Michael Jackson's Hair Set To Be Auctioned

I will admit this, if Michael stayed at my hotel and I found his hair.. You better believe I'm keeping and honoring it lol!! I'd never sell it though!!!!!!!!

I don't think this whole things is AS big of a deal as some are making it to be. Michael has sold personal belongings of his before.. There is a memoralbelia store that I go into every so often when im in L.A. and Michael has walked right in there and handed them a half eaten orenge and sold it to them..

So if someone sold his hair, ya I think it's not in my taste.. I'd keep it.. BUT!! I don't think it's such a horrible thing where we have to talk crap about it
 
KOPV, hair is not a problem per se. Many parents keep a lock of hair from baby's first cut etc. and there is nothing wrong with that. For example, I have/keep one whisker (which broke off) of my cat who died 2008. :sad:

The problem is with the way how MJ's hair was retrieved (from a shower drain) and the reason why - $$$!
If Michael was in my hotel I would have politely asked him to take a picture with me + autograph or something like that and I would treasure that forever BUT certainly I would not seek MJ's hair in his bathroom or bedroom with...

I'd save his hair from a shower drain.. call me sick if you'd like.. The big difference is I would not do it for profit!!


This is not the first MJ related thing that has been sold that has been from that hotel.. There was a sketch also that MJ did..



To mention something real quick, there is a CHANCE that hair really is not from the shower drain.. It could be a sale tactic.. MAYBE.. There they have a hair styling salon.. What if he had his hair styled there and they kept hair from there.. But the running headline of it being from the shower "sells" better.. Or maybe it was from a drain in the salon and not really his room. The salon has done work with MJ before including 2001 30th anniversary
 
Michael was wearing a WIG after the 80's Pepsi accident. He almost didn't have his own hair on the head since then.
The other question is: from what part of Michael's body this hair is???
 
Although I see a buyer has made a 1k usd bid on this auction Lot, they could be saving themselves some money and buy exactly the same thing on ebay for 199usd.....same picture ! Good job it comes with a certificate of 'autensity' sic.(excuse the thinly veiled sarcasm).

It doesn't matter what the item is, someone, somewhere will fake it....and some sellers don't even go to the trouble of faking it before they offer it for sale......smdh

Michael did not always wear wigs after Pepsi accident.. Wigs for the most part came later.. Michael used more hair pieces and some areas weaved in than wigs over all.. Alot of his real hair showed often, not soo much in the late 90's through 00's but we've definitally seen his real hair..

There is a reason we stopped seeing much "baby hair" in the later part of the 90's

Seems like a fairly cheap way of advertising their online 'product' ie get the press to publicise it. You'd pay a lot more than that for ordinary newspaper advertising....guess they'll try and get on TV with it too. But who would know if they really have used the hair for this pupose.... I guess you'll never be able to see it?

I just hope that it is not really MJ's hair. (Seems disrespectful to me).

In today's macabre Michael Jackson news: A gambling website has purchased some of the singer's hair and plans to convert it into a roulette ball.

Championed in a press release under the heading "The King of Pop to Rock & Roll Again," the casino website purchased the small portion of hair from an online memorabilia merchant, Gotta Have Rock & Roll, for $10,871. (The sellers, in turn, nicked it from the Carlyle Hotel in New York after Jackson stayed there.)
