Isn't that pretty huge? Based on downloads only!! How high actually singles normally go with downloads only?!

It's not all that good. Most singles go a lot higher based on downloads only. The physical single is out now, let's see if it makes the top 40 on sunday.

But I think we have to compare artists around his Thriller era because I'm pretty sure many of his older fans don't download anything. Even I download very little and I'm 29 years old..

I think its very good news! I can't wait to see where it will be on the chart this Sunday.

Well Im in the older age group and find it easier to download. Havent bought a single CD in years. I cant see TGIM making a huge impact as it would really need to be backed by a video and more promotion. I've heard it a couple of times on the radio but to be totally honest about things, the whole Thriller 25 thing has, imo, the purpose of reintroducing Michael back to the music scene gradually before a major new release. Its a clever way of Michael putting the feelers out there and letting people familiarise themselves with his talent. I dont think its realistic to expect a number one spot and Michael probably doesnt either.

why is this news?

It has been in the official UK charts since three weeks.

week 1: #78
week 2: #44 (+34)
week 3: #48 (-4)

Well, news is that it hasn't released as a physical single until now, a few days ago.. I bet it will go up a lot on charts this week.

i thought all the Visionary singles made UK top 30? So therefore a NEW song (technically) should chart better, especially with a current star featuring, PLUS the digita downloads (which visionary didnt include) PLUS its cheaper than the visionary singles

yeah, it will definitely climb up due to phyiscal release now

I guess fans will always prefer a CD to a download

Well, it will if people know its out there to buy, but be honest do you really think its widely known?? I dont.

songs quite often make the top 10 based purely on downloads
