This is no way to run a promotion and Pepsi and the MJ Estate know it.
This is not supposed to be a 'hunt the can' promotion but that's the way it has ended up being...

Haha my boss got it for me he also has 2 cases. You can get them if you ask the promotion supposedly over after 4th stores just give them away. Simply ask.
 
Awesome, FINALLY found a bunch over here in UT at a local Smith's grocery store. I thought for sure they were going to skip this promotion, and I was thinking of doing the online thing someplace. Glad I didn't, since they had a whole big box full......cool to see some MJ love over here in my neck of the woods. Not too common.

From the Michael Jackson Estate : We are aware that fans in the U.S. have been having some difficulty locating the special edition Bad 25 Pepsi Cans. Pepsi would like you to know that Wal-mart is the retailer that has the most widespread distribution in the U.S., but as retailers vary by market, distribution may be uneven.

Pepsi invites you to call their consumer hotline for more information as
the staff is equipped with information about the Pepsi cans.
The hotline number is: 1-800-433-2652
 
Finally got these in my area. My mom found them by luck and knows I've been looking for them so she picked up a couple. Now I just can't decide if I want to drink them or keep them haha.
 
I asked the Estate about Mexico design and New York music festival

Yes, these are the 3 can designs created (the second image in the JPEG is the back of each of the cans, it is not a separate can design). Each Pepsi market had the option of using whichever of the 3 designs they wanted. China, like the US, used only 1 design, other markets may elect to use 1 or more of the 3 designs. Mexico obviously opted for all 3.

There are also live events, e.g., flash mobs, etc., being done by different markets. In the US, they are planning a live event as well, but there is no “music festival”.

Turkey is the third country to get special edition Pepsi MJ Cans. The cans are the regular 330 ml size and has the same design as the US and China cans. However the cans have a notice about a local contest on them as well. Pepsi Turkey promotion runs between June 22nd and July 15th.

Pepsi is also running a TV ad to announce the competition in Turkey as well as introduce the Bad 25 anniversary release.


The ad mentions a contest with a chance to win a trip to the celebration of MJ's music in New York for 25th Anniversary of Bad album. Earlier translations wrongly stated it was a "festival", however the correct translation is just "celebration".

The contest requires people either to send special codes that can be found on Pepsi items or send a video of themselves dancing like Michael Jackson

The voice over in the ad says

"To honor the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Bad album, Pepsi drinkers are going to New York. Send your Pepsi passcode to 7516 (screen says with your name and address information) or if you say "I can dance like Michael Jackson" upload your video to Pepsi (Turkey) facebook page and win a chance to attend to the Michael Jackson music celebration in New York"

The end of the ad shows Bad 25 album with the notice "In stores 18.9.2012". the twitter hashtag #popunkralimichaeljackson is Turkish translation of "King of Pop Michael Jackson"

The rules state that the trip is 4 days, 3 nights and between August 28 and August 31st. Assuming August 28 and August 31 is the travel dates, logically it leaves the concert to be either on August 29 or August 30th.

Turkish fans also report that a major retailer chain is giving free MJ Pepsi t-shirt with purchase of multiple Pepsi products. The t-shirt seems to be darker in color than the China version although it might be just a light difference.

That shirt looks great! Are they going to have T-shirts for the USA promotion? We haven't gotten much love from Pepsi during this campaign so far but I'm hoping they will turn it around as we get closer to this New York celebration.
 
I know this will sound bad but I feel like left out of all this. None of this is coming to where I live. I know it is starting in certain places but it should be all over for the fans. I am looking forward to Bad 25 and I know that is coming.

What concert in NY are they referring to, I wonder. All I know of is the Spike Lee thing but that's not really a concert.
