Ok, I have to make a thread now because I am overanalyzing by myself and need some opinions.
I see Michael everywhere on my social media now (even more than before), which is great, don't get me wrong. Also an algorithm thing for sure. People are celebrating his music, his short films etc. and I love how positive most people's opinions are. But... I have a weird feeling all the time.
Let me quote something I wrote some weeks ago, that maybe explains my thoughts best:
"I was on the train today and thinking about it. For me, it feels like I am carrying a glass ball, with a whole universe inside it and I am carrying it with all the other fans and we are carefully holding it, silently, fascinated.
And now other people want to touch it with their sticky little fingers, they don't wash their hands before touching it and are screaming "look, it's so cool!!!" even though they don't understand what it's all about. Maybe silly, but that's the picture that came into my mind."
I have seen influencers posting reels with his music etc. even if they don't have a clue about him. I assume just because it's trending and they get more views this way. People celebrating his music and probably don't do any research on him as a person and so on...
Don't get me wrong, I want as many people as possible to fall in love with his artistry and with him as a person. People who carry on his legacy in the future. But I feel like most people are so "fascinated" right now for some weeks and afterwards will forget everything about it...and I can't get over it. Don't know why this bothers me so much... because I tend to overanalyse, yes...but
... opinions please?
Will go to bed now and hopefully read some different points on the topic tomorrow. Thanks in advance
.
And I am aware it sounds kinda dumb, don't tell me, please
. Just sharing my feelings.
Edit: I am not talking about new fans who are discovering him now and are really interested in him and his music!
