Blues_Away2023I’m not having y’all diss the reworked Xscape version of Loving You , which I thought was brilliant and really better than the bland and dated demo.
The only song that they really butchered on Xscape was the title track and that was by Jerkins himself , not sure how he thought his new version was better - was so boring!
That’s a hardliner take. And everything but nuanced. Not at all.All the remixes totally miss and ruin the vibe of the original tracks. No respect paid at all.
It's intended to be that way.The demo's intro is quite strange, sounding like church bells underwater.
Absolutely.I was gonna go into a big ranking sphiel but honestly, let's just test the moral quandary
Y'all talking Invincible over Xscape?
My initial thought was it sounded like the tape was warped, but you're right, it was confirmed it was supposed to sound that way. It's intended to be that way.
I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but for some reason I have a feeling they didn't put a lot of effort in making sure the original versions on the album sounded as great as the remixes, quality wiseThe remix of Loving You is more uptempo than the demo and very well done. The demo's intro is quite strange, sounding like church bells underwater.
Instead of a love song meant to touch the heart, the intro sounds more like a lulling goodnight song. But if that's how it's meant to be, fine. It fits the lyrics:It's intended to be that way.
To make it even more fitting: I think Michael had a cold when he sang it, he sounds sniffyInstead of a love song meant to touch the heart, the intro sounds more like a lulling goodnight song. But if that's how it's meant to be, fine. It fits the lyrics:
And the weatherman said if you're not well, stay in bed
The demos sounded very bad, yeah.I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but for some reason I have a feeling they didn't put a lot of effort in making sure the original versions on the album sounded as great as the remixes, quality wise
I said that like a month ago, that's just common senseBottom line: if anyone gets their hands on something they shouldn’t have, it will leak eventually.
Cory Rooney was very annoyed that a mono version of She Was Lovin' Me was used on the album too. They knew full well the original song sounded like a much better "Michael Jackson" song so they had to cripple it.I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but for some reason I have a feeling they didn't put a lot of effort in making sure the original versions on the album sounded as great as the remixes, quality wise
You’re absolutely right. Genuinely shocking how some of those demos sounded. Same with the second disc of T40.I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but for some reason I have a feeling they didn't put a lot of effort in making sure the original versions on the album sounded as great as the remixes, quality wise
Carousel is appalling, absolutely appalling. You’re absolutely right. Genuinely shocking how some of those demos sounded. Same with the second disc of T40.
Thankfully we got people like Ale and Beano to remaster them every now and thenThe demos sounded very bad, yeah.
It gives it that dreamy seducing feel. Its a very relaxing song. I love itIt's intended to be that way.
Yeah, had to think about the DVD, where Timbaland and Reid tap on their own shoulders while having an imaginary orgasm. smhMy initial thought was it sounded like the tape was warped, but you're right, it was confirmed it was supposed to sound that way.
It's like the same 10-year old kid responsible for the blurbs & new album cover did also compile and edit the bonus tracks with some freeware audio editor. You’re absolutely right. Genuinely shocking how some of those demos sounded. Same with the second disc of T40.
It's almost like they (Estate) hate spending anytime on releasing any demos, unless they can modernize them. It's like the same 10-year old kid responsible for the blurbs & new album cover did also compile and edit the bonus tracks with some freeware audio editor.
How do you know that? It's intended to be that way.
John Barnes had talked about it.How do you know that?
Oh really, the 'warped' intro? InterestingJohn Barnes had talked about it.
It isn't warped its just the modulation of the synthesizer being messed with during the intro to give it the dreamy feelOh really, the 'warped' intro? Interesting
