The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I’m not having y’all diss the reworked Xscape version of Loving You , which I thought was brilliant and really better than the bland and dated demo.

The only song that they really butchered on Xscape was the title track and that was by Jerkins himself , not sure how he thought his new version was better - was so boring!

On that two songs we 100% agree!
„Loving You“ is the best work on Xscape.
Timbaland elevated a dated & little boring demo into a modern day hit.

And Jerkins managed to ruin an already perfect & finished track. maybe one of his best works with MJ, BEFORE his butchering..

Though I think there are more highlights and also more downsides to Xscape.
Thank got we got the OG‘s with it, that’s not only good for authenticity but we can also pick & choose which version is better.

All the remixes totally miss and ruin the vibe of the original tracks. No respect paid at all.
That’s a hardliner take. And everything but nuanced. Not at all.

‚Loving You - Remix‘ to ‚Loving You - Demo‘
is like the ‚Dangerous - Album Version‘ to ‚Dangerous - Alternative Version‘.
Leaps and bounds ahead..

The same goes for LNFSG.

Xscape, Blue Gangster & DYKWYCA (to me) are offensive.

I do enjoy both versions of Chicago, Slave & APWNN.

The remix of Loving You is more uptempo than the demo and very well done. The demo's intro is quite strange, sounding like church bells underwater.
I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but for some reason I have a feeling they didn't put a lot of effort in making sure the original versions on the album sounded as great as the remixes, quality wise

Cory Rooney was very annoyed that a mono version of She Was Lovin' Me was used on the album too. They knew full well the original song sounded like a much better "Michael Jackson" song so they had to cripple it.

You’re absolutely right. Genuinely shocking how some of those demos sounded. Same with the second disc of T40.

Calvin Harris has an album called Funk Wav Bounces which is very vintage sounding - the intro to the original loving you demo reminds me of quite a few of the sounds on that album.

This in particular, I genuinely thought it was some warped old school tape .

Btw someone edited the tracker and added what I believe is false info on the Streetwalker section, such as removing the trash remix. If someone could fix that, that'd be great
