Murray Trial - Day 14 - October 20 - Discussion

thats my opinion. the bottle was in the bag upside down so the dip could drip out and it was pretty much empty when found. why put it in a bag if u can just hang it up? makes no sense unless that plastic handle had come off. if it came off how else do u hang up the bottle upside down? you cant u so u improvise

That is dangerous right? The doctor is showing the proper way and Murray is just improvising? It is scary to me.

not really if u look at the diagram posted further up it shows the bottle hanging from the IV pole. thats how u do it. the dangerous issue wasn ot using a pump

stipulation coming up tap handle on the bottle wasnt raised on the diprivan bottle. walgren raised it. (the plastic handle)??

Are they gonna come back or is this it for today? I thought it was to be a short break? I have toleave to go home :(

ABC7 Murray Trial Murray's upset cause major point of defense was that 100ml Propofol bottle strap/hook wasn't unfastened meaning it wasn't hung on IV stand

Okay. Thanks. That tubing is missing that he used for the propofol? I hope the jury saw his freak out there.

"When Walgren got the bottle, he unfastened the hook, which means he "tampered" with the evidence."

"Murray & his attorneys are livid. Walgren agreed to stipulate on the record that they "tampered" with the evidence"

asking about murrays statment where he said he infused 25mg slowly and turned off the saline infusion b4 doing so. walgren wants shaffer to show how u do that. sidebar after the judge asks if diprivan is gonna used

Because it was in the damn saline bag which was cut open.

so thats why it was in the bag. the handle was never used. did murray not even know the handle was there???

LOL maybe murray didn't even realize there was a handle & wasted his time with the whole makeshift thing... wouldn't be the first obvious thing he failed to notice :mello:

The look on his face was priceless.

LOL, yeah!
My mom asked me earlier about the propofol-in-saline-bag, "but why didn't he inject all the Propofol in the saline bag?" and I said "maybe he didn't know it can be done like that, since the only way it is given in the OR is directly from the bottle :-?? "

shaffer says you dont turn off the saline. u dont clamp it.as murray said he did. becasue when u start injecting the diprivan slowly over 3-5 minutes the drug doesnt go anywhere .it stays in the tube it only moves when u release the clamp. so you release the clamp the saline comes into the tube and pushes the diprivan into mj. so it wasnt a slow push at all.

He connects the Propofol tubing to the Y tubing of the saline one, just like I thought!

Defense has several objections, sidebar. It's too late anyway, the jurors have seen what Murray did.

IV set up is dangerous. its been run by gravity the speed of the drip depends on how high up the bags are. both saline bag and dip compete with each other.thats why u use a pump as its a dangerous method.

chernoff objecting again sidebar

Why is the defense objecting to this? This is how propofol is suppose to be given.

It's supposed to be used with a pump so there is more control over the rate of propofol infusion. Murray used it without the pump, so gravity comes into effect and the saline and propofol are competing with each other...Shafer said that was a dangerous set-up. Defence probably don't like that.

Also seems they're complaining that the saline line isn't the same as the one Murray used.

Walgreen touches on "CM might not been aware of a handle on Propofol bottle" and is witness aware about the saline bag which was cut? Yes, he is and he brought one with him LOL

bingo here we go. the person using the bottle didnt know the handle was there are u aware of the split saline bag? yes he is. and shaffer did a test to see if it can be used. hes putting the bottle into the saline bag and showing it works fine.u can put the bottle in the split IV bag and use the IV bag as a way to hold the bottle. and the only way to control the flow is via the clamp and thats why there was no dip in the long tubing from the bag with the saline in but there was dip in the short tubing

What is up with Murray's eyes? He looks like he took a sedative.
