MTV (USA): MJ all day this Saturday

they should, he put them on the MAP. glad they are paying nice tribute, they did a good job the whole 4 days after he died, i stayed glued to MTV2 watching all of his videos.

yeah... I didn't get to see much ... becuz their was sooooooo much media coverage...

but from what I saw...........Sway did an excellent job..........

they owe Michael...........and it would really be great if they did a huge tribute during the award show....

Thanks for the heads up. I set my DVR to record all the shows on MTV even though it doesn't look too promising. A 30-min documentary (saying only God knows what), a top 10 video countdown (MTV usually never plays a whole video), Michael Jackson Influences (there was no info on the show), and an episode of ABDC. They pretty much just repeat those 4 shows throughout the day with other stuff coming on in between.

you guys need to email these stations and ask them to show bad tour LA

I didn't want to create a new thread, but just in case you're in the US and you're home and you have TV One they are reshowing the 30th Anniversary special in about 15 minutes followed by that special they showed last Sunday night.

MTV Celebrates Its 28th Birthday by Remembering Michael Jackson

Tune In on Saturday, August 1st for Three Never-Before-Seen MJ Tribute Shows Featuring Commentary From Diddy, Teddy Riley, Akon and More

NEW YORK, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, August 1st, MTV will celebrate its 28th birthday by giving Michael Jackson fans the ultimate present -- three all-new tribute shows about the pop superstar. Viewers will see a mix of interviews, music videos and more about the artist throughout the day.

This historic event kicks off at noon ET/PT with the world premiere of "Michael Jackson's Human Nature." This half hour special will feature candid stories from the pop icon's friends and colleagues about Michael Jackson the human being, rather than the entertainer. Jackson touched many lives through his music and this show will tell the stories of the many people he impacted directly.

Every celebration needs some Michael Jackson hits, so MTV is giving viewers 90 minutes of MJ's most popular videos as decided by their number of streams on mtv.com. "Michael Jackson's Top 10 Video Countdown" (12:30PM ET/PT) will also feature facts and trivia about each video, as well as rare interview footage of Michael discussing his hit singles.

At 2PM, MTV will present the world premiere of "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," an hour-long special featuring a collection of the top videos from the many artists who have been influenced by the King of Pop. From Justin Timberlake to Usher, MTV viewers will be treated to the hits inspired by Michael Jackson. As an added birthday bonus to viewers, MTV will also feature streaming messages from artists remembering Michael Jackson, along with exclusive interviews about the impact Jackson had on their music and their lives.

Michael's mark was left on the world of dance as well as music, so MTV is topping off the celebration with an encore presentation of "America's Best Dance Crew - Michael Jackson's Thriller" at 3PM. In this special episode of ABDC, dance crews choreographed their own moves to tracks from Jackson's "Thriller" album to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

An entire bottle of moscato and the second half of this 30th anniv special make for a very good night. Dancing around the living room. Bittersweet man..

yes lawd@heartbreak..
however i am trying to get tix to see this MJ tribute band here in ATL. the band is called Who's Bad or something like that.. the damn show is sold out.. but if I can't see them 2mrrw nite i think a bottle of wine or Ciroc Vodka will do just fine and MJ all day. Girl!!! I just had chuuuuuuch up in here! I needed that for real tho, that made me feel better. I skipped all that other BS, Destiny's Child and Marc Anthony and Liza n dem. I mean good on them, they gave tribute and all that, but all I wanted to see was the J6 and MJ. I'm good for the night now!

I LOVE Can You Feel It, it's one of my fave Jacksons songs, mainly cause of the video. I remember watching it back in the day like woooooooowww! Never seen anything like that before. Light shooting outta Mj's head! I was like mesmerized!

They need some kinna tribute band here in NY. I know there is a place in Times Square that has a band that does Prince songs, I'm sure an MJ band isn't too far behind...

@Heartbreak, I remember them performing that song @the Victory Tour. Ohhh the memories.. Those Jackson boys know how to perform, they need to teach these young bucks how to have a stage presence..If they would've performed Show you the way to go or Blame It On The Boogie, I would be dead and buried right about now.. those two songs are the sh*t..

Love those too.. My other fav? Lovely One. I'm MAD I was born in the late 70s I missed out on the Victory Tour, the Bad Tour. **pouts**

i was born in 77.. Time Waits For No One is a bonafide classic.. Triumph Album kicks ass.
Oh how I wish the Jackson family releases all the tours on DVD. I swear I would watch them everyday.. I can't wait until october when Sony premieres the This Is It footage..

There also gonna be the MJ speical program on TVGuide network (TVGN) on sunday from 1pm.

The Michael jackson Documentary was a surprise, it was actually ggod. To have them present something featuring the 'man' as opposed to the 'entertainer' was great. Teddy Riley's thoughts were just beautiful.

I liked the Documentary too. FINALLY, something is aired that's without even the slightest negativity!

Akon's piece was hilarious! And Kenny Ortega's was my favourite. He made sure to show the wonderful humantarian Michael is.

Michael Jackson Human Nature was great..... I really appreciated seeing that... I saw a part of the other show with stars like Neyo and Timberlake talking about Michael...

they both said great things..........MTV owes him ... I hope they do a tribute at the VMA's as Wade hinted at..
