Hi everyone.
I agree, I think if this wasn't in favor of the estate Mann & co would be shouting about their victory all over the place.

I have one question though,
Why is the website still up and running? It disappeared a couple of weeks ago with the message the domain name had expired, but now it's back.
Is it possible the Judge has given them time to wind it down?

website wasn't a part of the actual lawsuit. so unless it's included in the settlement, it might stay with melissa.

@Ivy, thanks. It looks like it is staying with Melissa as it appears to have just been renewed. I am really surprised that she could still use the same name, if you look at the website - nothings changed.

Very frustrating not knowing the details of the settlement.

HTWF 2008 filed is merged out agent Mellisa Johnson
Original 1991 HTWF is Active agent is National Corp research LTD

^Yeah, did the lawsuit cover the original HTW logo? If it did, then maybe the Estate didn't succeed on this one.

The Estate is taking back the Heal the World Foundation and all of the Michael Jackson trademarks it allegedly owned. The Michael Jackson Estate owns the Heal the World name, and neither Melissa Johnson nor her companies will ever be able to use Michael Jackson's name or the Heal the World name.

This is from the settlement in April. If this is still valid then Johnson can not use the HTW-name. So it should have sure consequences on the website.

Mellisa 2008 HTWF is merged out and some other entity is agent of the 1991 HTWF as of now

Looks like they may be acting as agent over the foundation for the Estate or for the Courts
untill all is resolved ?

This merge out etc was actually the additional complaint. It went like this

MJ had his own 1991 HTWF which was defunct.
Melissa had her own 2008 HTWF.
She created two board of directors, decided to revive MJ's 91 HTWF, filed papers with the LA government officials representing her as an representative.
In the end she merged her HTWF with MJ's old HTWF and on paper she started to look like the director of the original HTWF.
Nice little scam to get the ownership of MJ's HTWF.
Estate complained about it and asked it to be corrected.

Now original lawsuit didn't ask for the control of Melissa's HTWF charity. It asked for trademarks back. The transfer of charity from Melissa to the Estate was reported as a condition of the settlement.

a little update

On August 1st, 7 trademarks (categories of Heal the World, MJ and Michael) were transferred to the Estate

Trademark Trial and Appeal Board is overseeing objections between MJ Estate and HTWF. Again on August 1st, several abandonment notices were filed with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. One thing was interesting:

John Branca was listed as attorney in fact of HTWF. It means power of attorney.

In short Estate is continuing to take over HTWF's trademarks.

Let this serve as a warning to all current and would be thieves. My next hope is they recover all of Michael's art and belongings from BLS, and Howard Mann respectively.

Taaj has left the "public" scene, officially a few days ago, She tweeted that she had health issues due to stress. She turned her page over to an anonymous friend from what she said.

She´s been hushed away by many people, hopefully her tweet is the truth or she just saying she handed it over to a friend and still works on it herself. She´s never been close to anyone in that family. Not even Randy.

Good news. Thanks Ivy. It baffles me how much of Michael's trademarks these thieves had, intending to do fraudulent business with. I mean, what good did they do from using Michael's trademarks? Oh they gave a shelter something after most of the revenue went to buying domains and their pockets.

they didn't do any good

there was one line from Raymone Bain's testimony that she said Michael told her that other people (shmuley :p ) had spend too much money on expenses, administrative costs etc and too little went to charities and Michael wanted money to go to charities.

So even if you buy the HTWF's defense and believe that Michael left his charity to Melissa by giving only $5,000 to charity and spending $70,000 in trademark costs you can see that she wasn't following Michael's wishes - hence this wasn't Michael's charity.
