The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

But MJ worked on both of them and expressed an interest in putting vocals down. By nature, those songs stick out more than others.
well it's just my personal opinion and I have only heard around half of both tracks but from what I have heard it's like not on MJ's level of writing

I’m interested in writers demos for songs that MJ actively worked on and/or wanted to record. “Jungle City,” “Shut Up and Dance,” etc. If they’re just songs written for MJ, that’s not really my interest point.
Exactly! And it's just what I was trying to say. Those songs, though may not have been recorded by MJ but instead by another vocalist are still MJ songs by extension since he made contributions to them, so they retain a certain value. Songs like "Jungle City", "Is She Coming Back", Shut Up and Dance", the Ne-Yo songs, etc. sparks almost as much interest in me as an original MJ song would, especially if we know it comes from a good producer/songwriter.

Now if we're talking about, say, a writer's demo that Michael himself rejected like "Serious Moonlight", then yeah I couldn't give a shred of a shit about it lol

(*Some songs in this List have been Released! But I been playing them so long I didn't know what happened to them with all those "LEAKS"!)

To many to mention and too painful to see how they made sure these tracks were not released because they would never ever allow him to HIT another THRILLER or even SUPASS IT! They were terrified of the power and intelligence he already had what would have happened to SONY if they didn't secure that he could never do it with again with all the sneaky lowdown tricks from the online leaks and not filling record shelves with enough albums sales to blow their devilish minds!
They could never stop US his Fans and til this day they want us to let them erase everything he ever did, without them!!
Michael had more than enough SONGS, HIT'S to make 5 more THILLERS!!! I KNOW IT!!

I AM TRULY GRATEFUL THIS THEAD IS ALIVE AND WELL!! 👞🧤❤️LOVE YOU ALL!!

My crackhead theory is that "Walk Away" and "Don't Walk Away" are really the same song tbh, just alternate titles. "Walk Away" probably would've been the official title, and what was on the bedroom notes was just an incorrect title like "Ways You Love Me" and "The Loser" were.

It would also have been confusing if Michael gave a song the same title as a song that he had released just a few years prior at the time of his passing, too.
One of my fave Marvin Gaye songs is instrumental. I think there's value in hearing those kinds of tracks.
Agreed! There are a good amount of MJ songs that can be a great listen just with the instrumental track alone, Michael's voice pretty much just makes it the cherry on top. "Will You Be There", "Stranger In Moscow", "Beat It," etc. sound great on their own.

And on the unreleased side of stuff "Photographs" And "From The Bottom Of My Heart" are nice groves too. And I'm sure there are more that sound excellent, especially coming from the later years as that's all there is for the most part lol.

I’m right there with you. Honestly, I’ve grown to appreciate unreleased songs of all stages of completion. Even if MJ’s just mumbling, it’s fascinating to see what was going on in his head and to wonder where a song could’ve gone.

Exactly, but MJ‘s involvement is key.
If he created instrumentals, great.
Get it on.
Like I’m still hoping for his classical ideas/compositions to be released one day.

Is there any backstory on how the thriller era demos leaked in the early 2000s (baby be mine, Wbss, hot street, and state of shock)

Riley was only brought in during the early months of 2001, and the original 1999 configuration of the album included compositions by Brad Buxer, Dr. Freeze, Walter Afanasieff, and Cory Rooney. Oh yeah, and at least one track from Wyclef Jean and Rodney Jerkins

Actually, MJ said during an interview in late 2000 that Teddy Riley had already been brought in.

I think what happened was Rodney Jerkins took a break to work on other projects (maybe Brandy's Full Moon album), so MJ reached out to Riley.

Story I heard is that there was an MJ fan event of some sort and a collector passed on a cassette tape of demos and outtakes, which was eventually transferred and leaked. Not sure how true that is.

State of shock ?? A different version / demo ? The leaks from Thriller occured in 2002. Those tracks were considered for the 2001 special edition . In early 2000 , several projects were strike by leaks. Usher , RKelly , Nas, D'angelo etc...

I wonder if we'll ever get rehearsal footage from the 30th anniversary show. This jacket was created by Bush and Tompkins for Thriller but was cut due to time constraints. There's also a patent leather version of his Bad outfit
