I find it really cool and funny that, when you listen to the Dangerous demos, Mike was essentially working on two albums at once. He surrounded himself with so many brilliant and varied musicians and writers, and he was one himself, of course, so it's no surprise that he stayed on top for so long. Never afraid to make the next step, never afraid to bring someone new into the fold.
Whenever I speak to someone who isn't fully sure of The King, I like to show them his unreleased stuff. That's where you can really hear him experimenting and pushing boundaries. I mentioned this a couple of years back but I am far more invested in all the ongoing stuff surrounding his unreleased catalogue these days.
