The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Among those released by the estate, let's say no one really cares about "Another Day" or "Got The Hots."

Among the unreleased definitely "Seeing Voices," and a track that has been discussed little to be forgotten is "Dream Away" imho.

Totally unheard? Too many, "Saturday Woman", "Boots Groove", etc
What parameters are we talking?

Leaked? (like Seeing Voices)

MJ unreleased but estate released? (like Hollywood Tonight)

Totally unheard? (like Saturday Woman)

There are a few titles that really intrigue me just based on the name lol, even though we have no info on these unreleased tracks:

"Going To Rio," "Rolling The Dice," "Make Or Break," "Be Me 4 A Day," "Lucy Is In Love with Linus," "Beatbox 2010," "Red Eye," and "Michael McKeller" all sound cool af, even if most of them are just instrumentals

"Rocker" definitely deserves more attention too considering the leaked snippet that was confirmed authentic, though some parts were edited with AI

Nymphette Lover. Interesting title. There's really no info about that one other than it might have been recorded in 1981.
This is what I would've went for as my answer last night.

My parameter was vague and undecided but that's just like this fandom; we want something, just anything, whether it happens or in what form is anyone's else.

For me its literally every song recorded post Invincible haha

Also, I‘m very interested about the title „We Are The Ones“. We dont know anything about it right? I was always wondering if it has any connection to We are the World

What is the least talked about unreleased song?
I was thinking about the title "MJ Melody" one of these days, just what on earth could that possibly be lol. Is it a demo? A concept? A melody idea? I've seen someone theorize that it could've been something for Motown 25. I hardly see that song be brought up, if ever.

"Love Heals" is also another that sparks my interest. Likely an instrumental groove given the era it's from, but I'd still love to learn more about it.
Imo the Estate could at least make the original demo's public of songs that already have been released or used, like the Paul Anka stuff; what does the original recording of 'Don't Matter To Me' sound like for example
I still think that the Estate should've released the demo of "Don't Matter To Me" on Thriller 40 instead of "Can't Get Out Of The Rain". Literally wouldn't have given them any loss the same way lol.

This was written and recorded in 78 and registered in 84. I’ve felt anything recorded late 70’s and registered in 84 was for his potential concept album. Since Michael was under the impression his 3 album deal was complete after E.T., he began putting the songs together for the album. During Off the Wall, he already had the idea cued up for release after Thriller

I think the pack of registrations was due to his then copyright infringement deposition.

It could also be due to that since he was being sued for allegedly stealing TGIM but I'd think he'd copyright songs that had similar chord progressions since they played songs like That's What You Get and Thank You for Life but everything is also registered in November with the deposition taking place in December

If we're talking all the unheard stuff - almost all of them lmao

but from the leaked songs i'd say I've Gotta Be Me, I Can't Get You Off My Mind, (probably) Christmas Star + a lot of writer's demos like Bryan Loren's Dream Girl, Steve Porcaro's Change, or all the Dr. Freeze demos, and Korg Nex' snippets from 2 years ago
i'd also say the Spanish version of What More Can I Give, since there's literally no discussions about it or info on the internet that's able to determine whether it's a leak or not, or the date it appeared on the internet, it just kinda exists

I read somewhere that the rapper Lil Baby will have a Mike feature to his album. Will it be an unrelease song? Or just a sample? Thoughts?

I’m presuming it’s just a sample. Lil Baby isn’t nearly big enough for the estate to sanction an unreleased song for him. Drake kinda makes sense because he’s Drake.

Thank You for Life was played at the 1984 deposition? I always thought the only unreleased song played was The Toy

Correct. Blues Away, Thank You For Life, That's What You Get (For Being Polite) and Why Can't I Be all share similar chords to The Girl is Mine and were played to demonstrate Michael used the progression years prior to TGIM

"Oh, yes, lots of other songs...They are mainly the same chords that I use in so many...of my songs in the past, that I have written. That's What You get for Being Polite is one. Others would be, Why Can't I Be, Thank You For Life, all these have the main - the same type of chords as The Girl Is Mine" - Michael 1984

"He filmed most of the session...He had a film crew there, lighting crew, cameraman. Christopher Cross stopped by, Dick Clark came in, Lionel Richie came in, the engineer, Quincy Jones, my sister (LaToya) came; my mother came. There was a lot of traffic" - Michael 1984

I wonder if we'll ever get the full footage from Paul

They really should have made a music video of The Girl Is Mine from the footage they had of the recording sessions to promote Thriller 40, not a huge investment on their part and it would have generated a bit of buzz around it.

Speaking of recording sessions & music vids: the snippets of MJ & Siedah of "singing" together as shown in the Bad25 documentary, it's clearly a mockup. Most likely shot for a music video that never got released. I wonder if its editing was ever completed back in the day.

Does footage from the actual recording session of them singing together exist?
