^ The same Roger Friedman also wrote in 2007 that Michael would definitely lose the catalog in 2008. Never happened. Just saying.
 
^ I think he was referring to the loan and his share in Sony/ATV as the collateral, well, I think, if MJ hadnt done "something" (eventually he signed the gigs for AEG), he would have lost his catalog, thats for sure..., the debt was monstrous.
Well, MJ died, everything has changed.

But by law..., well... MJ’s big Beatles part will be over by 2026..., if...
 
Unless you are a legal expert you cannot be sure. Legally it's more complicated than that. For example, like Bonnie Blue pointed out in another thread McCartney and Lennon are British citizens, not Americans, so how do US laws apply to them? Maybe it will be so as the article says but it wouldn't be the first or last time when Friedman was wrong and legally it seems it's actually more complicated than that.

And MJ died in 2009 not in 2008, so Friedman's prediction was wrong regardless of This Is It.
