ne-yo mentions about michael's new album

Thread cleaned. Im sure everyone knows personal attacks are against the rules.. Everyone is entitled to their opinions as long as it stays on topic, otherwise take it to PM's. If you have nothing to say about the topic the thread is about, move on to another thread :)

I dunno. I love love love neyo's song writing capabilities and I think that's how he's gonna be featured on the album...not so much singing. I imagine MJ's gonna pick one of his songs to sing. Or maybe none. It seems like NeYo is backing off a lil bit. At first, he was like "YEAH i'm WORKING ON his album,"...NOW, he's probably realized MJ's gonna totally axe whatever ever he doesn't like, that includes ALL of his songs he submitted, so now he's kinda like "i submitted some songs but i dunno if they'll make" lol

I see this a DIRECT GOOD NEWS for several reasons (for all the debbie downers out there).

1. Obviously, it seems as if MJ has complete, and i mean complete control of this project.

2. MJ has a CLEAR vision of how he wants this to sound. Meaning he has a specific goal and he's aiming for it. And any artistic VISION that is in MJ's head that he wants materialized has GOT to be GOOD.

3. MJ is being PICKY. Even in regards to the new artists that he's working with, THEY aren't even sure their stuff is gonna make it. There's no "im working with him. Im gonna be on the album. Its official" except for MAYBE will i am lol. Meaning, again, MJ is doing this on his OWN.

4. The fact that Neyo seems to be backing off a bit on his assured-ness means that, and this is speculation, MJ must be close to finishing. I'm sure NeYo has been trying to get updates on the progress of the album and has probably heard MJ weeding off stuff, or definitely selecting stuff for the album, which would cause NeYo to be LESS confident about his stuff making it...which means MJ is in the selecting process. LOL

5. THERE IS a NEW ALBUM! There is no way mj is gonna be 'picky' about some songs he's dabbling with on his spare time  MJ is not 'picky' about something that he knows will never see the light of day.

Thank You, that helped a whole lot.;)

yes they (incl. Ne-Yo) is submitting songs to Michael but that doesn't mean that they also will produce them. Michael will do that on his own and/or with a few other like Will I Am.
And I'm sure that Michael's been pretty picky on all his adult solo albums.

i saw an interview of MJ i dont recall though, but it;s in youtube

he said that for an album he makes, he'd be able to make at least 100 songs... but only 10 or 12 of it make it to the album..

it's amazing, i dont know what happens to the other 80 songs.. LOL!

and MJ also admitted he's not that organized, like his tape recorders, etc etc..

Well we know what happened to the songs that Will.I.Am gave him when it didn't make the cut. It went on to his own album as Fly Girl. Personally I believe Michael is picky on the songs that he chooses because yeah, he has a clear vision with what he is creating, but more importantly he doesn't want a quick buck from an easily written record. I think he wants to push the artists that he is working with. When they come into the studio with a number 1 hit, he rejects it and tells them to work harder and make something better. So in the end he is making his music more memorable and also the music of the those that he works with...

good point.. !!

I remember P-Diddy being disappointed none of his songs submitted to MJ for the Invincible album made the cut.. He said the songs weren't up-to-par.. to have Mr Ego admit that..

Also, I think with T25 Mike let AKon, Kanye and William have full freedom to remix his classics.. because they are already classics.. etched.. in pop history..so no matter the turn-out.. it was/is a win-win for Michael

but with his own album.. those artist .. who want to be on the album..GOING TO HAVE TO WORK.....

^ Yes..

With T25.. Michael gave them creative control.. I mean he did not even know Fergie did Beat It untill will.i.am had him listen to it.. that shows you how free and willing MJ was to let them do there thing..

With MJ's NEW album, that is 100% a different story.. He knows how important his next album is.. His most JUDGED album. He has said long ago that albums have there hits, and B sides.. He believes there is no reason to have B sides.. All the songs should be good enough to be a hit..

So every song he puts on a record, he believes could be BIG..

Most artists, have there favorites.. throw on some other songs they like, and call it a day..

Michael works on song after song.. when he gets one that he could see being a #1 hit.. that's ONE TRACK... then he goes on some more. Several songs made.. he gets another and there, the SECOND track..

It's a process when u are working for perfection.

Just throwing this in: He has said over and over.. with each album his goal was to out do his last album..

This tells you that he does not just make another album.. He is in compitition with himself..
