Positive MJ references in film/tv/music (list them here)

And I have to mention this one... Foy Vance performing Billie Jean at Motel Mozaique in Rotterdam, 2008. I was there, it was electrifying... (and I am still thanking the person who recorded and uploaded it). The audience was actually waiting for Goldfrapp, but we got Foy first. Everyone was sitting on the floor, and after a few songs of his own, Foy Vance introduced Billie Jean. He made a 'deal' with the audience never to ask him to sing the song again – I later understood his performance of Billie Jean was overshadowing his own songs, people kept asking him to sing it.
It was an amazing vocal performance, and the audience really liked it, as you can hear.

This cover by Ian Brown is one of my favorites.
It's good indeed, a very different take, thanks for reminding me of that.

It must have been a nice experience (and surprise), thanks for sharing! Loved the reaction of the audience too, and it must have been cosy to enjoy the concert sitting on the floor! :)

It's very fortunate indeed that someone recorded and uploaded it, I love these very different interpretations.

Amazing that Caetano Veloso covered MJ twice. He is one of the great songwriters of the last 40 years. He breaths new life into those songs.

Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (from Chungking Express, In The Mood For Love, Infernal Affairs etc.) makes an attempt  to moonwalk and do some MJ moves at 1:39 (Chinese Odyssey 2002 by Jeffrey Lau):

It's not just Bollywood that's influenced by MJ in India, here's an excerpt from Telugu cinema:

Disclaimer: it's addictive! :D

Holy shit, this video was everywhere on the internet in the mid-2000s. I remember singing the misheard lyrics when I was a kid!

kimfieldsofficial: wbw honoring James Ingram 😪 this is from the recording of Michael Jackson’s PYT which James wrote w/ @quincydjones. @janetjackson invited @mindycohn & I to the session. As I said yesterday after hearing of James’s passing... I have a small collection of memories of him and his fam. This is the first one.

This little girl later became the lead singer for Sylver which is a eurodance pop band that might be known to some. Here she sings a Dutch version of "Ben".
