Latest on MJJC

So you all know

if you need urgent money we should have around $300 after fees for transcripts donated by members to the general donations paypal. we can use that and keep petra's transcript fund for the transcripts.
 
Is that a defo as I need to add it to the bar manually which once done we must ensure the $300 is then deducted out of all the money sitting in there for transcripts.

Sorry I'm just panicking as I looked yesterday and was like OMG take out the transcripts money there is nothing left for the server.
 
Yeah had a couple come in since I made the call, hopefully we will get to our target, oh and I've not added the 300 to the bar as I need a final yes on it.

We should have $896 net - after paypal fees & transcripts bought deducted - from Petra for transcripts. Please make sure that money is not touched.

6 other members have donated $375 gross. We need to deduct any paypal fees, and I think one of them ( $40) could be through donation bar and already added. Anyway that's why I said $300, I would imagine the net after all deductions will be around $300.

Obviously I would like to keep that $300 for transcripts if we can but as we talked before and told the members, if we need it we can use it for the server.

If you need I can give you the user names and amounts for that 6 donators.
 
We have little choice but to use it as we've fallen behind on the target, the important factor is we must stay ahead or around the percentage for the year. my concerns of what was our main donator not donating to the server is now showing how much we have been carried by one person.

I will now add the 300 to the bar, please can you let me know the 6 users so I can inform them and make them club members.
 
Ok, based on the pointless turn out to help. I am not going to bother anymore. So fed up with seeing the likes of Malik and rose projects even thst MJ pointless yeah right they are going to build a hospital come on the scene only to raise thousands yet a long standing worlds most popular fan club struggle each and every month.

It's a fact if we did not raid the $350 transcript fund there would not be enough to pay Julys.

So I give up. When we hit 56% which I envision to be we not be able to pay August or Septembers thus we will go offline.

I ask you all to make preparations for what ever it may be you want to do on your own twitters or facebook.

I will make the needed changes my end.
 
we just need to make a more visible donation request on the forum I think. a new thread that we constantly keep in front of their eyes
 
Hmm, I think that people don't realize that there are bills to pay and they take MJJC for granted. Also, I think that the fact that the donation bar at the top of the homepage represents the costs for a year, people don't realize that there are monthly costs and just think there's still time until the end of the year. Perhaps if the bar were monthly, it would seem more pressing. And perhaps if it is possible to have it at the top of every sub-forum and thread, not just the homepage, that would help. Because a lot of users seldom visit the home page. Many only post in threads they are subscribed to which they check from their userCP, or they simply use the "New Posts" feature and use bookmarks or such to get to those pages. So they don't see the bar as much. :)

That's the way I see it anyway.

Like Karom said... Indeed, people don't realize HOW much a 'dot com' site costs... You have pay 'extra' for slideshows, videos even a stupid 'searchbox' costs money :doh:

I ONLY found out when I started my own site on Weebly... I NOW still have the FREE version but I've 'learnt' how BLOODY much it can cost if you want the 'FULL featured' one though :blink:

Daz No you should not have to and im certainly not going to tell you how much so you can donate more sorry but no way. simple fact is if every member who visits gave a measly five bucks we would be done for the year. But not those piss takers clearly don't care and don't want to put back in what they take.

I am fed up with this age old battle, yet others seem like they can appear and raise thousands for pointless planes with a message no one reads but us.

There is a fact here. For the last two years we have been carried by one member, if it were not for her we would be gone long ago.

I will look into the bar on all pages. And I'm going to start taking more away from the general members and adding to club members in a bid to get them to help.
 
That might work. Also, I think the information on how club membership works as well as that donation thread should somehow be put in more visible places, because knowing people, most have not even bothered to get informed or simply have not stumbled upon that information especially if they are newer to the board.

I have noticed that most of the members here have been a part of this board for less than three years. When I joined the board, there were certain features that are now no longer available to general members, but those who have recently joined do not know about those and thus won't feel their absence. So perhaps a little mention of what those perks and privileges are? If that isn't too tacky of course. I'm just brainstorming here.

Anyway, I think the two threads I mentioned earlier should be made more visible. Out of sight, out of mind. :yes:
 
I agree, at the meantime let's start another thread about needing donations, I don't think anyone reads that thread we have stickied in the news section.

In College, I got a 'detailed' list with what I could 'expect' from the fee I had to pay to follow this 'course' ... So, that you're informed WHY you had to pay that amount and HOW your money was 'spend'... In times of crisis, people want that...

So, an 'Informative' thread would be nice that 'pinpoints' all the 'perks and privileges' if you donate and the amount shouldn't matter here, right?

gaz I say next week - after death anniversary is over - let's start a new thread in the news section saying we only have money for july and ask people to donate for the rest of the year and more.
 
The two changes implemented today will be all for a couple of weeks - my aim is to do a little bit here and a little bit there forum service wise.
