Michael Jackson’s most streamed daily songs on Spotify !
1. Billie Jean: 1,441,415
2. Beat It: 725,745
3. Smooth Criminal: 425,740
4. Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough: 388,194
5. Thriller: 332,092 T

At this rate it will take a good 5 years for Smooth criminal and thriller to join the billion club but things will speed up after the biopic I suppose.

Ngl, the YT figures mean more to me than any others.
I find the spotify ones more important for some inexplicable reason
That's bc they are. The papers are always writing about streaming and Spotify and who has just joined the billions-club etc. No-one writes about YT figures or not that I can remember.

I like YT bc I'm old-school. :ROFLMAO:
i think for me maybe it is because there are tons of unofficial videos on youtube that don’t count to the official tally Yet often also have millions of views, so those are basically wasted views.
I basically only use youtube for those songs that are not on Spotify

YouTube doesn’t bring in as much money to the music industry as Spotify or Apple Music but is it a major player especially in certain markets.
YouTube is the biggest music platform in the world in terms of pure numbers of active users.YouTube Charts also posts very insightful data on artists worldwide and in specific markets. It is also dominant in large Countries like India, Middle Eastern and Saudi Arabia. This is a reason why MJ is much bigger in streams then Queen or Beatles on youtoube because MJ is really everywhere popular. Beside of this he is a really visual artist.
Because of the dominace in the namend large countries many Indian artists are top of the worlwide Youtoube-charts. We don`t know them, so it is not so interesting for western countries to talk on the Youtoube-charts.

Smooth Crmininal will overtake Thriller in views when it keeps the numbers in 2024 and it is predicted to get the billion in summer 2024.

Michael Jackson’s most viewed YouTube videos in 2023:
1. Billie Jean: 233M
2. Smooth Criminal: 121M
3. Beat It: 116M
4. TDCAU: 84M
5. Thriller: 79M
6. Rock With You: 45M
7. Remember The Time: 42M
8. Earth Song: 41M
9. Black or White: 34M
10. You Are Not Alone: 32M

Kate Bush is gaining so fast on Billie Jean, it is unreal how big this song became because of a tv series.

I’m a bit confused why thriller is so far away from that billion, one reason is that it has 2 very good streaming versions, in reality it is close to 700 million but that is still a long way from that magical billion mark.
The streaming-boom of the song has allready a big drop. 269 Mio. streams in 2023, 750 Mio+ streams in 2022 . It is only 53 on the pre-2000-song-list in 2023 Spotify.

The Christmas-song-season is still not over. Mariah Carey still 6, Dean Martin 41, Frank Sinatra 54. It is really a long season.
The Christmas-album will be dominat in the next week chart.
