans enjoy the film. It's literally irrelevant.
I'm honestly baffled why some people on here take it as a personal insult just because people have doubts about the quality and/or truthfulness of this movie.
The mania of the 1980s wasn’t just about a man. It was about the way that man, the King of Pop, bent time, culture, and commerce to his will. It was about the arrival of a new era, one where Black brilliance reigned supreme.

You are entitled to your opinion, sorry so many people are attacking you for this. The lack of kindness and basic respect here is astounding.

He was a human, flaws and all. Not a god or perfection…
The way things have rapidly turned into this monster makes me very sad.
And then this.
Ok? I never said anything about thatHe was Thee King Of Pop!![]()
You did but you re-edited your message. But that’s neither here nor there. My point is, if Elvis was The King Of Rock & Roll and The Beatles were The Fab Four, and if Beyoncé is Queen Bey……then Micheal was the gawd damn undisputed King Of Pop.Ok? I never said anything about that![]()
I think you are confusing me with someone elseYou did but you re-edited your message. But that’s neither here nor there. My point is, if Elvis was The King Of Rock & Roll and The Beatles were The Fab Four, and if Beyoncé is Queen Bey……then Micheal was the gawd damn undisputed King Of Pop.
Now, let’s get back on topic before we get told off.
Nope, you said that Michael wasn’t a king, that all people are equal. I read it just before you edited it and it’s fine anyway.I think you are confusing me with someone else
I never said he wasn’t a king? I said it’s bad to think Michael was a GOD*. The original message was talking about the moniker.Nope, you said that Michael wasn’t a king, that all people are equal. I read it just before you edited it and it’s fine anyway.
My point is that no, he is in fact The King Of Pop.
I don’t think it’s about celebrity worship and I don’t think anyone took the tag: King of Pop as a literal reference to Michael proclaiming himself to being an actual king. It was very clearly a play on words like any other artist of that stature.I never said he wasn’t a king? I said it’s bad to say you are a king. Which the original message was talking about.
I haven’t edited that message either.
I just don’t believe in celebrity worship. I recognise Michael not as a GOD but as a human who suffered but managed to create beautiful art and send a great message.
His tag line to sell his art ‘KING OF POP’ is one thing but I don’t think it matters in the overarching sentiment his work attempts to convey.
Hopefully we see similar events in different cities all over the world , London , LA , Tokyo etc
Awesome. It begins!
Fair enough but just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean it’s okay to insult them was my grievance. Apologies if I came across as harsh.I don’t think it’s about celebrity worship and I don’t think anyone took the tag: King of Pop as a literal reference to Michael proclaiming himself to being an actual king. Anyways, what I took umbrage with was R1chard’s nonsensical claims that Michael alienated half his fanbase. That is simply not true. There was no big announcement, there was no news broadcast to proclaim that ‘from now on Michael Jackson will be addressed as The King Of Pop. It was simply an adornment in the same fashion as all the other greats who adopted similar monikers.
To call it narcissistic, vain and vulgar, to say it was one of the biggest mistakes of his career is a kick in the teeth to Michael and the fans. Something I’d expect from a media critic.
Nah you’re fine and I appreciate this message. I understand where you’re coming from, and I didn’t really intend to insult anyone, but I did feel RIchards post was rather insulting towards MJ. But it is what it is. It’s all good pal.Fair enough but just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean it’s okay to insult them was my grievance. Apologies if I came across as harsh.![]()
