Doubt he will. Maybe we can ask him questions for clarity, but who knows if he'll wanna share detailsWonder if Korgnex will ever share the unadulterated (supposedly) Dangerous-era version...
what songs does Korgnex even own?Don‘t get your hopes up
Whatever he has, I don't think he should butcher around or mess with it like he does.what songs does Korgnex even own?
Well I guess its his way of leaking without saying its a leakWhatever he has, I don't think he should butcher around or mess with it like he does.
Sacrilege in a sense, but oh well...Well I guess its his way of leaking without saying its a leak
I remember asking him at the time it released in the comments and I think he said it was dangerous? Not surethen someone ask korgnex then, cause if multiple sources say its from Thriller, its most likely from it
I live in Glendale and I have no recollection of a Yamaha R&D Studio, did it close? cant find any info on it onlineAs it turns out, Sunset Driver was recorded at Yamaha R&D Studios in Glendale, California... That studio appears to have opened in 1981 and Keith Seppanen began his role as chief engineer there at the same time.
It's there if you check Discogs for information on both.
Which points to Sunset Driver being recorded at least as early as 1981... Presuming both credits are accurate.
It was definitely a short version of the song, I also remember me being told which version was supposed to be on there but I don‘t remember which one it was going to be, it either was a shortened down version of the 1987 or of the 1991 mixRandom thought but considering that SPYHO was listed on an early listing for Bad SE, I wonder if the version that leaked is the same as the one intended for the SE on the early tracklist

somehow I highly doubt it.Korg’s is actually from the Dangerous sessions
that explains why Sunset Driver sounds so markedly different from the other tracks recorded at Westlake. As it turns out, Sunset Driver was recorded at Yamaha R&D Studios in Glendale, California... It's there if you check Discogs for information on both... It featured on the Feb '84 issue of Mix magazine - a professional music industry/studio magazine from the time - which said the studio was just under 3 years old then...

1019 S Central Ave Glendale, CA 91204, apparently was bought out by another studio and that studio was taken over by another business in the mid 2010s, but seemingly, its still a recording studio to this day
Probably closed ages ago by the looks of it.
He literally said it‘s not from Thriller or Badsomehow I highly doubt it.
my personal theory is that he took other cues from other tapes done for the Bad-era version.
It was the '91 versionIt was definitely a short version of the song, I also remember me being told which version was supposed to be on there but I don‘t remember which one it was going to be, it either was a shortened down version of the 1987 or of the 1991 mix
The leak is probably from the early Dangerous sessions, or maybe from Bad... One of the tape inserts from Sundberg leaks dates SPYHO to February 1990.The version on Bad SE is literally just the Dangerous version but shortened lol
Probably just an unused "album edit".The version on Bad SE is literally just the Dangerous version but shortened lol
Thank you for this! This is about as concrete as we’ll get short of seeing the session sheets. As it turns out, Sunset Driver was recorded at Yamaha R&D Studios in Glendale, California... behind mask wasnt in it?This was an early Thriller list before songs were replaced during the last few weeks of the session
Wanna Be Startin Somethin
Hot Street
The Girl Is Mine
Thriller
Billie Jean
She's Trouble
Nightline
Carousel
The Lady In My Life
Would’ve taken TGIM demo over CGOOTRI'm alright with "Hot Street" not being on Thriller 40, the song would've stood out way too much in comparison to the songs that ended up on disc 2 which most of them were nothing remarkable to begin with, so I'd prefer that it's saved for a proper album.
What still pisses me off, however, is that they put CGOOTR on the tracklist. Why couldn't have they put on the demo of "Don't Matter To Me" instead? The song has already been released, it technically wouldn't make the Estate waste an unheard song while at the same time it would still give the fans something "new" to enjoy. It would've been a safer pick.

To my knowledge, BTM was cut before the album became Thriller. Since Michael wrote an additional verse, he wanted a bigger percentage and Yellow Orchestra pretty much said “no” and declined the clearance. All “alleged” of course^^
