UPDATE:

You can block the Discovery channel via your parental controls feature on your cable or dish network. It's important that you let Discovery know that you have done so. With that said, simply using parental controls to block Discovery does NOT send a notification or signal to Discovery that this blocking has occurred, which is why you should let them know.

If you can remove it from your package, that will even be better. Place a call to your provider and request that the channel be removed. Discovery will know when this takes place. If they are not able to remove it, please ask them to note that you made this request to have it removed and tell them why.

All emails must bcc mjj@innocent.com to build a compiled package which will be sent via FedEx to Discovery in early January 2011.

Also, it has been determined that the Estate has no legal recourse against the program but perhaps the Los Angeles District Attorney might be able to speak to UK authorities and request them to intervene. It’s worth a shot.

UPDATE:

Scheduled to air on the UK screens and most of Europe, from January 13th through to the 16th, many people within the fan base -- and elsewhere -- are naturally appalled by this prospect. As I’m sure you’ve heard that the Estate has in the last 24 hours added its voice to the chorus of global outrage generated by Discovery's intended programming. As fans, we now need to reinforce what the Estate has done, by coherently, elegantly and powerfully making ourselves heard. Below is an updated message on what we are asking the fans to do.

1.) Express Your disgust in emails, calls and letters.

In the US, UK, and other countries around the world, people are writing, emailing and calling Discovery as often as they can ( preferably daily).

We need thousands of people, the like of which has never been seen, to call the numbers contained within the above link. We are advising fans to prepare a written statement before they call so that they can express themselves clearly to the operator they reach -- or the recorded message they are directed to. People can then leave that message at Discovery's Viewer Relations phone line in the US, the customer service department in the UK, and the phone-line of Lucy Radciffe --- the senior assistant to Nicolas Bonard -- head of Discovery UK. That link also contains the email addresses of key Discovery executives and the email address of Dr Hunter who will be 'performing' the mock autopsy.

2.) Block Discovery from their Cable viewing selection - and make sure Discovery know you have done so.

By calling their cable providers and requesting that the Discovery channel is removed or blocked from their TV line-up, and also blocking Dscovery by using the parental controls feature on their Cable or Dish set-up --- and making sure Discovery know they have done this -- fans can easily but effectively put their protest to Discovery -- into action.

The most important point is this: -- by making that call to your cable provider and asking that a log be made of their request for the removal of the Discovery Channel from their package, and also informing your provider that you have blocked Discovery from their channel selection -- you will send a loud and clear message to Discovery.

Simply blocking Discovery does not send a digital or automatic signal to them. It is when fans actually call their cable providers, then call Discovery, and send an email to Discovery's on-site complaints link -- that Discovery are immediately alerted that there is a serious problem -- and one that won't go away.

3.) Help build a 'Discovery Protest Package.'

All fans are asked to send a copy of the emails they send to Discovery executives ( you can simply cc all of them in one email) to mjj@innocent.com. You can do this simply by bcc'ing the mjj@innocent address so it is invisible to the Discovery executives you email.

We are asking for this so that those emails can be added to a physical package that will be sent via Federal Express to Discovery in early January 2011. The deadline for the FedEx package is December 31, 2011 -- but we NEED everyone to still CONTINUE emailing after this date.

UPDATE: Discovery Channel program Cancelled!!!

UPDATE:

For those who do not know yet, Discovery Channel has made the decision to cancel the airing of the autopsy program. The decision was made yesterday. So this is great news.

Now that Discovery has made the right decision, it's important that we acknowledge and praise their decision. We need to allow them some space to rethink. They did. So we encourage everyone to reach out to Discovery to let them know that we appreciate that they did that. I know it's frustrating that they even considered airing it in the first place, but they decided not to; whatever their reason was. By doing so we will show that we not the crazy fans to which the media refers, but we are respectful and rational human beings who spoke our voice against this type of programming.

In Bashir's case, we don't believe treachery and duplicity should be rewarded with a national speaking platform.

What may have been compelling about our entreaty is that we provided proof that Bashir is an especially bad actor on the stage of rapidly deteriorating journalism in America. HMI's letter packet contained comments from YouTube videos featuring Bashir, and from randomly selected blog articles about him, including his profile at ABC News. Thousands of comments were provided, virtually all of them negative. Bashir is pretty much universally despised.

By July 2010, Bashir was gone from ABC News, only to resurface a few months later at MSNBC where, it was reported, he is to occupy the 3:00 pm (Eastern) time slot.

The typical length of an employment contract at an on-air news source is four years. Bashir's tenure at ABC News was November 28, 2005--August 6, 2010. We don't know if the evidence we provided contributed to his departure, but going from a prime time network news program to a mid-afternoon cable news spot is definitely a demotion.

In mid-December 2010, HMI again sent the letter packet to 29 carefully vetted executives at Comcast, NBC Universal and MSNBC. As of the end of January, at least one media gossip blog is wondering where he is.

Thomas Roberts was recently given a full time position at MSNBC. He currently appears in the 3:00 pm time slot.

If MSNBC wants to do the right thing, they'll leave Roberts in the 3:00 spot and kick Bashir to the curb. However, Keith Olbermann abruptly left MSNBC on Friday, January 21, thereby leaving a hole in MSNBC's line-up. You know that is a great question. I did ask that myself on Twitter today, but did not receive an answer. I would say you can report the videos more then once, but we also want to remain credible in our efforts. If YouTube sees that there are multiple reports from a given individual, then they can perceive it one of two ways. Either they can consider the reports not credible or they can see that the level of disgust is so significant that the person is reporting it multiple times becuase they want it and the channel gone. I will say that I have gone through each video a few times during the day and I intend to go back tomorrow. UPDATE: Two videos have thus been removed due to the number of complaints, so what we are doing is working. Do what you feel is in your heart. If YouTube is a credible organization, they will respond accordingly, which it seems they have. Thank you for your question.:better:

In response to your post, riviera, I tried multiple reports myself and it seems we are allowed to do so.
However, like Windy09 pointed out, we don't want to lose credibility. It's much better to have multiple users reporting the same video rather than a single user doing it over and over.
I have also noticed since yesterday that some of these accounts have placed a warning according to which viewers need to sign an agreement before they are allowed to view.
Is this YT policy or do they do it themselves?
That remains to be answered.
Meanwhile the best way to go about it is to spread the message. Once it goes viral, we have very good chances of reaching our goal.

It appears that we have more YT videos to address. The YT clean-up is an ongoing project that needs our attention and collective monitoring. Please follow the steps as already described previously in this thread by Windy09.

These MJ hate videos were uploaded 2 days ago, one was uploaded less than 24 hours ago. Please report. A few might be repeat videos newly uploaded.

These are the same people reloading those discusting videos daily.

YT seem better at taking down videos made by loving fans to spread Michael's magic. I had two of my videos flagged and taken down.
 
Riviera did you get any kind of report or notification for vids taken down?
I would love to see on what grounds this happened!

Why:
As we previously reported, ratings for Winfrey's new endeavor, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), are taking a nosedive. As we all know too well, Winfrey predictably exploits Michael Jackson when her ratings are flagging. The closing season of her ABC talk show is no exception.

Diana Ross is scheduled to appear on Winfrey's show, but Jared doesn't know if the show has been taped yet.

In speaking with him, he suggested that any messages to Diana Ross can go through him. Please take a moment to send a message to Diana Ross to ask her, if it can be avoided, not to succumb to Winfrey's quest for ratings by discussing Michael.

Diana Ross may think Michael's fans want her to discuss him.

Given full reign, Winfrey will be sure to ask, with her usual lack of compassion, any number of highly invasive and insensitive questions.

• Have you seen the children?
• Are they better off now that they're unveiled?
• Did you know that Michael appointed you successor guardian of his children?
• What do you make of that?
• When did you last see Michael?
• Did you know he was a drug addict?
• Were you alarmed by all his plastic surgery?
• Do you think he wanted to look like you?
• Do you think he was a child molester?
• Etc.

Try not to be too wordy, but stress that, if at all possible, please, Ms. Ross, continue to honor Michael's privacy.

Talking points:

• Winfrey since 1993 has consistently been disrespectful to Michael.
• Winfrey consistently asks invasive, exploitative and intensely private questions about Michael, his children and his family.
• Winfrey has exercised her power irresponsibly to shape public opinion.
• Celebrity gossip is the cash cow for tabloid empires. Winfrey has gone to the well too many times at Michael's expense.
• Winfrey's "voice of doubt and reserve" clearly influenced her audience in the Jackson matter and further emboldened the self-righteous pack of hounds hunting Mr. Jackson, alleged child molester.
• Winfrey's posthumous Jackson-related interviews with Lisa Marie Presley and Michael's parents and children were scheduled near or among other programs on child molestation. Such juxtaposition placed Michael Jackson's name, in the public mind and memory, exactly where Winfrey has decided it should remain.

We don't know if we can head Ms. Ross off at the pass, but we want to try.

I would love to see on what grounds this happened!

Yes, I get a short email from the Youtube team saying my video was flagged for copyrighted material owned by Sony. This is my second offense and a third one will get my channel shut down.

Even though I put this notice below in the video description, it doesn't seem to matter.

It looks like an eye for an eye approach. YT certainly needs to sort out its priorities and redefine its policies.

Here we have another story we need to address by someone who holds the same ethics (or lack thereof) as Martin Barshir and Diane Dimond. While this story starts out very positive, it quickly turns very ugly and negative relating to Michael. Please see details below:

This was a non-issue everyone. Michael was not mentioned at all. In fact it was a very nice show. Diana is a very beautiful soul and funny lady. No wonder Michael loved her.

It is worth rebutting -- and rebutting hard. There is a plethora of expert views--people who worked with Michael over the years-- that totally refute these outrageous claims.

His watertight evidence for this claim rests on the fact that Jackson suffered from acne as a child and that cyproterone could have been used as what sounds like the most drastic cure for acne short of actually chopping your head off. "The drug blocks puberty, the voice can't mature," offers Branchereau, adding: "Michael Jackson never stopped singing."

Some may feel that this story comes under the category of medical journalism technically known as Saying The Most Demented Things You Can Think Of About Someone Because They're Dead And Therefore No Longer Subject To Libel Laws. Lost in Showbiz urges those people to consider an equally demented theory – the sheer desperation of the pushy music business family facing the prospect of a future in which their once angelic-voiced cash cow honks like a despondent goose – and think again. Put it this way, if Lost In Showbiz was Justin Bieber – recently subject to a distinctly adolescent tremor in the voice – it would be regarding that forthcoming visit to the dermatologist with a very worried eye.
