i just wanted fo share i'm proud of her,
We were doing practise exams in English and one of the options was "Choose a famous person whom you admire, and explain why you admire them"
I chose to do this, and I wrote about Michael, and I did this in an hour: (can't believe I'm actually going to type this out)

Michael Joseph Jackson is one name that does not go unknown throughout the whole world. His life was a phenomenon and he was the biggest star on Earth; no matter what rumours say, he is the King of Pop and his music loves on forever. This is why I admire him....
First of all, I admire the fact that since the age of fiver he has been a superstar and one of the most popular artists of all time. From ABC by the Jackson 5, Blame it on the Boogie by The Jacksons - who were the same band, but moved from Motown to Epic records - to Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough by Michael Jackson, he grew up to be a sensation and this is why he is lovd by the popular musicians today: Beyoncé, Akon, Britney Spears, and everyone else.
I admire him because he broke records. The album "Thriller" remains the biggest selling album of all time; it remained number one for 87 weeks, he recieved 8 Grammy awards, broke music video barriers for the video of the title track and also set the standards for the rest of the '80s decade. Then came the album "Bad" (which is my favourite), which had 10 tracks; nine of which were released and they all went straight to number one. This hadn't been done before, and still remains impossible to beat.
Aside from his music, I admire his fashion sense and the aura of that still remains - Rihanna is always sporting her own version of some of his iconic things, Ne-Yo and Usher are fans of his trilby hat and the same goes for Justin Timberlake. Michael was never one to pass on the extravagant clothes, everything was over the top. Take his black sequined jacket from the Billie Jean performance, the red shoulder padded jacket from the Thriller video and the studs, buckles and belt from the "Bad" outfit. I love how it looks so effortless and he pulls it off perfectly. And of course, there's the sequin glove...
Has anyone actually never heard of the Moonwalk? Actually, I think the more important question is: is there anyone who hasn't tried to do the Moonwalk? Michael Jackson is one of the most influencial dancers ever. There is the Moonwalker, the spin, the anti-gravity lean from Smooth Criminal, and more contraversially, the crotch grab. When you watch other artists on stage, they are a shadow of how he used to be. This is a big part of why I admire him. There isn't anyone else whose songs you can dance to without looking like an idiot, feel good and just love it... all at the same time.
I wish I was as generous as him. He loved the planet and when he got upset about the disasters of the world, Global warming for example, he described it as "the planet is sick; like a fever. We need to do all we can to heal it." And he did. He donated to 39 different charities, making him the biggest charitable giver of all time. He also set up the Heal The World foundation, of which the profits from the 1993 "Dangerous" tour went to. His songs We Are The World, Man In The Mirror, Heal The World and Earth Song (which all went to number one) where his way of letting people know that we can make a difference. He said it himself: "if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change".
Last of all, I admire the fact that he's Michael Jackson. I admire the fact that he's the one that gets everyone up and moving at parties on the first infectious beat of Billie Jean. I admire the fact that I can listen to The Way You Make Me Feel to make me happy. I admire the fact that he's changed me for the better. I admire that you can relate to his lyrics in your own like. I admire the fact that no matter what rumours people want to believe, he could hit back with a song like "Scream" with his sister Janet and win everyone back. He was Gone Too Soon, but his legacy lives on forever.
That's why he's King of Pop.
That's why I admire him.
-end-
haha, oh heck that was long! I got an A* for this, which I am so pleased with and hope Michael is proud of me. My teacher walked up to me and rubbed my arm and said "it's fabulous, it's clear how much you like him and you've really let him shine through, I loved it"
And she read it out to the class, I was so embarassed!! I thought people would start making fun but as one girl said, they all went speechless haha.
PS. I think I got a few facts wrong, but I had to do this in an hour so I was under pressure!! Haha
