Many believers were asking why would SONY do such a thing. More and more I believe that SONY has nothing from Michael or very, very, very few songs.
Since the turmoil that Michael had with SONY, I believe that he became extremely cautious and that he stored his songs far from SONY's claws. He gave the the unreleased tracks such as we've all heard on the Ultimate Collection and that was more or less about it.
What pushes me to believe that SONY has only few songs left is their desperate rush (oops) to buy those Cascio songs.
I don't believe Michael recorded almost nothing at all at his private studio and 12 whole songs at Cascio's. It's just not credible. There are also many outtakes. I believe that some outtakes must be more than awesome as he collaborated with some extremely talented musicians as A.R. Rahman. When you listen to A.R. Rahman's songs and then when you listen to the Cascio songs, there is no way on this Earth that Michael would plunge so deep into mediocrity after so many years of experience. Michael was so experienced that he could not deliver anything else but smashing hits, even if they were not radio friendly. I am not talking about radio friendly music here.
What SONY did in the past years prior to Michael's death was the worst thing to do -- releasing best ofs! I mean come on. Let's make, for example, a best of from BAD and leave only the non-hits out:
-BAD (a hit!)
-THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL (a hit!)
-LIBERIAN GIRL (a hit!)
-ANOTHER PART OF ME (a hit!)
-MAN IN THE MIRROR (a hit!)
-I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU (a hit!)
-DIRTY DIANA (a hit!)
-SMOOTH CRIMINAL (a hit!)
-LEAVE ME ALONE (a hit!)
oh yes, SPEED DEMON appears on MOONWALKER!
and I almost forgot JUST GOOD FRIENDS is a duet with a legend STEVIE WONDER!
Now, damn SONY, but MJ's albums were ALREADY greatest HITS!
Let's see some outtakes:
STREETWALKER - I don't know you guys but I would have jubilated to have that song back in the 80s
FLY AWAY - I even don't know why was that song removed. I'd instantly put it in place of I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU
CHEATER - I am not sure if this one is a BAD outtake, but again, it became a hit even if it had been kept in the vault for years.
Now, from 1987 (BAD album) till 2007, twenty years after Michael kept on with singing and recording, we have a shaky unrecognizable voice and crazy vibrato on those Cascio songs with clearly isnpired from previous tracks melodies and mediocre lyrics???? I just can't buy this.
Why don't we listen to the people whom Michael admired and therefore collaborated with, such as A.R.Rahman, listen to this talented composer and tell me if he is in the same ligue as the Cascio singer (I guarentee you, you'll enjoy these tunes more than the Cascio songs, so did Michael):
