From the interview with lionsgates CEO he claims that the MJ Estate delivered the message that they could not use the scenes. Its being described that Fuqua had the directors cut ready to hand in when they got the message. At least from that interview it sounded like the Estate raised the alarm and told Lionsgate it was a no go. Of course it could have been triggered by Lionsgate asking if there were more skeletons in the closet than the Cascio settlement as you said.It seems that right after the Cascio lawsuit had gone in public Lionsgate asked the Estate: "Are there any hidden surprises that we're not aware of that can prevent or interfere with the release?" But it's just a hypothesis. My opinion is that the Estate always knew but it's the studio that decided to cut off the scenes.
That's certainly the way some people are framing it.You seem like a very bitter and negative individual.
People are free to like whatever, and talk about whatever. For the most part, I simply provide corrections about things that are factually wrong. Can you just let people enjoy stuff, dude? It’s fine that you aren’t interested, it’s fine that you want to engage in conversation, but you consistently quote people who are expressing their opinions and belittling or cutting them down for no reason.
While I recognise the only aim of every filmmaker is to make as much money as possible, I've said many times that profits do not matter to anybody else in the world. They don't affect you or me, that's why I don't care about them. For me, the only thing that matters is whether I enjoy watching it. I don't consider something to be a good movie just because "it went straight to the billion". Jeez.I don't know about Amy or Last King of Scotland box office ( LKoS was a very bad movie imho), but Michael is going straight to the billion dollars. So, who cares about your opinion or mine?
That's not what it says. It did not mention Lionsgate at all. They didn't sign any such agreement. Just remove the "estate" from the picture and there's nothing they can do about it.This certainly seems watertight so no surprise the movie cant include it.
massive !!, south Korea june 11 and japan june 12 !!, japan ( $70-80M+).Anyone have a guesstimate of what this film could do in Japan, when it’s released in early June?
the numbers just insane in only 10 days. Thanks beltrano.
Obviously this doesn’t have the media support, or long theatre run that Bo Rap had but, looking at numbers so far, I think it could end up being in the top 3/4 biopics of all time!![]()
Wait, its not even out in japan? Boy that movie might do 1 billion. Who knows.Anyone have a guesstimate of what this film could do in Japan, when it’s released in early June?
Imagine being a global oligarch thinking you have control of everything and MJ is not around to threaten your criminal empire. Then suddenly, people are protesting and you keep hearing "They Don't Care About Us" on blast and the MJ movie is breaking records in theatres.MICHAEL BOX OFFICE

Maintenance & upgrades according to the Twitter page, just went back online ~10 minutes agoPS: what happened to the site yesterday?
We already have several threads about Paris, please checkok so I've seen the movie 4 times now and I love it despite its historical inaccuracies and my nitpicks lol (biopics have to take creative liberties), but i am DYING to know why paris jackson says that it's "fantasy land" and that it panders to a certain faction of her dad's fanbase. she shouldn't say such ambiguous things like that because the media will run with it and say that she believes her dad is guilty. does she really believe that now??? i fail to see how "sugarcoated" the movie was. of course MJ was not perfect. maybe he was a bit of a diva sometimes for lack of a better term lol and we didn't see him use his actual voice and maybe stuff like that is what she's alluding to...? his public persona vs. the person she knew? but does that mean she thinks he wasn't a great person? do you guys think she actually believes the cascios now? it freaks me out that she might now think that her dad is guilty
sorry for bringing up something negative, but this is actually driving me insane lol like why would she say something like that (the reasons) AND why would she say something like that (when she most likely knows that the media will have a field day with it)?

$500M next thursday. What are the chances the movie hits 2 billion? It’ll definitely make a billion for sure. I mean, it’s only been 10 days and it’s already nearing 500 million. But the most interesting part is that in some countries, it doesn't even open until June! That means it’ll definitely be in theaters all through May and June
It doesn't have a chance of hitting 2 billion, sorry. 1 billion is optimistic at this point - and that is not a bad thing. It doesn't "need" to break a billion. I think around 800m is the realistic projection. What are the chances the movie hits 2 billion? It’ll definitely make a billion for sure.
