Hi everyone!
I'd like to start by offering my heartfelt condolences to all MJ fans.....my heart goes out to you.
My MJ story...well, since I'm 24 now, he's always been present in my life...honestly, some of my earliest memories are of my parents playing his vinyls. I've always enjoyed his music, and I've always admired, supported and believed in him, but sadly, it's only since he left us that I've truly come to understand what a superlative performer and person he is. I mean, well, you guys all know this, but he sure took music, dance, entertainment, dedication, generosity and, well, truth/innocence/purity (I don't know how to put it!) to a new level. In all honesty the last few weeks for me have been an MJ-cocoon of memories, heartbreak, awe, gratefulness and admiration. I feel like I'll never listen to any other music but his....is that weird?
I'm a big Mika fan and on the MikaFanClub we've a thread dedicated to him, and I've found myself only posting in that thread lately. (Actually one of my fellow MFCers made a thread here too.) I've also been lurking here a bit, and right now I feel this is where I need to be.
Here's to a truly beautiful soul torn away from us too soon. As was said at his memorial service, he gave all he had been given. He has changed the world and inspired us to continue his work. Sadly he was misunderstood and misjudged during his life, but I believe he's at peace now.
