Japanese educational magazine "English Journal"(EJ) Aug2010 issue printed the article which is very disgrateful to Michael Jackson. To stop tabloid bullshits even on this kind of materials, plz. sign up! we demand the magazine for their official revision & apology printed on their coming issue. on 23 Jul, EJ said they had no intention to do so. your signatures &comments posted here before early morning of July 26th have been sent to EJ, and the coming signatures will be sent later. for more update, plz. follow me on twitter. http://twitter.com/zooma1994

This letter is directed to the English Journal for printing such a disgraceful article and to the so called writer, if that's what you call yourself, Ochi for writing an article so full of lies and hate towards Mr. Michael Jackson. Get your fact straight Mr. Jackson suffered from vitiligo, which i am very familiar with throughout my 20 years of nursing, how dare you write Mr. Jackson tried to change himself to white. You people who write these disrespectful articles aren't gaining anything from those of us who know the truth and are well informed of Mr. Jackson's illnesses, you write things and have the nerve to USE Mr. Jackson's name to get attention. You want attention or respect??, then write about what a great artist he was, how many lives he saved, his humanitarianism, his Legacy, how he changed music, how he taught the world to love and not be prejudice, and what a loving, caring, giving father and human being he was...then you will have our respect!!!!!!!!! You need to revise your article, and write an APOLOGY for your slanderous lies, Donna M. Freitas

Thank you for posting. I will co-sign asap.
I have also informed my colleagues on the Media Advocacy team of the Legacy Project to see if there are more ways to deal with it.

I have signed the petition as well. In the comment section I added this text:

Michael Jackson suffered from discoid lupus and vitiligo very badly, that turned his skin white. He could not help this, but even out the blotches. As a private person he did not want to discuss his medical history with the world, having given so much of himself to the world. Please treat Mr. Jackson with the respect he deserves. Thank you!

I will sign today. Espousing ones own belief in their racial superiority under the guise of an intellectual conversation is nothing new. I am not going to assume this man is ignorant of the facts concerning Michael, just that he is ignorant.

I believe we will far better results in several letters are sent to the publisher which contain documented evidence that Michael did in fact have two autoimmune conditions; that he did in fact seek to have his color restored before the condition went beyond the point of no return. This kind of document evidence is found in the court transcripts reported by a court appoint Dermatologist.

Because of our history with Japan I do not think demands and anger are the way to get a retraction or to get the publishers to pay us attention. The speaker used stereotyped beliefs that all Blacks are at a disadvantage to their White counterparts here and the fact of the racial tone of the witch hunt to propagate his theory that Michael wished to be White, because Michael wish to be like him. (superior)

Petitions are like punishing the young, should be a last resort and if used too often it losses its' effectiveness. Unless there will be a negative consequence to a petition, such as loss of audience, sponsorship, money or credibility with the public it may be ignored.
