May the Merciful Lord show His mercy to everyone because we all need it - young and old, rich and poor, weak and strong, famous and not. From world leaders with global responsibilities to homeless individuals, from young families to couples of the elderly, everyone needs His love and guidance.
May He comfort those for whom the only answer left is solace in the face of irrevocable circumstances - the death of loved ones, terminal disease or life-long disabilities. May He give strength and bring an end to the trials of people for whom there is still another way out of sorrow than mere acceptance.
Let His mercy shine not just in this upcoming jubilee year, but forever more, especially in the darkest of days and nights. May we also, in our imperfect and flawed service, become tools of His mercy and remember love as the single, greatest debt we all have towards one another.
