In contrast to The Toy which is very developed vocally and lyrically, yet is a pretty basic composition that still feels like the same era. And remained so for basically 30 years.Year of composition is listed as 1981 but I think it's one of those songs Michael probably had in his head for a while, which is why it sounds so polished outside of the lyrics.
That's great buddyI've resigned myself to the fact that we're not getting anything else. The vaults are done. The Estate doesn't give a s***.
There are still more Thriller outtakes we have yet to hear. Also some from The Jacksons albums (Destiny, Triumph, and Victory). BAD is the goldmine. Maybe a few from Dangerous, like you mention Joy.The best material left is from the 80s. The 90s probably have the odd track that’s decent (Joy) 2000s have essentially nothing complete, 70s probably has more developed material but it’s probably just not that great. The 80s are where it’s at. Especially Bad outtakes.
No we will probably get a greatest hits to co incide with the new movie next year. However when it comes to concerts , new releases , I think a definete no. Maybe unoffical ones but I would love to see a Victory Tour performance , we know they have them in amazing quality hence the quality on the Thriller documentary but I think there were plans years ago to release it but it was vetoed by the brothers , probably a question of money. Though we will never know what is in these vaults and what has happened .I've resigned myself to the fact that we're not getting anything else. The vaults are done. The Estate doesn't give a s***.
No idea. Wouldn't be shocked but I have no ideaDoes that include the Will.I.Am stuff? And RedOne?
This!I've resigned myself to the fact that we're not getting anything else. The vaults are done. The Estate doesn't give a s***.
But if teddy riley can't even find the og recording....I feel like we'll never ever hear it. I highly doubt the estate has a copy or we probably would've been heard it by now.Maybe a few from Dangerous, like you mention Joy.
So there's still some gems left. But we aren't getting any younger.
Most of the reels from that auction were other artists songs with the exception of 2 or 3 that were labeled for Michael and mixed by Bruce.Do we know anything about the song „Dreams“ thats been mentioned in this screenshot from the Dangerous sessions?
Also, what about the songs from the auction last year. Does the Estate have the master tapes in their possession as for now?

The problem, in my opinion, is that many fans on here see Michael’s music, his art, as nothing but “content”.It's kind of bleak how even though we know for a fact that the vault is filled with content (all in varying state of completion obviously but nothing that stops us fans from enjoying them) 8/10 of the times we even get to hear new material is because of seminar leaks, otherwise we would have gotten no new songs for almost 10 years.
That's still something I want to do, but it seems like a lot of work... time and money. And the other thing is, not all the songs at the Copyright office are in their final state as they were left. Some were further progressed, but not residing at the office. And also, not everything is there. To my knowledge, the holy grail Buffalo Bill is not there. We're better off going to the Copyright office and hearing the songs submitted.
And it's VERY expensive too, I saw someone requesting the song Dark Lady and they charged over $300 for it, imagine how expensive it could get if you requested multiple songs, or even one of those registered tapes which the search fee is said to be even more costly. It's no wonder very few people went on to do this kind of thing. That's still something I want to do, but it seems like a lot of work... time and money. Another possible gem in the vaults, just collecting dust.Bill Bottrell:
"Leave Me Alone" was finished and mixed.
The BAD version sounds identical and I don't know what they say was changed.
We worked all day and into the night on Feb 28, 1986 on "Bad Girl" including vocals. I'm not sure what level of completion. We never worked on it again.
Since it wasn't worked on more than that day, I can't remember how it sounded.
I maintained strict security, I never took home tapes.

Michael supposedly wanted Unbreakable as the first single but Sony chose YRMW. Unbreakable was supposed to feature Mel Gibson in the short film but once Sony rejected the idea, it started the rift between him and the labelguys, I understand that the question is a little off topic: What is known about the “Unbreakable” video? I remember reading that it was in development
I remember i read something about concept, MJ fall from build or something similarMichael supposedly wanted Unbreakable as the first single but Sony chose YRMW.
