The main problem of History album is Teddy Riley's absence?

Money was one of the only songs MJ self produced. Nothing "vapid" about that. It does not need Teddy's idiosyncrasies on top of that, and pretty much shows that MJ could've done it all if he wanted to.
 
HIStory has some of Michael's finest moments but as an entire album there's more filler than I'd like. Dangerous is a better album for me but it's not a huge drop off. the drop off is with Invincible and it's steep.
Just cut Come Together (which was recorded in the 80s) and trim out the long unrelated intros of classical music and Sound Effects and you have a great 67-minute-or-so album in HIStory
 
btw, in the interview, Teddy said, that he WORKED on History album. Probably he just confused it with BOTDF album, which some of fans considered part of History
